Please take a moment to check out Robins video here! ua-cam.com/video/Lh16_tRhDd8/v-deo.html He’s also closing in on 100k Subscribers so let’s help him get there!
I got confused thinking you were gonna live out of your van forever like a bearded, travelling wood whisperer. No! You’ve got a massive, bespoke robin clevett assisted workshop! Well done, looks great mate
Thanks Will :) Yea it’s a rather unconventional ‘van life’ when I’m going to be essentially orbiting around my workshop. But we’ll try and make it work 😂
The first half of the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.
A lot or channels would have made a 15 video series of all of this, but you just went ahead and blasted it all out at once, big respect! That's a lot of progress for a single video!
I’ve long been an admirer of Robin and his work. I’ve been in the building trade for over 30 years. I’m an electrician, but his work ethic and skill should be studied and emulated by everyone! Well done 🤘
I too thought you had quit woodworking or something from your previous videos, and thought it would be a shame for one of the most talented woodworkers I've ever seen so I'm happy to see this for you!
Matt - I can't tell you how exciting this video is for me. My own woodworking journey began making the dovetail box from the Free Online Woodworking school. I wouldn't have the true love for woodworking that I have if not for discovering your channel. I'm glad to see big things happening for you. Lifetime fan, here. Cheers. 🤘
Robin seems like the absolute kindest individual out there. His willingness to teach and not be condescending or judgemental is a joy. It parallels your approcah to fine woodworking and furniture building. All credit to him and his team and im looking forward to new Estlea vids. If Robin wants to come and build me a workshop, just hit me up!!
I fully expect a fireman pole (stripper pole?) video on your channel soon. Seems a better way to get down from the mezzanine than climbing back down the stairs.
Looking great can’t wait to see what the new shop is going to look like when it’s finished. Best of luck can’t wait to see what videos you start making
Great seeing the new shop. I hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it, but you need to get the van sorted and (as I said Sunday) get on the West side of the North Coast 500. Great talking to you, take care.
Well done mate. I'm looking forward to seeing what else you'll be doing in this totally awesome workshop. Great lighting by the way. Good for camera work. Of course I'm also anxiously looking forward to seeing what you'll end up doing with the van interior and the trips you're going on in the van. I think you made the right choice in adding that to this channel and moving to this new shop.
Thanks Tony! Very happy to see the response to the van conversion series. Was concerned it’d be pushing the boundaries too far, but seems a lot of people have really enjoyed it so far. Once the workshop tour is released in a few weeks I’ll be sure to fully get back into the swing of things :)
Awsome Matt, first I follow your work on UA-cam for a long time now, from your first videos from woodworking school.... It is nice to see how much you have progress. Its not easy work, as I have UA-cam channel on woodturning but watching your journey is so inspiring. Thank you sir
What an amazing space for you to continue growing. Also a second for how generous Robin is with his knowledge. I've been following his channel for a while now and he is always responding to viewers specific questions - he must have vicariously helped thousands of people with shared knowledge and it is all just sitting there on UA-cam for future viewers to find.
Matt, I'm so happy for you to see this shop come to life. I remember that janky mezzanine build in the old shop that was so funny to watch. That's great to see Robin come in and provide all that help - what a guy! Just subscribed to his channel. It's been one hell of a long journey and I'm looking forward to seeing what you create next!
Robins the best carpenter on youtube i can watch him talk through things all day.. Even when i already know how to do them.. Combine that with one of the top woodworkers and probably the best put together youtube videos..... Its win win. I havent stopped what im doing on the spot for a youtube video since the early project binky days. Got no excuses now to keep the videos coming 😂🤣
Look what you've done with the place. After mentioning how much you were going to mention Robin on friday night in the voiceover you didn't dissapoint. Dam the mitre saw legs look nice
Oh Matt. Iv got to be honest your new workshop looks like a dream to me. Id give anything to have a workshop like that where i can simply let my creativity fly. I did like how you included dropping the screws, that made me laugh so hard because most all of us have done it at some point in our lifes. Im glad to see you smiling again Matt, you have worked soooo hard over the past 5 years. You deserve a rest. So please STOP, put the kettle on a take 5 mins to reflect on the past and realise how far you have come and what you achieved. You one of my biggest inspirations Matt and i dream of being as good as you and the other of my inspirational woodworkers one days. I leave you be now Matt as i know your a busy man, just knows as a viewer, fan and a fellow woodworker its an honor to watch your videos. Take care Matt Keith
