louprrlt funnily enough I made a video like that. It’s on my channel. It’s more of a “what do you think of me” but with friends. Check it out if you’re interested!!!!
How we met: I was 21, she was 20. I was in my penultimate year in college. She was in her first year of seven in college. I saw this tall brunette in a crowd exiting a building. My heart missed a beat as I stared. I was not in her line of sight, yet she sensed my presence and briefly turned and glanced at me with a concealed smile. I knew instantly that somehow I would spend my life with her. (This is a long story, so if you're easily bored, leave now). Some weeks later, I saw her walking on a path parallel to mine near the college campus. I crossed over so that we had to pass each other. I smiled, she smiled back. This happened several times as her accommodation was close to mine. In the evenings I would search the floors of the college library. Then one evening I found her. I sat in a nearby cubicle, not having the courage to approach her. I saw her several times subsequently in the library. Each time she was totally focused on her study materials, but she would nod and acknowledge my presence as I pretended to casually whizz by. One evening, close to the end of the college year, I decided to overcome my shyness and seize the moment. The library was nearly empty, and she was alone at a large table for four. I pretended to be on my way out, then suddenly see her and swing by. I sat at the empty space at her table, my heart pounding. Her face turned multiple colours. I introduced myself. She did the same. We talked for 30 minutes or so about our families and college. We had much in common. Then, the college year ended. The next college year was my last. I saw her again in the library from time to time and we talked. Our total focus was our studies. We were both from humble backgrounds and a lot of sacrifices were being made to put us through college. Exam failure was not an option. We did not have the money, time or indeed the energy to date. As that year ended, I was finished college but she had five more years to do. A relationship was out of the question for her. I started work. Over the next five years, I had several girls in what we would now call the friend zone, but none who were special to me. I dated a few other girls, but my heart did not seem to be in it. It is only now, many years later, that I realise I was subconsciously running down the five year clock until her college was finished. I was never in contact with her. This was the '80s. There were no cell phones, there was no Internet. At the end of her final college year, I drove to the college in my newly acquired car and searched for her. No luck. I knew the tiny town of a few hundred she was from so I drove there, made some inquiries and also drew a blank. Finally, as she had an unusual surname, I decided to search the local telephone directry. There were five entries with that name. I called the one I thought was the best match. It was her cousins who gave me her family address. Heart racing and hands shaking, I called her number. Her late mother answered; she saw through my cover story and could tell I was a suitor. She giggled as she uncovered by true objective, told me her daughter was now working as an intern in the nearby city, and she promised to pass on my telephone number. A few days later, I got a call at work. It was my tall brunette from college asking how I was. I knew from the tone of her voice that my life was about to change forever. We talked for three hours straight. I asked her for a date for the following weekend. That weekend, I drove to her city, a little nervous and very excited; it was the best journey of my life. When I picked her up, she was wearing a floral patterned dress in turquoise green and maroon. She looked and acted exactly as I remembered her five years earlier. I noticed she was tense in our car ride to the restaurant I had booked. She was very nervous at dinner and hardly ate. Before I returned home, she asked me in for coffee. There, she stood over me in her little kitchen, as I sat and drank her coffee. She relaxed, standing and talking for four hours until I had to plead to drive home. As I left, I reached out to shake her hand. She pulled me in and kissed me. She had taken control of our relationship and has not relinquished it since. We married two years later and will be 30 years married next summer. We have two adult children. She told me years later the reason she was so nervous on our first date. She was shocked at how much I had matured physically and in self confidence from when she knew me in college. She feared I had outgrown her. She still has the turquoise green and maroon dress in her wardrobe and occasionally wears it. I love her more than ever and more than she will ever know. She went to bed two hours ago and will be wondering what the hell is keeping me awake.
@@onyour.silvia_ Thank you, it is only in hindsight that I realise it is romantic. Most people who know me would never associate that story with me. Have spent my college years and all my working life in mechanical engineering, nerdy, logical, pressurised and testosterone filled.
M40 she’s lucky he wasn’t an ax murderer, I hope she doesn’t teach her child it’s ok to meet strangers that way. They look like they have a beautiful relationship and family, but my god that woman was not making very smart choices
Banshee Queen It’s an annoying tradition here in South Asia, though. You don’t have rights. My teacher’s story is that one day, he woke up to see his parents standing in his room telling him that he’d be marrying his cousin. To this day, he still complains about it.
People need to understand this is an entirely different culture. It isn’t weird for (most of) them. It’s a part of their culture and something they look forward to.
He looks like such a sweet man. I bet she felt safe having him come over to her home when she saw his pic. The love for her in his eyes is so obvious. What an adorable couple.
