Well Darnell I and my brother and his wife cooked a fresh ham that weighed 11 lb .33 we started the temperature on setting 7 for 2 hours then we moved the temperature to setting 10 for 4 hours we covered the top of it with heavy duty tin foal that way the heat would have to move down around the ham and that had to be the juiciest ham that I have ever eat in my life and The Taste was out of this world I will say it was a bit large at first but it still worked. Thank God for the expansion ring so thanks Darnell for the tips
Thank you for taking the time to show me these wonderful cooking guides on the nuwave oven. I got one brand new at a yard sale and could not figure out how to use it. I am glad you show every step so I can see what could possibly go wrong so I can see how to resolve it. 👍👍
Thank you for explaining the power levels on the nu wave I have the model that only has numbers 1 thru 10 and when I made a ham it came out a bit brown. The official nu wave showed to cook it at high but found out to get to 275 I have to be at power level 7 to avoid browning too much. Thanks for all your videos and I also watch your ninja foodie grilll pro videos as I use that as well.
I read a book and took a nap, washed the dog, and when I got back, you were still trying to figure out how to get that dang ham out of the wrapper. Good sound effects, anyway.
My Nuwave is the Nuwave pro plus. It doesn't have a number for heat setting. How do you substitute? I love your videos but I think you have a different model so curious how to adjust accordingly
Hi Darnell, do you need the extender ring? I have my mom's old Nu-Wave oven. And I don't see that she had an extender. Can I cook a ham without the extender?
Ham slices are like potato chips, Bet you can't eat just one. Good one Darnell. My new wave oven shoiuld be here next week. First thing I'm cooking is chicken wings
Dear sir I am at 6:46 on the video and you are still wrattling that doggone foil! Please edit if at all possible. That almost 7 minutes of my life and you haven't shown me anything but how to open the package. Humbly submitted.
No edit will made. I make the video to the level of instruction I feel appropriate. Anyone who disagrees may utilize the fast forward button, to reach the point of their own personal preference.
Glad you're sticking around. I can't say every video is going to be what everyone wants. But, Lord willing there will always be another video coming 🤣👍🏿.
The foil keeps the direct heat from incinerating the top, just like when I make our turkey, every year. Except for the turkey, that's not pre cooked, I make an aluminum foil "cap" for the top and secure it with 4 toothpicks. Merry Christmas, Y'all!
That's not true for all, especially today. Back in the day that was like a standard. But no longer, for many it's no longer necessary. As mentioned, follow the instructions.
+Bob Smith I am not trying to fry the ham. This is not an air fry and the NuWave Oven can also bake. That's the goal here, to fully heat a pre-smoked ham. It is not good to use a conventional oven for this. A conventional oven is horribly energy inefficient. Meaning the hours cooking would cost me much more money if I used a conventional oven. Using the NuWave Oven saves money. This is the beauty of the NuWave Oven that many fail to recognize. It pays for its self in savings and pays back over time in lower energy bills. 🔌💵
Darnell, please start cutting all the visible fat off your meat! I can tell you from experience, a heart attack is not something you want to be courting!

Rude!
The ham looked fabulous. Thanks for the quick response. I use to have a nuwave but it went out. Just ever went back to it. How often do you use it?

I haven't used that model, so I am uncertain.

Not as well

+road1rash Cool, hope they turn out great. 🐔😎
Couldn't hear anything you said all I could hear was the wrapper foil then your foil!

Covering with foil is for the conventional oven
+msvolvo86 Already responded to this in an earlier comment. I recommend using the foil. Especially with a sliced ham.

Another option, to avoid the metals seeping from aluminum foil. Is to do the same using butcher paper instead of foil.
Dude you play with foil too much!
Isn't that fat side up so it melts down??
Not for this style. You see my results are good.
You don’t have the machine plugged in the cords laying on the counter lol
Dont forget it calls for a little water too
That's not true for all, especially today. Back in the day that was like a standard. But no longer, for many it's no longer necessary. As mentioned, follow the instructions.
Your foil will block all air flow, therefore no air fry! Just put in oven.

Got it , thanks for the explanation, think your turkey looked better but enjoy watching.
+Bob Smith Sure. The ham was already cooked, pre-smoked and sliced already. So heating it without foil would have made for dry ham 🐖 🙂

Who said I eat all the fat?
