Keeping up this vibe is too easy and boring for him. It wouldn't have challenged him in any way. People like to forget how many diverse sounds So Far Gone has and how that makes it's special.
@@skateplusrice That's not the same old Drake from a singing and rapping perspective. He's grown tremendously as a lyricist. I'm not sure what you're hearing, but he wasn't rapping like this on any previous albums. He's never recorded a song like Pipe Down before or the IMY2. Only thing that sound familiar are the themes
Sampling is harder than it looks, even if its just finding that golden loop its finna take alot of time and patience, chopping up the right vocals that fit in tempo, key, melody is HARD and appreciate all producers who put out fire shit like this. Its inspiring
I hate other snobby producers that don't think it takes any skill to do. You know the ones I mean... there are some situations where the producer does that but most of the time, it takes skill to fit everything in, ESPECIALLY if you're using two different samples from different artists.

What I’ve noticed with every Drake album is that it’s mid throughout, but somewhere in it there’s a damn good song. CLB: Champagne Poetry Honestly Nevermind: Jimmy Cooks FATD: 8AM in Charlotte
Imagine what Drake could have been with his insane production team if he didn’t just make the same song about being under-appreciated by his friends and exes 10,000 times.
jacked the whole beat besides most of the drums from masego’s navajo then proceded to follow it up with like 4 good songs. its drake, he should be releasing top tier complete albums
Drake isn’t Kendrick Lamar he’s not out here to change the game (or attempt to at least) every release, he’s never been THAT guy. he’s got one foot planted firmly in hip hop and always will but he likes to make r&b/pop shit to and when he does them well we get undeniable vibes. CLB is mad over hated anyway i liked it more than scorpion and half of views
The mash-up between the two songs is one of the smoothing thing that I wished that mash-up instrumental is longer. Heck, I wished for a full mash-up song.
I figured this out by listening to all of the Beatles album rubber soul (1965) that the sample is a COVER of Michelle by The Beatles. Which is some crazy stuff.
Masego and J.L.L basically made the first beat, with the chops and the drums for Masego’s song Navajo (the intro part), which was sampled for the first half of Drake’s song.
He should have at least 4more songs on CLB that sounded like this song. I know be could have done it he's DRAKE when I hear songs with the ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 🐿 in the HOOK I always give it a listen.
I know this was a pain to edit. holy moly

If the rest of CLB had been like this song, it would have been a classic album
Most likely not, Drake would just sleep rap throughout it.
Agreed. This song catfished me into thinking the album would be good…
Lol. People said the same about Views until they sat with it for a couple of years and realized it was always a good album
Facts
@@TheFreshSoundsFlorida it’s good but not classic
Drake started the album with a vibe he couldn’t keep up!!
Keeping up this vibe is too easy and boring for him. It wouldn't have challenged him in any way. People like to forget how many diverse sounds So Far Gone has and how that makes it's special.
He had a good vibe in papi home too but too many forgettable records in between. Not consise enough. He should shorter albums like NWTS.
@@TheFreshSoundsFlorida I feel like it wouldnt have challenged him any more than what we got. Most of it feels the same old Drake

Drake didn't bait anyone. Sounds like you were projecting what you wanted from him. Drake has stayed true to his sound since So Far Gone.

But for Drake’s producer it was easy. Just take it from Navajo by Masego and then as a couple of things. No hustle😂.
@@SAG3__ There is an art & talent to being able to steal well
its the same sample but im pretty sure drake actually sampled Navajo by Masego for this song
Yup. Original chops done by J.L.L! Give him a follow on IG: instagram.com/jllprod/
@@tracklib only comment that makes sense
this should be pinned tbh
masego gettin no love on it smh
Yeah and don't forget the original song Masego sampled was a cover done by The Singers Unlimited of the song "Michelle" by the Beatles .
Top 5 Drake Instrumentals of all time by far. Crazy how they put it together. Great job Masego, JLL, 40, Maneesh & Oliver

Masego is a musical genius
Absolutely 🎉
These sample chops are so satisfying. Especially 0:48, the background vocals too.
the first vocal chops were made to a song called Navajo, from Masego
shout-out to the people bringing up Mesago. y'all real ones.

Not every Drake album. Some have multiple good songs. Others are very good throughout the album
this is nuts, this gave the beginning of the first listen of the album so much hope :(
The editing on y’all’s videos is insane. Hope to see it’s your world by common on here one day
Masego sampled this song way before Drake and today this song is unfairly reminding Drizzy
the version sampled by tracklib is the best, you feel the transitions and the melodies are so magical, thanks tracklib 😎
Best song on the album for sure

Here after Jahlil sampled this or the original sample on SZA 'SOS' song
Masego murked this beat on “Navajo” four years earlier. I tried to listen to CLB and the first track got me mad confused.
What part confused you? The beat, the sample or the rapping lol
@@Classikh the beginning of this song is literally the carbon copy of Navajo

this was a chopping masterclass
Love when he makes the switch like on Furthest Thing
Everyone should listen to ‘Navajo’ which has the original mix up of this that sample, beautiful song
The until i found you my lord sample is one of the best one ive heard being sampled. This whole song production is crazy

Masego "Navajo" Was first to use this sample
It’ll take some time before people realize this song is a masterpiece.
My Day is a happy day when Tracklib upload videos
Everyone saying that the rest of the album could’ve been fire like the first song, check out Masego
He’s one of the guys that made this
Been waiting on videos like these🔥🔥
Nice one, but the original owner is The Beatles - Michele (timeline 00:33) from 1965
It’s a cover, the vocals are from the cover
They didn't use the Beatles version they used the singers unlimited cover version
the besto song of the whole album
This channel is a blessing
Cant stop listening to that loop on the 2nd part of this joint. Godly.
Wow. Perfect work man this was top shelf
SZA just used this too
Ayint it Masego that chopped the sample like that🔥🔥🔥🖤
It's only two Drake songs I consider classic, this one and Pound Cake 🐐
From Time, The Motto, Over my dead body, fancy, Lemon Pepper Freestyle, When To Say When etc. Drake has some instrumentals 🔥🔥🔥

Can you do Medicine by Joji? Kinda like an easy one, but I want to see the whole process
The first is basically just Masego's navajo!

I know this sample bcs masego had a song called navajo with this!
This was first sampled and used by Masego for his song Navajo.

Masego and J.L.L basically made the first beat, with the chops and the drums for Masego’s song Navajo (the intro part), which was sampled for the first half of Drake’s song.

This is the only song i listen to off that album 😂
And the singers unlimited sampled, or did a cover of, the Beatles song Michelle
