I got to spend a week in Shanghai, which was literally a dream come true 🥺 I tried my best to capture everything we did and everywhere we went, so please check below for a list of where we went!! Feel free to also comment where to go in Japan (Tokyo and Kyoto) because that's where I'm headed to next!!

Planning to go to Shanghai in late January- February next year and so excited! Thanks for the tips. From Texas
February 10 would be Chinese New Year in 2024. It would be a quite different experience to travel to Shanghai around that period because the city would be half-empty since many people will return their home town to celebrate the festival with their family.

Which hotel do you recommend to stay in? I am a Muslim mother and want to travel with my daughter on her birthday for the 5-day trip including a visit to Disneyland. So what do you recommend to stay? Hotel inside Disneyland or outside in the city?
Stay within Disneyland area. I had stayed in both Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel. I prefer Toy Story Hotel as your children will enjoy the theming of the room. The last time I was at Shanghai Disneyland was in 2017 and I ate at a Halal stall Yershan Restaurant in the Republic Food court in Disneytown selling Uighyur cuisine. Then I moved to a hotel in Shanghai city and there were many halal Xinjiang type of restaurants within walking distance.

Shanghai has surprised me in many ways so far and I won't expect it would stop doing that at any time soon! Just history of the Bund area deserves videos to be made about.

The start of may is public holiday so maybe will be crowded on tourist spots. Also be careful to check the weather before you go, may and June is usually pulm rain seasons. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
