Minnesota Twins: FINAL MLB team to unveil City Connect jerseys

The Twins are the 28th of 30 Major League Baseball clubs to join the City Connect club. Their uniform pays tribute to the state of Minnesota, its natural landscapes, lakes, and wildlife, and even gives a little tip of the cap to a local music legend.
Inspired by the state motto, “The Land of 10,000 Lakes,” the Twins City Connect uniform (it’s really a “State Connect” uniform) is almost entirely “Deep Blue” with subtle shifts within there from light blue to dark. These shifts symbolize a deep descent into a lake and create a ripple effect that dominates the jersey base. “Warm Yellow” accents symbolize sunlight, and a tiny hint of the lightest shade of pink (tagged “Radiant Pink”) you’ll ever see helps complete that feeling of sittin’ by a lake in Minnesota.

I’m from Minnesota (born and raised) and the whole “State connect” thing is more of a necessity here.
As someone from St. Cloud, I wish the twins leaned into being from Minneapolis rather then always focusing on the entire state

Twins Home Whites do not have pinstripes but the gray roads do. The 'Twin Cities' jerseys have the cream pants.
I’m a big Twins fan, didn’t love these yesterday but feeling better today. Move the MN to the side of the hat and the 10000 Lakes to the chest of the jersey and fix the pants to match the jersey and these would be 🔥

I liked your critique of the Twins City Connect unis. As a Twins fan myself, I really like the design that they came up with. The state logo and the loon logo are both a HR and the overall design is solid. I personally think these are my favorite City Connect Unis.
Surely that is the Northern Lights at the top of the state on the cap.
Northern Lights was my take as well, and don't call me Shirley.
Would love it if they used that MN logo with that shade of blue on a polo shirt.
As a Twins fan I understand why they chose the land of 10,000 lakes design however I feel like the NBA’s Timberwolves did it better. The yellow sun just feels out of place and has been overdone by Nike with other teams.
MN has perfected Tampa’s branding.
Overall, 2nd best city connect jersey - Rays are by far the best.

I like them very nice design
While not amazing, these are one of the better-looking ones. The Twins' regular red/white/navy blue is the most bo-ring color scheme in all of the MLB (like half the league wears it, lol) so this injects some new life into their kit. I like the waves and the state outline logo on the cap. And for those joking that this looks like a Best Buy employee uniform...guess where Best Buy was founded?
I agree the pants look cheap compared to the cool waves on the top.
Would have been nice to incorporate more of the Aurora Borealis into the design, also a reason to have a purple accent for a Prince reference.
But the 4-pointed star looks identical to the LA Galaxy soccer team's logo star, that was the first thing I thought of. I like the concept of having the North Star represented, but this one's been used already.

I love both of it. TBH. It's completely different from the Twins' usual brand identity and looks very state-connected which is perfect for a Minnesota-linked team.
The under side of the cap bill is not water texture. It is a map of Lake Minnetonka the biggest lake in the state. They say it is a tribute to Prince “purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka”
I think the Twins should have gone with a darker blue for the pants at least. Not necessarily navy, but at least a darker shade of royal

I'm a Guards fan and I like them. I hope the Twins wear them for a few the games so Its easier to figure out which team is who since they have similar colors. A couple things I notices is that the color scheme kind of feels like a nod to the Lakers when they were in Minneapolis. The other, is the "North Star" on the MN abbreviation that you mentioned Brodie, to me it seems it is kind of dotting an "I" that is formed by the "M" and The "N" to kind of make "Min" - Might be a long shot Idk... but all in all very cool.
The Brodiestrator is working overtime on this jersey.
I like these overall. I'd go with a white belt, though. The yellow belt is a bit much for me. I don't mind it as part of the piping or the hat, but the belt is too much. I'm with you on the pants, too...I'd go dark or black. Heck, I might even go the gradient from dark blue on the outside to light blue on the inside or light cream with dark blue piping. If they wanted to work in a third colour...and I wouldn't...a forest green might be a good add-on in spots.
I'd say it's more of a lift off of the LA Rams than the Royals. I can see Aaron Donald wearing this as a jersey and throwing out the first pitch at Target Field.
This is one of the better of the better overall "City Connect" concepts.