This is fascinating, hearing people stories makes you realise, even in the worst times, miracles can happen, like meeting the love of your life, you can finally see the good in people, having faith in humanity again, spreading this around you, loving it is such a beautiful thing, don't hide it, let yourself love and be loved, everyone deserves this, some are not that lucky to have it in this lifetime, at least not both ways, but just knowing that this is possible makes you face life with your head up, with pride, not regreting you did various things, good or bad, to find your love! Thank you Thoraya! And thanks to all of this people that let Thoraya tell their story on a bigger stage! Much love for all of ya! ❤️❤️❤️💞💖
Hexxxen, I want to let you know that your comment pushed me to leave a comment. You said "loving it is such a beautiful thing, don't hide it, let yourself love and be loved,". So I decided not to hide it. Thank you for the push. 💞
Met my husband at college we were 16&17 he smiled at me across a room full of people and I honestly feel as though my world just paused. We were a couple within 3 weeks. That was 22 years ago, we've been married 14 years this year too. He's the best human. We have fought very hard for each other. I love him more than I will ever be able to write.
My Story is kinda the same i saw him in the hallway and we looked At each other for a bit to long and in this Moment my brain thought "this will be my boyfriend". After months of not knowing eacht other i texted him out of fun and we got together after knowing each other for 3 weeks. That was when we were 14.
I had a similar experience with my first love. We were I. High school and everyone was rushing to class. We walked past each other and locked eyes and it felt like the world stopped. We didn't even say anything to each other but I knew we'd be together after that. A few weeks later he got my number through a mutual friend and we fell in love....only we didn't work out. I was destroyed for three years when he left me but was amazingly blessed to fall in love with someone else and again have a similar experience. I was at a party in the desert and I wanted to sit by the fire but no one else was and I felt weird, so I grabbed the person closest to me and asked if hed sit with me so I wouldn't feel weird. He agreed and we talked for a good while without even really looking at each other, then I realized how insanely comfortable I felt with him and that's when I decided to look at him and bam his eye sparkled and I knew I was going to have his children lol. Ten years and three kids later here we are. I'm a very lucky person
"No matter what happens, Him not being in my life is not an option". That's one of the most powerful statements I've heard. Especially meaningful in times when people treat each as discardable commodities in fast food like communication channels.
While God has power over everything and is all-knowing, humans still have free will and are free to make choices that lead to certain outcomes. Whether you find someone and form a connection still hugely depends on you.
I struggle with social anxiety and just moved to a place where idk anyone. I go skatepark. Gym. Pubs. Spend time on the water front. And marina i Eat out. And go to the park to smoke and have some drinks. Most of the time I'm on my own. Maybe 10-15% of the time I canI bring myself to approach people and interact And 90% of the time I go into panic close quickly and walk away but it's getting better and my conversations are getting longer the more I push myself to go places where other people are spending their free time...
Dang, like... I hope I didn't miss mine. I saw someone I went to high school with at the grocery, but was too shy to say anything. It was a wake-up call, but I still regret not saying anything to him in particular.
Well I guess since they are on their first date it doesn't necessarily indicate that they are officially together. I mean if she isn't sure she gotta make things clear
@@TheZindarod No, she said she liked that he did. It's right there in the video. I have never been on a first date with someone who was already my boyfriend.. lol.
They're already on a date, so she's clearly interested. Being friends is literally the most important foundation for any couple honestly, so when she said that, I got it as a good thing.
I know this is going to sound dysfunctional, but I met my boyfriend/son's father in rehab 3 years ago. I was from the large city an hour away from the town I was in and he was from that small town. We were both there in hopes to turn our lives around for the better...he struggled with alcoholism and I struggled with drug addiction. We were friends for a while with no intention on being together. I slipped up and relapsed after rehab and he was the only person who texted/called me multiple times a day to make sure I was alive. After my dad died [rip mom and dad] I moved to the small town to help me stay clean...we clicked immediately as friends...and as months passed and as much as I tried to avoid it, we ended up falling for each other. 3 years later we're both still sober, still together and welcomed my 1st baby June 2018♡ Sometimes people come into your life when you least expect it.
There are so many cute details but i’ll try to abbreviate the story: The summer before we both went to college, he started hanging out with our friend group and we clicked almost immediately, but he had a girlfriend and I tried to deny my feelings for him. In August, we all went on a road trip and once he told everyone he had ended it with his girlfriend, I finally let myself be attracted to him and we both unknowingly flirted with each other the whole weekend. On the drive back we had to fit seven people in one car so I laid across everyone in the backseat. My head was resting on his lap for two hours and I kept my eyes closed for the most part because I knew I’d blush or giggle if I looked up at him. He told me later he was stealing glances at me the whole time. I hugged him goodbye when I got dropped off at my house and we both almost shared how we felt. By the time we were both going to different schools, we were talking or hanging out almost every day and we started calling each other while we were apart. About a month in, we were both being pretty mushy and giving each other lots of compliments and we planned a weekend where I could visit him, but we still hadn’t clarified our intentions. A bit later I asked him on the phone “So, are we, like, a thing?” And there was a pause and he said “Yea” lmao The first weekend we spent together was perfect and since then we’ve fallen deeper and deeper in love. We just had our one year anniversary last month❤️
