Thank you so much for helping me save a whole months worth of rent. Did the job in walmart parking lot. God Bless you!!!!
4 years after your video just helped me. Thank you brother !
Your videos are the best!!!!! Thank you
No-one on UA-cam has shown how to change the FRONT differential on a Mercedes Benz E350 or E550 4matic (mine is a 2011 E350 4matic W212) because it requires the Removal of axles and related Front end components to actually find the Fill plug...I just completed in 10 minutes the oil service without removing anything at all except the drain plug itself...650ml of oil came out...pumped in 675ml to compensate the small amount that will drip out while removing my home made adapter and feed tube (similar to the one used on the Transmission) ...saved a bunch of money...and YES in only 10 minutes mechanics and M. Benz dealers out there!!! Peter Ginakos
This is awesome!!!!!!
how about show video or steps how you changed front diff oil on 2011 e350, i am having same issue ??
@@nikolaikiritchenko1802 hello Nikolai...I don't have a video because I was all alone and under the car on cement garage floor...drain oil...with an adaptor...plastic tube or similar that fits snug in the drain hole you can pump or use gravity feed from above about 675cc...then remove the fitting fast and simultaneously stop the flow with your left thump ...slide the plug with your right and screw it in...that's all it takes...
That was kewl brother , greetings from U.K. 👍
awesome video buddy
best youtube channel!
some sources say use SAE 85W-90 for Front Differential, and SAE 75W-85 for Rear Differential.
Awesome vid!!!!!! Thx
I don't know what model Mercedes is that. But my glk350 front transfer case use the ATF fluids from the transmission. Thank you for the video
greetings, you've done an excellent job with all your informational videos. i have a 2011 w164 ML350. got about 42k miles. i normally work on it myself, ive change the thermostat...thanks to your help, i saved $250.
i was wondering if at sometime you can do a video on how to service the Transmission. Fluid change.thanks....Sam.
I'll try to get that video out
Good video. Would help to know what model of Mercedes
Thankssss
Anybody have the torque specs on the plugs? I just did a 1/4 turn past resistance so hoping that is sufficient.
Is this the same procedure for a 2005 s430 4matic ?
Good day
I own a 2008 gl450 can i use this oil for both the differential and transfer case service? Thats d 75w-80 from benz.
Expecting your feedback and advice.
Thanks
Having a hard time finding those drain and fill plugs. A couple of places I have looked say they are no longer available. Are they the same part number for the front, rear diffs, and the transfer case? And by that, I mean, are the screw drain and fill plugs all the same and we will need six of them for all three jobs?
How often should this be done?
I’m guessing your car was level. Is it possible to raise the opposite side of the drain hole for more room underneath?
So you should not jack the car up correct? So it can be level when draining it?
Do I need to use the copper crush washers along with new plugs with rubber seals just as you did with the transfer case fluid change?
Yes... It is strongly recommended to use new parts in this job.
Which model was that on?
Is this works for GL350 2012 thanks
this is work on a GLK350 2011 x204 ?
Tq sir
I have a Mercedes-Benz 180cw202 have they to a difrenteel on the fore side grtz fernando
This for w164 model diff
What model is this car
Since Mercedes recommends a hypoid gear oil, won't the Valvoline gear oil do the job for a lot less money?
It probably would. If the gear weight is the same then it should work. However you cannot go wrong by using what is recommended.
Coming to slowing down and breaking kinda jerking now could that be transmission I check break pads they are still good
My 09 c350 and 08 gl450 both do that. I've been told by mercedes mechanic it's normal behavior of these transmissions
Hi great video.. what year mL is this
2006 ml350. What year is yours?
That diff fluid looked NASTY! Question, at 2:55, you say that part numbers for the differential bolts are in the description but I don't see any.
You can read the part number on the packaging shown in the introduction of the video. The part number is 1643310056.
Check your diff first. Mine (a 2004 SL500) took a M24x1.5 screw plug that used a 14mm hex bit to remove. The part number for the plug is 0009976232 and they are $3.04 ea at ECS Tuning. However, with no washer or flange, I just reused mine.
