What an amazing job! Most people would be happy with a ‘back to factory’ repair, but this is miles better!!
Out of interest, did you do any alignment checks as you were going? If I was doing that repair I guarantee it would warp as I welded it 🫣😂

I reckon cracking before a weld indicates a lack of post-weld heat treatment that leaves the hot weld area harder than the base metal, need to heat the entire area on that piece and cover it with insulation to cool down very slowly.

Brilliant watching a quality repair, completed by people far more concsientious than those who made the damned jib. The shocking weld exposed within an area normally not seen, gives an insight to how much worse this damage was, compared to whether it wouldn't have beem as bad, or occurred at all, if the original weld had've been up to scratch.. It would bring into question the quality of what you buy from overseas and maybe WHY, it is cheaper than comparable Western models.

A brilliant job stronger than factory as I was watching it I was wondering how your were going to weld that stiffener on the inside when you put the final plate on it doesn't need it anyway that damage was caused by a bad driver we had a 210 hitachi go the same way the driver using a 7ft grading bucket using one corner of the bucket I don't have to tell what happened that driver
