- Wilmot raceway put me out by myself to hot lap the Grandstand Video 10v owned by my Nephew Matt Vandervere. I thought I did pretty good and had some speed. Then I saw the video footage...... I did have a blast and then went back to my video booth to do what I do best wich is film the guys that I have even more respect for.
Did great for your first time out man, car came back in one piece and thats what matters at the end of the day especially when its not your car.
Very cool. Would love to try it.

That's totally cool. I'm jealous. I'm sure I can run fast laps by myself but in a pack of cars is another story. good job!
Indeed it DOES change things a LOT. For one thing, you can't hear YOUR car, above the other cars sounds all around you. It's pretty much, instruments only, other than gas peddle response. If it goes, it's running. It's also unnerving to look up the line of cars at the start and it looks like a freight train, already heading into turn 2 as you go under the flag, and realizing you have to pass them all, to win. Total inverted starts, are a true challenge.

I would love to try one someday but at 6'8" tall I don't think I would fit real good....My buddy owns the local track and I had the chance to try a Legend a few years back....That didn't go so well, I felt like a circus clown in that little car !!

Lol I'd bet the music was added to cover the fact that he was barely on the gas. You drive those cars with that pedal on the right. You did good though. Music covering engine audio is stupid though.

You can in a number of places, in cars ranging from stock cars, super stock cars, late models and sprint cars. Not cheap, but, there's affordable rides for pretty cheap. WAY cheaper than buying or building a car. By a factor of tens , of hundreds.

The sound of a sprint car is better, especially with the subject matter being sprint cars.
They aren't made to go slow. Lol
That's why spectating these events sucks, you have no idea how fast they really go until you step into ANY race vehicle. Looking outside in gives it no justice.

i race go karts. i have the mentality of a racer. i`ve been around them my whole life. never had the chance to be in anything bigger and a kart.

Yeah ok... easier said than done. I race a winged sprint car and its easy to sit in the stands and wonder what the hell is going on and why someone isnt "standing" on it and driving like everyone else when youre not the owner nor the driver of the car. That is why the majority of the people in the stands, never set foot in one. Takes a ton of $$ and experience.
