Every single drop of sweat paid its worth, Amazing, stuning, overwhelming performance. Magic Zeng Yun. Great clap for him and the conductor and its orchestra
I really feel as though the French Horn pushes, carries, and swells so much emotion throughout the pieces that utilize it. You know he has mastered his instrument because you not only hear it - you feel it.
What a performance, bravo! I loved every second of it! Whoever clicked dislike it's because they're jealous and can't play like him! Well done! Huge respect from Hungary 🇭🇺🇭🇺
@@brianlepauvre I honestly enjoy Yun’s sound over Baborak’s, not to say he’s a superior player, but I just think that he’ll develop into a player of his own unique style

I am a reasonably competent amateur horn player. I can attest that his tone is great. His technicality is superb. As any horn player knows, it's almost impossible to play live without splitting the odd note. His expression is very good indeed and his cadenza is a firework show! The only thing I'm not so keen on is the vibrato. It's not really the classical style, and not my preference. But that's an opinion of course. I would certainly have given him the prize. Wish I could play the Gliere that well!
Yeah, wtf, I wonder if he was making that face because he was trying to be expressive and all or in disgust by the lack of awareness of the clarinetist
Uh... That is a clarinet solo in the orchestra that provides a counter-melody along with the what the horn soloist is playing at that time. They're supposed to be doing that. I've heard many recordings of this piece and find myself disappointed when they clarinet doesn't bring out that solo.
It’s not actually fisting the horn. He’s simply resting it on the inside edge of the bell. The sound is made slightly darker and more mellow by doing this, but it’s also to have quick access to tuning the instrument. By changing how much of the bell you’re covering, you can change the intonation in small or large ways. It’s mainly just a persisting characteristic of the instrument from when the natural horn was still primarily used, rather than modern “french” horns
wonderful. What a sound. French horn, one of the best instruments ever.
listening to this player made me have goosebumps, so extraordinarily beautiful. Angelic sound-----so perfect.

His tone is so incredibly confident but his phrasing makes it sound so sensitive holy shi- this is amazing!
I see a young Radek Baborak in him
though some running notes (about the end of the performance) needs more clarity, but overall it's amazing af😂

I agree, the vibrato makes the warmness of the sound of horn.

The clarinet is louder than I would like at 12:00 a nub like me did not think it could compete with the horn's projection.
