I have a similar issue and I am a lot more efficient with my upgrades. I have the free gift talent so I usually get either the sealing pot or another item worth 2000 energy then immediately resell it. I also always claim the first airdrop on screen as it requires no video and usually gives 200 coins. I then buy a bunch of ores and generators to fast track my income. I have both the 3x repair item and 7x turret talents unlocked as well. I usually try to pace how fast I upgrade doors as upgrading them while they are being attacked refills and increases the door health. I usually focus more on ac, compass, holy water, and the upgrade under holy water as my 4 priority upgrades to purchase for increasing attack. Still, the enemy always kills me within the last minute or two before sunrise when there is only 2 left because they always become too OP.

you shoud only use 3 guns , but upgrade strongly for them and use trap and blood bottle , you will finish early
