It's a damn shame what happened to Crewe. I lived there for many years and it used to be a lively place. Good shopping centre and good nightlife (especially the much loved and much missed Limelight club). The council knocked down a huge chunk of the town centre a couple of years ago in preparation for a big entertainment complex then cancelled the project and currently have no plans to fill the empty space (yet have gone ahead and built a new multistory car park - who the heck is going to be visiting the town centre now?). I grew up here in the late 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and my parents lived here until their passing. Car park cost £14m. Then there’s the market hall where they ripped out 150 year old wood shops and replaced it with MDF just to have an events space. Don’t forget the £70m Olympic swimming pool that isn’t an onympic swimming pool and is usually desolate except for council employees that get massive discounts. And then there’s that ridiculous and violence giant bee murial on the square made from guns and knives that cost £1.2m paid for by local tax payers and is to travel around the country Mismanagement isn’t the word. The council have looked after themselves and their employees above the residents.
WTF has happened to Crewe!!?? Its now a hellscape of delapidation and utter depression. I feel for the people living here. The Government (both local and National) have let the people down massively. It will almost be impossible to turn this round. Why do we pay taxes at all??? Why pay taxes at all???
Well it's nice to see a true picture of Crewe it's totally over for Crewe ever since we lost the HS2 promise And what the council have done to the town is shocking just a carpark and bus station WTF They have destroyed the history promised a shopping centre but run out of cash so they only had enough for the multi story carpark and bus station it's absolute comedy for anyone looking at Crewe I am ashamed to live here and don't get me started on the pot holes 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
