Question: If I am a self-taught bassist (3years of palying curently) do you think I will be able to learn how to play songs just by ear someday ??? :D :D i mean i can tell aproximately tuning of bass when i hear the song, but i cant figure out which "frets" (notes) are played just like that, I always need at least a bit of tabs and then I can somehow make out the rest of it Edit: or maybe if oyu have some tips as to how to learn to play by ear :D
Hey man, I'm self taught too. You can definitely play by ear someday. Just play a song and figure out the notes slowly, whether that means slowing it down or pausing it constantly (I did the latter), just keep going until you get eventually get it. If you keep on doing it and practicing, the process will get faster and faster. It did for me atleast. Hope that helped!
