  • The group "La Calandria" played, sang and danced for the people of Torre del Compte on Saturday 20 August 2011 as part of the celebrations for the fiesta. This performance includes dancing while playing castanets and group singing.

    We have also philippine jota. But the music is different. Bamboo is used as castanets

      Ardelia Durano Yeah it reminded me of Filipino music I heard + the tinikling dancing. At first when I heard the Filipino music “influenced by the Spanish” it didn’t sound Spanish to me, it sounded Italian or Slavic or something but I guess it really is Spanish haha. It’s weird though because this doesn’t sound like Latin Americans music at all which is interesting lol.

    Pues a la chica de al frente (gris y blanco) le hace falta conexión con su equipo y consigo misma. Espero q no haya estado allí a la fuerza pero con deseos de aprender. Y si así, pues bienvenida sea. Jota es la mejor. Benditos sus bailadores y músicos!!

    mas maganda p ang jota sa pinas ..sa kanila nanggaling ang mga sayaw na ganito Peru mas the best ang interpretation at mg execute ang mga pinoy dancers..

      Iba talaga ang sayaw na jota sa Pilipinas. Ayoko yung sayaw sa España kasi may background vocals.

      @@singkilfilipinas5574 Luh, dude, respekto lang, ok naman pagproud pero pag ipinapagbaba mo na ang ibang kultura para sabihin mas mataas ang iyong kultura ay masyado na, toxic na yun. Pwes, tong sayaw naman ito ay galing naman talaga sa kanila eh, ipinagreinvent lang natin ang sayaw, seriously, itong mga peenoise oh.

      I mean i do adore how this type jota has the singing in it and how jumpy and more active it is... Its just the difference, filipino jota is more focused on the graceful aspect I'd say