My husband, and I are high school sweethearts. we’ve been married for 6, but in total I’ve known him 11 years. right from the start we were very good friends but with time we became closer. He did everything he could to convince me.. I did everything I could not to fall for him, but the inevitable happened. It was extremely difficult because I had a lot of family issues that took me from state to state and also had other issues as to why we couldn’t be together. It seemed like everyone, and everything was trying to tear us apart...between religious, to Family, and not having the circumstances to be together. So we decided to wait, we waited for each other for five years. We wrote letters, until the day we finally started officially dating despite what People wanted. And we married each other. And to this Day we are still together, and we have Been happily. He is my best friend, I am so happy we didnt let all the division break us apart. Its honestly like a Real life Romeo and Juliet story without the tragic ending. Thanks for reading
The first thought was that he could be my best friend :-) And then boom married for 33 yrs and still standing hugging each other on street:-) And 8:39 couple god thats called fated to be together
I love “how we met stories.” In real life I’m forever asking “how did you guys first me?” I realize I’ve been doing it forever. I started asking my longtime friends and have continued to ask people who I’ve come across in my life the question. I was glad you’ve included people who were in their 30s and above. I’m in my 50s and I do enjoy watching UA-cam videos, but I wonder if you’ve come across many “older” (40s and above) and if they have a “the one who got away” or “I have a crush on you/do you want to go on a date” story to tell. Please include more. I know our in our society we place importance on the youth. Shows are filled with youthful cast members. It’s refreshing when there is a show I can relate to. Of recent, the now no longer on air, “Hot in Cleveland.” Thanks for listening. Keep up the great work!
My husband and I met at Warped Tour when I was sixteen. He came up to me and asked if he should see the band I was waiting for or go to this other band that was playing & I told him he should stay. We’ve been inseparable ever since 🥺
I met my boyfriend on Plenty of Fish. We were just supposed to have a casual date/hookup. We’ve been together for 3 years now and just adopted a gecko together. 😊
So this is how we met... I was in personality development class where my teacher gave us a task to download online dating app and to meet new people from different professions.. so I went back to my place downloaded it.. right swipped people from different professions.. talked to them but was too anxious to actually meet someone.. a few guys asked for my insta and he was amongst them.. we talked for a few months on insta, got to knew each other... We both have had breakup from 5-6 years of relationship so we were not ready to go there yet... Finally we met... A few months later. Got to knew each other more and tried hard to stay away from getting into emotional stuff. Definitely that didn't work out.. it's been a year or so and we are happy, not commited though, still trying to figure out the question.. " how can two people who are trying hard not to fall for each other still ends up doing the same".... I know very few or may be none will read this but this is a story which need to be told 😉
So we met at "church" when i was in grade 5 and he was in grade 6. i never really knew of his existence, lol, but he had a crush on me already as early as then. later on though, me and my mom became inactive and never went back to the "church" for a long while. we did live in the same area though, and without me knowing, he would sometimes hang out at the subdivision where i lived and see me outside our house, and just look at me from afar. he would see me on mornings when i was going to school, and he'd risk coming late to his class, just so that he could get a glimpse of me. they wrote an essay in school where they were to tell about their first crush, and he wrote about me. one day, years after, (we were now in high school) the mayor of our town came to our school and my class was required to meet and greet him. so there i was, shaking the mayor's hand, totally unaware that the meet and greet was on film. now "his" class was required to view an educational movie at the cinema, and guess what. before the actual movie, a short clip was played, and apparently, it showed me, shaking the mayor's hand. "he" was reminded of his first crush, and he'd occasionally return to his aunt's house who had a picture of me in her album. so he'd just visit to be able to glance at the picture. i never knew about it during the time. i didn't even know him. (i'd tease him now that he was low key stalking me. 😂) again, years passed, me and my mom became active at the church again. so we met again. we were in college by then. it was the first time that i actually acknowledged him. never knew i was part of his story for quite some time already. we became friends, and that's when i found out about all the stuff i wrote above. i was shook he even could remember the exact date when we first appeared at the "church", what i was wearing, and certain details about my looks that time. after a while he started courting me (culture where i live) and i accepted him. turns out we first met in 1997, became boyfriend/girlfriend in 2005, got married in 2010, had our daughter in 2012, and are soon celebrating our 10th year as husband and wife in 2020. i mean... who would have known... 🙂
Could you do this in Korea? Maybe during a tour in Asia? I reckon there’d be many who’d love to stroll along with you for a day to translate (me being one of them)! Something to consider? ❤️

