When i worked too hard i was really really new to it and it was complete ignorance. I got my fitness up so quick and so high, but then got injured because the body couldn't cope with what i was making it do. Now I've discovered you.
I run daily, and loosing my mojo happens, training too hard running twice a day and feeling leg fatigue and mental fatigue follows, but now I'm running easy chatty pace and starting to love my running again... but I have been running every day for over 4 years - I'm no record holder, but I will stick with my disciplined running daily and stretching! and may reach year 5 Thanks again Stephen
Thanks Stephen! I had to take a week off running due to illness, feeling down about lack of motivation. After watching this video I laced up and got out there! Love your videos
youre literally speaking to me right now. ive had 2 stress fractures in 6 months. developed RED-S from not eating enough and now i have to work to get nutrition, rest and strength work right before running hard again
This is one of the best videos I have seen in regards to running. Specifically on the success mindset it takes. Consistent patience! Planing ! Realizing the moment and seizing it. “ one step a head of another !” I real enjoyed this content. Thank you for all the insight.
It is incredible to see how your videos are getting better and better. I am running since 17 years and you are so RIGHT. Thank you . Wish you the best for Paris🎉
What I learned from Stephen that no other coach teaches is Running is a lifestyle. Constant iPhone reminders telling you to electrolyte, foam roll, stretch 3x, rehab, massage gun, yoga, meals, fruits etc. I stuck to it the moment I bought my Marathon ticket. So if you’re struggling with discipline, buy that Marathon ticket & maybe plan it in another city, state or country to make a vacation out of it. Now you have the pressure of not letting yourself & your family down. You’ll end up a better person after it all. ❤❤ good luck on your journey friend
Great video content from one of the best! I might be in the minority when I say that I don’t love the B-roll footage though. The clip at 7:08 of the lady running with her jacket coming off is so absurd. Lol I’m a visual learner so seeing models with terrible technique from stock videos distracts me from the amazing information that you’re telling us. I’d prefer just a video of you talking on the couch or b-roll clips of you running. But it’s all good, if the stock footage gets the videos more views or is enjoyable for most people; I can easily just listen & not physically watch the video. The information is what’s important to me and I’m just grateful that you’re willing to share your knowledge with us.
You hit on the head for me. I’m going to say I’m in running depression minus the hating everyone and running loll. I’m just hard on myself but thank you for this, you put everything in perspective thank you 🙏🏾.
Wow this is so poignant right now. Just went the longest time without running in the last 2 years, 2 weeks, with symptoms of pleurisy forcing me to stop, but I've been undisciplined lately even when I was training, letting injuries get out of hand not doing any rehab. Club training trying to run reps like I was still in sub-16 5k shape of last summer when actually I'm 10kg heavier, haven't had consistent mileage or any long runs in 6 months. Time to show build, and implement what you set out in this vid
This advice speaks directly to me, I appreciate hearing your perspective. I'm now at the start of my journey of rebuilding my aerobic base after ruining my groin last august. I pushed my weekly mileage way too high when I knew I shouldn't have, because I was letting my ego get in the way. I had to learn that lesson the hard way, but this video helps to crystallise into words the experience of being injured was trying to teach me. All eyes set for my next Half Marathon race next April! Thank you for these videos, they're worth their weight in gold!
Would be pretty cool to see a video on illness and the affect it can have on athletes and what you do to try and mitigate the chances of occurrence of illness in your daily routine?
I worked too hard 😊🤚 . Took 3 months off from running due to flipping a house (put in 968 hours on that house)… so as I got back in for a 1/2 marathon training program, I felt behind. So I pushed it. Now I have a stress fracture in my metatarsal (self diagnosed). Been knocked out 4 weeks far. But i went and bought a stationary bike and have been riding everyday and doing other workouts that keep me off my toes so to speak. 5 weeks left until the 1/2. 😮
This is exactly where I've been the last 3 days. Someone tagged me in a photo from a race I had a few weeks ago and I had no idea I was still so fat. Seeing myself really messed with my head and I've been dragging myself through runs bc I don't want to go back where I started even though I don't want to run at all rn. I've quit before and remember the regret later....actually thats why I gained the weight so I'm trying to push through until the motivation comes back.
I’m sure you’ll keep pushing, and if you’d like to see a photo in future with a different image stay consistent. Not super aggressive, just consistent and know you’re on a good path. Towards moves
It's not so much that you hate running but more being disappointed and frustrated by your results. In fact trying too hard to love running and the feeling you get when things are going well. It's a matter of trusting the process and knowing that you need to ride out the slump and stop expecting so much from yourself. In short chilling out for a bit.
Did my first ever 18 mile run today. It was tough but I didn’t quit.

This is exactly how I felt yesterday, out for a shorter run today to recover.

Loved every bit of this, and it's applicable to running and life in general. I'm going to start that nightly routine TONIGHT.
Excellent advice for not only running, but life. May have to play this for myself on the daily. Thank you for this!
As an American, I’ll be watching and rooting for ya, Stephen.
I need this right now. struggling to get back to any kind of running
Thanks Stephen! Happy running!

Use the picture as your motivation. Put it up where you see it all the time. Let it fuel you! You got this!!

Very thankful sir for sharing ❤💪