I watch a lot of Robin’s stuff as well as yours Matt and I’ve heard him say “I’m not a joiner” and I’m sure I’ve heard you say “I’m not a carpenter” so I often wondered if your paths would ever cross. You are both real gurus of your spaces - excellent at what you do and crucially, excellent at teaching and inspiring others.
I’m no where near the calibre of skill and experience in my own field compared to where Robin is in carpentry. But I very much hope to be one day. Thank you Gary!
Every once in a while you have people that come alongside you and absolutely eclipse your capabilities to reach your goals. I will never forget those people, and I strive to be one of those for other people as well. I'm sure you do the same in your life, and it's an absolute joy when you get the chance. Thanks for the awesome content Matt!
I’ve been watching you since the first days, through the “sketchy” workshop and now. I’m happy for you and know you’ll continue to work hard and make a grand life and entertaining videos. All the best.
Love the video and the workshop! Not envious at all, as I slope off to my workshop (well, allright then, garage) and squeeze in sideways between the mitre saw and the tumble drier……
Congratulations on the new space, having that extra room does wonders for the mind. Great to see you smiling, and really looking forward to meeting you,April and Jimmy in Australia this weekend
Not going to lie, I used to assume it was a craft for people less skilled than Furniture. But over the years I’ve done a full 180 degrees on that. It’s incredible what these guys can do
Glad to see you back in the shop doing woodworking! That’s what built the channel and that’s why I am here… Cheers on the new shop and look forward to more woodworking videos!!!
Very exciting Matt to see you getting everything going with your new shop! Can't wait for the finished tour, and some new videos to keep us all learning
Great job fellas, very happy for you Matt and ofc grand job by Robin and his team. You deserve every success. One question, are you going to going to have to spend a ton of cash for extra cameras for each space or will you swap them around each time (FAFF!)?
This makes me so happy to see! All the sorrows of leaving the old space are scattered in the wind when seeing this lovely upgrade. Huge congrats, you are very worthy of whatever good is coming your way. Can't wait to see what you can cook up in this new space! (I'm guessing it will somehow still be a project so huge you'll soon be knocking down the walls to the neighbour)
Been following Robin for ages have to agree the guy awesome...love watching the detail he goes into and learnt loads just watching what he does. Looking forward to the tour!
Congratulations on finally reaping some well deserved harvest after all the toil and anguish! Looks great! Happy for you ad looking forward to what will come out of it!
As someone who works in my garden dodging showers and annoying neighbours I'm an insanely jealous of your space But you deserve it!!! Learnt so much from your videos in the last few years 🙏Can't wait to see what you create in there
Thanks Matt. Glad to see what you have been up to and look forward to more content after a break. Honestly my woodworking practice has gone off a bit since you have been gone. His work ethic is just one of many traits I admire about him. I hope to be able to match his skills and experience one day!
That power tool wall, just beautiful
Great to see such a momentous objective has been achieved.
Love the OSB in the back ground!!
Great to see you are back to your positive, get shit done, persevering self. Best of luck. The new workshop is a thing of beauty.
Congratulations and good luck with the next chapter of your life!
Robin is a great guy and knows his trade 💯
good to see it all coming together, great things are on the way !
Thank you Peter!

Nice, Matt! Great space, I’m happy for you (and more than a bit envious!).

Congrats Matt on your new shop. I seen Robin's video hope all goes well cheers
Matt, great job. All the best to you and your future.🫡
Yes! Robin and his crew were definitely a God send to you Matt. I'm looking forward watching his channel.

Most excellent Matt! Dang, if I wasn't across the pond, it would be great to see this in person
Good to have you back Matt!
Yep. That's it. As I told you on Sartuday, your material storage somehow reminds me my whole "shop" (shape & size) 😀

I very much look up to him as a human being. ‘What would Robin do/say’ is very much a motto I find myself thinking often 😂
Two of my favourite channel providers that I enjoy watching in one video! Nice!
I fully expect a fireman pole (stripper pole?) video on your channel soon. Seems a better way to get down from the mezzanine than climbing back down the stairs.
Haha I’m never going to escape this bloody fireman pole 😂
One word, “NICE” ! 👍🏼👍🏼

Finishing touches? A workshop ever evolves, I bet yours does too.