My parents met on a beach in Thailand over thirty years ago. My dad is from New Zealand and my mum is from Sweden and they were both backpacking around the world. They had to do long distance for a few years before they eventually settled in New Zealand. They are such great role models of what a good relationship looks like; I love their love.
It's gonna be almost a year next month for my long distance relationship and he did live in Colorado but he moved away cause of his job but we are making it work ! He's coming to visit soon
Was on tour working for a band in 1984. While on the crew bus, I picked up an adult magazine and saw a woman in it. Just a few days later she came to a show and we were introduced. Married in 1987, still married in 2024.

My husband and I met in Michigan- I’m from Maryland and he’s from Minnesota. We were at a concert with mutual friends and never ended up talking. Then we all got connected on Facebook somehow and one day I asked for prayer on my status and he was the only one who messaged me asking what he could pray about. We became really good friends, then ended up dating and were married within a year! It’s our 3 year wedding anniversary in 6 days! 🥰
My very special grandson is in the first interview. I seldom get to see him. What a wonderful surprise to see this and his first date with that beautiful young lady.
I met my husband when I was 20. I had moved into my own apartment. I was attending school full time and working like crazy to pay the bills (My parents were broke.) I was at the apartment pool, and he walked up and started talking to me. To this day, he has no idea why, because he had (and still does have) paralyzing social anxiety. We got engaged 3 weeks later, and our 25th wedding anniversary is this summer. His keychain has the gps coordinates of the exact spot that we met.
Let me tell you all about my love story .. I met him when we were in high school, I was a sophomore and he was a junior. I was new to that high school and they changed my schedule around out of no where so I got put into a new class during my 7th period class. I was getting my notebook out of my back pack and as I was getting my pencil out, I looked up and I saw him sitting down looking down at his pencil, I completely fell in love with him. We’ve all seen cute people before but I’ve never felt like that before, i never believed in love at first sight until that moment. He messaged me on Instagram and after that day we’ve been together. As every couple goes through breaks, we had one since the beginning of feb until September. So 8 months. I always knew since I saw him that we were going to be together for life. That one day he was gonna be my husband. He’s my soulmate. If it is truly meant to be it is no matter the circumstances! And I have a lot of proof for that. We connect in another level , ever since the very first day I felt as if I knew him before. Being in love is amazing.❤️
My grandpa’s called up my grandma’s house one day (they were family friends) and she answered, and I guess that was the first time they technically “met”, but yeah so then he told his dad immediately when he heard her voice that she’s the woman he was going to marry. So they met like a couple days later and she always tells me she just fell in love instantly 😂😭 and my whole family being Arab, they married the next damn month lol. Now it’s 51 years later and they’re still going strong!!