Mb manual for 08 ml350 states 1.1 L or 1.2 qt of fluid. Are you overfilling it here?
Correct and no it's not overfilled
That's the new
Brand oil
Where do you get the plugs ? Can I get a part number ? Thank you
From the parts department at your local Mercedes parts department. What's your vin#
would this be the same in a 2008 S5504matic?
Very similar. Call the dealership parts dept for an exact fluid match for your vin number.
If you overfill, won't the excess just run out of the fill hole?
Yes
C'est idem pour ml 400 cdi merci
Are the transfer case flush and the front differential flush the same or are they still seperate
On the 4matic?
transfer case use the same fluid as the transmission.
differentials use much heavier fluid.
Is it ok to add or change the oil if sound comes from differential..?
Yes
Sealteam7 🧐
Is it necessary to replace the plugs? Can I just use the old plugs?
it is recommended to change them.
How many Oil for that. Thank you
fill it until it runs out the top, then let it run until it's below the fill hole. That's how Mercedes does it.
Will this work on a w204 c class?
Yes
Where is the fill plug on the 2016 C300 ?
On what Mercedes you not showing the car
Transmission fluid change next?
+Warrior-of-Love 43 I'll try to get a video made oon this.
@@iRepairAutos Yes I love to see that, its no soo easy job. Got oilchange brobs, need some info. My oils are already 90thousand kilmeters old.
The car should be level (horizontal front/back and right/left)
What year mercedes or what model was it?
W164
2006 ML350
Hi. What year/model was this on?
2006 ml350
HEADS UP ALL: My GL320 just hit 200K and OUT OF NOWHERE it seems like the Front Differential is failing, from a dead stop I give it a little more gas than usual and I can feel and hear a Fast Slip Knocking sound coming from the Drivers Side CV Shaft, fast forward a few hours later and it got worse, now at a normal takeoff speed it’s slipping.
CHANGE YOUR DIFFERENTIAL FLUIDS EVERY 50k OR ELSE.
You forgot to mention what model Mercedes your working on.
Which MB is this for?
ML350
Was it 4matic or rwd?
4matic
What car was this on?
Ml350
what is your mercedes modell?
2006 ml350
@@iRepairAutos thanks a lot👍
Is that a 4matic Car? what kind of Mercedes is that
+redbaron2448 yes it's 4matic. It's an ml350
iRepair Autos okay thought so. Saw you doing the rear diff video, then you said something about the front diff I'm like this guy Doesn't know what he's talking about, cars don't have front diff must be a 4matic. Very good video
Hah hah... If it's rear wheel drive only then correct there is no front differential fluid to change. If it's 4matic then yes. Some models don't carry the 4-matic lettering on the trunk even if it's 4-matic so double check.
How many miles did the car have when you changed it?
150k miles. But it should be changed much sooner than that.
why not using the old drawing plug, you don't give any reasons why. if you inspect the plug and look good you can reuse it.
Mercedes recommends changing this plug. Once used it doesn't have the same specs. You end up over tightening.
Where do you get the new plugs and seals?
This oil is hypoid gear oil.
Where is location of merc Cls 350 v 6 2012 Antinna Amplifer
Prashant Patel no answer yet he doesn't reply?
That was very overdue for a change
$60 dollars for one bottle no thanks
I will use 75w90 gear oil from auto zone $20
Great video tho thanks
Just give the part number while you are talking stop tell us to look for it
Yes sir!
I think you're missing some very important information. Mercedes makes more than one car. What car is this for? My 2010 C300 4Matic is completely different.
yes, this not helping atall.mine is e350 4matic 2010-modell stw. There is no fill plug atall.Drainplug is. Fill via drain plug, use a pump to press new oil in. Must be super fast to hit the plug back in. Greetings from Finland.
@@artsimannisto5659 I just spent hours looking for a fill plug. Do you have any idea what the black plastic cap is right on top? It is able to be twisted around. I was tempted to try to pop it off with a flat screwdriver.
