That 7high call has to be the absolute coldest play i've seen in a very long time, i'm absolutely shook. What else to say except looking forward to seeing more of your journey back to highstakes brother
Holy shit that 76 call was unbelievable. It didnt even cross my mind you were thinking about calling, i was sure you were talking about finding a river raise 😮😂❤ craziest hand ive seen bro!! Thanks for sharing
I made a similar call once in a spot very similar to this coming to essentially the exact same conclusion. I had 8 high. Villain was bluffing with 8 high and we chopped. There was a famous call on pokerstars back in the day limit holdem where somebody 4bet (capped) river with 33 on something like QQ772 (can't remember exact board but something like this) and the opponent had 44 for second nut low and called and won... everyone on 2p2 debated whether misclick or superuser. It was at highstakes too.
@@BenaBadBeatPoker i saw it on a 2p2 thread like at least 10+ years ago probably closer to 15. it's probably archived somewhere but not sure what you'd search to find it. I just tried searching "2p2 4 high call pokerstars suspected superuser" search terms and couldn't find it but I only did a cursory search. It was 1 or 2 k bet limit holdem so the pot was a good 5 figures. It was pretty wild. I'm almost certain the board was QQxx2 where xx = low card >4. Almost positive QQ552 so like literally the only possible hands that were counterfeited. It might've been a chip dump as well. As far as I remember, nothing came of it
Honestly this might not mean much seeing as I’ve been dead money for a while but I used to crush nosebleeds for a very short amount of time in 2006-07 before going on a wild non poker related gambling journey of self destruction. That 7 high call is the single best call I’ve ever witnessed and you shouldn’t be “COOL” or “MODEST” about that hero call. I’d be shouting that from the rooftops. What an insane call. Outrageous.
Ironically, I ran the same exact bluff as you today with the AQo, just I was holding AKo. And, the board was J22Q8. I overbet jam the river with them calling off with pockets J's 😡! Glad it was the correct line, though.
in the last hand if you did bet, would you stab turn for bigger than 1/3 OTT. Since villain isn't that polarized when they x/r a paired flop. Since they still have alot of under pairs in range great vid mate, content is top notch x
Love the thought process behind your 7 high call but were you never worried he could be bluffing with a better hand than 7 high? Does he check-raise with like 8,5s etc or middling pairs and then choose to bluff river? What are your thoughts.
as I said in the vid I do think there would be weaker played who would make the mistake of bluffing those higher up hands. you can only make this call vs someone that is very mindful of range vs range. and even when they are, as you can see here, it’s still very easy to overbluff ‘good bluffs’ while not bluffing ‘bad bluffs’ (7hi)
There is a cat in the intro, but no cat in the video. Perhaps include cat (if there is one) in the outro when you say "like and subscribe"? Otherwise great fromat, looking forward to the next one, cheers.
You explained it but i still don't understand this call with 7high. I want to see the villain's bluff range. Even if he bluffs with 5x, his 5x are gonna have kicker that can be better than 7, right? I don't get it.
as I said i don’t see this good player ever bluffing hands like 8hi as they’re very aware of range vs range here. but even a very good reg can accidentally overbluff with just their 5x!
Your thought process, understanding how ranges look like and how this is influencing strategy is very on point, sicko! How did you get such a deep theory understanding? Could you maybe talk a little bit about your study routine and how you constanstly improve and learn effectively. I still struggle to find an effective study routine
thanks mate! I have played professionally for 14+ years so naturally have an understanding of ranges due to that. my study routine has changed a lot over the years, but for the most part it’s a lot of thematic study, ie; bb v btn srp or btn v mp 3bp, then finding heuristics among board types etc. then there will be random hand reviews, trainer sessions etc. you basically wanna mix it up so you don’t get bored of a specific study type!
In the first hand, isn't it possible that he simply thinks that, given your bet size, you are too polarized to trips there?.I mean, solver checks hands like AK and if solver bets AA or even KK ,it does it to a smaller size than your 1.5x right? .In that case, even if you are using AQ without spades as bluffs you could end up overbluffing (even to that bet size) I imagine.Still sick insta call with TT,he certainly doesn't "need" to do that.
yeah you make a very good point. obviously I can’t guarantee this, but I know I would shove AA otr here vs this player. I may not shove AK always though. if villain assumes I under value shove river though, hero callijg becomes very attractive for sure cus I basically will be always overbluffing regardless of my combo selection
@@BenaBadBeatPoker probably just someone you know. There is no way yku called this on flop, on turn and on river. I saw you fold AK on K high board in position, so this 7 high call is deffinetly settled up. Or god-like read. But probably first. Of course there are tons of 5x, but you dont beat most of them 🥲
your logic doesn’t make any sense mate. every poker hand is unique and naturally making big calls or big folds are dependant on multiple variables. however I will agree that this 7hi call was pretty wild!
Nice call but Tony Hawk called Maria Ho with 75High on 4TA28 4flush board and was right

blocking K6cc and K7cc - hands that xr as OOP then check turn

The reason for smaller xr size on paired boards? ( 10:35 )
because neither player is really pushing equity on such a locked down!