Tomorrow I'm going to text him because I'll be in his city for the weekend ..and I'm going to ask if he wants to meet for lunch...I'm so scared because idk what he'll think..I just know I want him in my life!
This story is so wonderful i almost shed a tear😭💘

This is fascinating, hearing people stories makes you realise, even in the worst times, miracles can happen, like meeting the love of your life, you can finally see the good in people, having faith in humanity again, spreading this around you, loving it is such a beautiful thing, don't hide it, let yourself love and be loved, everyone deserves this, some are not that lucky to have it in this lifetime, at least not both ways, but just knowing that this is possible makes you face life with your head up, with pride, not regreting you did various things, good or bad, to find your love!

You are so lucky to get each other after fighting hard ♥️
Nobody’s gonna talk about how he met her through HER HUSBAND 😐

There are so many cute details but i’ll try to abbreviate the story:
The summer before we both went to college, he started hanging out with our friend group and we clicked almost immediately, but he had a girlfriend and I tried to deny my feelings for him.
A bit later I asked him on the phone “So, are we, like, a thing?” And there was a pause and he said “Yea” lmao
The first weekend we spent together was perfect and since then we’ve fallen deeper and deeper in love.

Of recent, the now no longer on air, “Hot in Cleveland.”
Thanks for listening. Keep up the great work!

Sorry for my bad grammer.. not my first language.
again, years passed, me and my mom became active at the church again. so we met again. we were in college by then. it was the first time that i actually acknowledged him. never knew i was part of his story for quite some time already.
we became friends, and that's when i found out about all the stuff i wrote above. i was shook he even could remember the exact date when we first appeared at the "church", what i was wearing, and certain details about my looks that time.
after a while he started courting me (culture where i live) and i accepted him.
turns out we first met in 1997, became boyfriend/girlfriend in 2005, got married in 2010, had our daughter in 2012, and are soon celebrating our 10th year as husband and wife in 2020.

“I love her heart”. 🥺❤️
The couple who met on Craigslist.. The way he looks at her.. Mannn I want someone like that😩😩😩😩
I guess you shouldn't try Craigslist though
6:28 the way his looking at her is just 😍😍🥺🥺❤️
I met my wife on E-Harmony. We've been married 14 years 5 months. I'm more in love with her then when I met her. My wife is my hero. She's a nurse, and a wonderful person who loves me too. I cherish her. There is nothing she asks for that I wouldn't do.
I met the best guy ever on FB 7 months ago...2 months later he flew me out to Florida..for the best Vaca I've had to date!! we have traveled together... and had so many memories shared.. he's so genuine, so ambitious. Im in love with him. I pulled away because he wants to have children one day. And I don't..*I have children* I told him I could no longer be friends with him because I was in love with him..but I miss him terribly 💔.. it's been a lil over a month since I've seen him, he reached out last week to check on me and my family because we had bad flooding in my area and that's it.. Tomorrow I'm going to text him because I'll be in his city for the weekend ..and I'm going to ask if he wants to meet for lunch...I'm so scared because idk what he'll think..I just know I want him in my life! Some way, some how...Wish me luck! 🙏🏾🤞🏾
Shon B luck don’t exist u don’t need it if it’s meant to be it will happen

did you ever text him and did he ever reply?
@@danai6579 I did! He replied saying meeting up was possiblity.. he say he had errands to run etc.. I didn't get to see him.. as we speak I'm driving back to Houston.. from Dallas ( hr lives there) .he did text and say dang, he was busy etc..and would like to have met my teenagers...they were with me. that was it..
I love the last couples story ❤️! And what she said about how she always ran when things got bad , but with her husband she had the courage to face them because she grew to love him . I loved how she explained that feeling .
I met my husband on craigslist too! We met up at the dog park and after a few hours I just followed him home. Six years later we got engaged and then married. Sometimes it works out when you follow strangers home 🤷🏼♀️
Those close up shots... the eyes literally speaks.... we know the one who are really in love and when the other is not really into it ... it breaks my heart
I think the greatest miracle is when love is reciprocated ♥️
AYE Shoutout to the twitch couple !!!! I met my (now ex) boyfriend of 3 years that lived in Ireland (I live in chicago) from twitch! LOVE YOU
Awe yes!!!
The emotional connection of those in a LDR really enhances the physical once they're together. That in itself is just so beautiful to see. True love with no limitations.
WOOOOHOO YEAH THAT'S US!