I with Nike & MLB did what the NHL did, and add the city's nickname, or outline in the collar of the jersey. At the very least, for the City Connect set.
Like Baltimore would have "You Can't Clip These Wings"/Charm City; Minnesota for "Land Of 10,000 Lakes"; Seattle for "Emerald City", etc

These are one of the better city connect uniforms. Yes, the front is missing something, I think a number might balance it a bit more. The hat is clean but looks a hat you would buy at a souvenir shop.
Now that all the city connects are out, this would be a good time to rank them.

I notice a few of these City Connect uniforms are more like State Connect. The Rockies feature "COLORADO" across the front... along with the silhouette of the Rocky Mountains.
Agree the textureless pants looks quite odd. Ditch the Best Buy Yellow belt & blue pants for white or dark blue if the pattern can't be worked into them to match the shirts.
10,000 LAKES has the water waves inside the letter forms. Don't mind it TBH.
Just remember that "10,000 Lakes" isn't always as Captain Obvious to some people as it is to you and me. I like it on the hat! In fact I like the hat better than I do the jersey!
Honestly I can dig Them! I wonder how often MLB teams will do City Connect jerseys. NBA does it Wvery year which I feel is a Bit Much. But every Few years would be Cool
I really like them, minus maybe a couple of critiques. I would have chosen white pants, and taken off the "10,000 Lakes" on the hat. But other than that, I dig em.
Not a fan. It looks like the brewers and to be honest I feel like a bunch of teams have chosen this exact color scheme or similar for the connect.
I think its fine no real change needed.. can't have a shirt to busy. simple is always better.. hell i love the Mariners Connect. everyone hates on the black pants. i love them.. each there own i guess.
You forgot to mention the player numbers on the belt buckle. Personally I’m not a fan of the yellow belt (number or no number). The cap could have said “Minnesota Twins” or just a baseball patch on the side. The pants, meh…I’m old school and really like the short pant style with the baseball socks.
Regarding the whole City Connect uniforms....one day in the future we will look back and say "WTF were they thinking??"
The blue pants aren't quite as bright in person, but they're still not a good match. I agree with the 10000 lakes patch on the hat. I'm glad the adjustables don't have them. Overall I like the jerseys. but I'm not going to buy one because they feel awful. I don't know if the ones the players are actually wearing are like this, but they're just too dang heavy. They feel like a 70s era bad polyester suit. They're a heavier weight than the regular, new fabric Nike jerseys.
They should’ve just continued the gradient down the pants.
Using the Milwaukee Brewers colors is a stupid mistake. It's just a reminder of when Bud Sellig wanted to contract the Twins and have the Brewers get the market. Neighboring team's colors should have been off the table when Nike designed these uniforms.

As a Minnesota born and still here, these don't look like Twins uniforms. They are a complete fail to me. Just as bad as the Vikings "Winter Warrior" jerseys. Just horrible as bringing back the OG Timberwolves logo and jerseys. It's been nothing but fails to me.
CC’s are mostly all terrible. This one would look like a golf polo if it had a collar.

They need to take a look at a team right across the river from them. A team that they once shared a stadium with. The NY Giants Football Team. Even they, steeped in tradition, do alternative jerseys. They have a 100th season uniform this upcoming. It’s atrocious. It’s still away from traditional.

The Yankees, probably because they feel a CC is beneath them. Remember, the Yankees tried to keep the Nike swoosh off of their jerseys. The A's, because of the mess they are in. In an idea/better universe, the A's could have done a throwback CC to the old Oakland Oaks uniform. Copy the Rays and include the Bay Bridge on the cap, or something.
Seems to me to be a desperate cry for attention by MLB. I miss the days when baseball was more about the game than the merchandise. #oldman
The City Connect program is a complete blunder. The unis - on the whole - are atrocious. Hats included. I understand the excuse by Nike to get the pass with these dreadful unis is that they're "for the kids". What kids are talking about these and, in turn, talking about baseball? I don't have kids, but I do work at a school. I don't hear a peep about baseball in the hallways by the young people, only the oldies like me. This is all a money grab designed to get people like me to spend money. I'm not buying anything from this City Connect set. Nothing.
I'm not rooting for baseball to fail, but I *am* rooting for baseball to get their act together with retaining the fans that they DO have and hopefully we can continue to pass the game along like it was passed to us. Between uni QC, betting, advertising, and blackouts, baseball is in real danger.
