You’re the only person out of like 6 reviews on this plane that even tried high Alfa this thing. And it does it great! Thanks for the great review! Just ordered one through your link!
Thanks Nathan! We always try to find ways to push the performance of a model so the audience can see how it performs. The harriers this model can do require you to use a specific mix which is covered in the setup section at the end.
Thanks Jon! I appreciate the setup being added! Most important for me, really. I am getting more proficient at mixing with the IX14, but I'm happy to have the guide. Takes the guess work/research out, and reduces the learning curve considerably. Did you, or would you upload the setup file to your google drive? Thanks again bro, really appreciate the work and effort into the channel!
Unfortunately no, we can't post any setup files for at least a week as our transmitter is en route to HH for servicing due to a faulty charge port. When it gets back and we make another Twinber vid, chances are we can post a setup file for anyone who uses an IX radio.
Bro, I really don’t care about that plane but your reviews are so interesting that I watched it…🤣 well done once again ! Honestly, you’re clearly the best « horizon hobby influencer » of the UA-cam game 😇
I love the Red and Green zip ties identifying Port (LH) & Starboard (RH) servo leads, brilliant…! I’ll be using that genius idea/tip for sure. I’m hoping that all or most of the Twin Timber servos are digital. Gonna try S.Bus control on my Futaba setup.
Great review! I like how you take the planes through more then just basic flight. The advanced setups you do at the end are great. Theyre also short and sweet. Really makes it easy to know if i would really want a plane or not. I agree with the score (maybe a 9 cause of the porpusing when landing) for what this plane was originally designed to do, it appears to be built very well to do it. Im going to pass on this one though cause the big ass eflite cub ss with the motor and prop upgrade you recomended and omp bighorn 4s fill my high wing prop needs😄. Keep pushing those limits
Strange Jon...I commented during your premiere in the chat, but I don't see it?? Anyway man...great job with the Twimber! This was definitely a fun one. So many options and unique capabilities. I'll have to try the harrier mix!
I just bought a Twin Timber 1.6, and I'm amazed with it, and even more so after seeing You flying it. FANTASTIC. I made the configuration changes (mixings, etc.) as you suggest in this video and they really work as you exemplified, BUT... in Flight Mode "AS3X-Safe Select" the Right Aileron does not obey the Stabilization. Can you tell me why this is happening? I am using the "NX10" Transmitter which is duly updated as well as the "AR637TA" receiver. Thank you very much
You need to reprogram the receiver so it understands that you're using the new wing type. This should be covered in the setup guide - or at least the basic info on it should be.
@@TwoBrosRC Ok, but how can i do it if the Receiver "AR637A" that comes with this Twin Timber is LOCKED and therefore neither with the SPEKTRUM PROGRAMMER on the Computer nor with the FORWARD PROGRAM of the transmitter it is not possible to have access to its configurations??? Great review Jon. Yay for the beefier gear springs, but I see the wheels are severely toed-in especially the right side. I assume the gear struts are the same soft aluminum as the TT Evo and at least in my experience the bottom ends of the struts can bend during hard landings in rough ground, causing that toe-in. Beef up one part of the gear and the next weakest link shows up! 😜
Thank you for another great video, sir. While I don’t see the “Twinber” ever having a spot in my hangar, I still wanted to watch your review. I usually pick up something from your uploads that benefits my enjoyment of the hobby. I do have a question for you. What do you use to get airspeed on your IX20? I recently switched to an IX14 and would love to have the ability to track airspeed without using my SkyRC unit. Is it as simple as just adding the Spektrum SPMA95871 GPS module to telemetry capable receiver? Thank you for your time and response. -Guy
We use the Spektrum GPS sensor you mentioned. You plug it into the X-Bus port and bind the receiver to the radio with it installed, then your radio should auto-initialize it and you'll see it in a telemetry panel if you swipe right to the GPS screen.
Great review. What mix rate from elevator to flap do you recommend for high alpha flight? And with the flexibility of 4 wing control surfaces with independent servo connections, do you use more than 3 flap/crowe settings, or just full span flaps, flaps with crowe and wing normal? And I have heard you recommend a different propeller. What is its spec please.
Great video again Jon. I think it kind of looks awkward as a taildragger, maybe its the nose. I wish it was offered with a tricycle option. It looks much better on the floats in my opinion. I love my timbers but I'm not quite as excited about this as I was the UMX Evolution. I would have loved to see some sort of clip system on the slats. Maybe next time.... Are the new springs compatible with the Evolution?
I normally fly full 3D aerobatics and I wanted a bush plane with those same capabilities so I bought this. I’m looking forward to getting it in the mail. Hopefully I don’t snap the wings off with my flying style lol
So far, so good, even with intentionally landing like a meteor! The only separation we've seen was at the tailwheel which has a much smaller contact patch with the wheel hub.
Would this or the turbo timber be a good second airplane for me? I’ve been flying my Skynetic glider for months, doing loops and low passes comfortably and want something a little more fun. Thanks!
This would be easier to fly than the Turbo Timber due to the lower wing loading and severely reduced risk of gear issues and/or prop strikes. You'd enjoy it.

The setup guide in the video covers how to program full span flaps. It's also entirely possible to have AS3X and SAFE with that setup, you just have to ensure that you've used Relearn Servo Settings in the receiver Forward Programming menu.

No idea on that question.
It looks from the front like it probably has enough clearance with the fuselage to jump to an 11" prop.
