If it wasn’t for narrow minds jinjer would not be as big as they are and that is just straight facts. It’s the shock factor in Pisces that made their claim to fame.
4:45 hi , since you asked...sound engineer here. So first of all "one take" means no cuts in the song. There could still be some other recordings and they pick the best take to publish.
The instruments are from a backtrack mix. She definitly has in ear monitoring from the headphones and the backtrack. So that she knows how she sounds and to keep time etc. As far as sound, if you would standing next to her, it would sound a bit different obviously but different not meaning worse.
That been said. Its 100% legit singing and also varies from the original is some small ways in terms of singing (pronouncing the words). i cant really pick up on any autotune or delay also no backvocals here.
Again , the sound we hear is the combined mix of the mic feed and the backtrack with obviously small adjustments in output (what we hear) volume mixing, processing, equalizer etc.

Fellow recording engineer here. I agree with a lot of what YotaXD said. And what we hear is absolutely all her & she is fully capable of doing this all in one continuous take. She's undeniably an extremely gifted vocalist. What I personally DO question is IF the audio we hear is from this actual video. Meaning they may be from different takes. Also, right off the bat I noticed how close she is to the mic & that there's no pop stop filter used. And this song has a lot of P's, D's, B's, T's & S's in it. As far as processing goes I'm thinking there's only some compression to help "smooth" out the vocal performance & some light delay to help "thicken" the vocal. But the delay is so slight that u couldn't hear it unless the backing music track were to be muted.
@@thommyjacobs8921 I thought about that too. At one point she holds the mic stand too, which usually generates so much low end noise, even when the mic is in "the cradle" like that. It's not impossible to clean all that after, but... Yeah :D
That is a straight recording into the microphone with only the compressor turned on. so there's no multitracking it's not cleaned up there's no pitch correction there's no timing correction nothing like that The only thing that's happening there is they are compressing the maximum peaks to keep it inside of a single volume envelope more or less. You can tell it's pretty much straight if you listen to her screams when they end and she says things like punishment you can really like feel you can hear the air extra air being pushed right into the microphone normally that would be cleaned out.

and it isn't even in a studio, it is probably at Alex Lopez's house with just a blanket hung as a backdrop. I'm 99% sure that's his cat. That said, I feel like it has to have been cleaned up a bit, because if I record anything at home I get all kinds of traffic sounds and stuff, unless he's got a basement...maybe, or this was 2am. Or 2am in the basement.

I noticed it in this video, and in other female artists recordings where it sounds like their real voice peeking out at either end of words and sentences.
There is a small delay or reverb added, can't tell which. You can hear it at 0:35 on the official video ( ua-cam.com/video/Q5rg_63Shqg/v-deo.html ). That's a pretty standard thing to do in editing. Her voice sounds natural, though. Compressed a bit, tiny bit of reverb or delay, and good to go.

It is a studio recording where the vocals are run through similar processing any other singer would use and there are backing tracks. You can hear the doubling of the voice in the background. But that doesn't mean they are trying to fool you. That's just how recordings are made. I believe the voice you are hearing is pretty much what you'd hear if you were in that vocal booth with her. Her ability to switch between those voices that smoothly is real. This isn't Milli Vanilli trickery in any way. She's not lip syncing.

The music is a recording. This is the audio take of her vocal recording, in one take. There my be effects on her mic. but no post effects. You'll hear a lot of echo or doubling effects effects on her vocal tracks. These are live effects in equalization. Not post effect editing. You here that in the Pisces video too. It's just the way they equalize her mic.

The gal has a gift and she knows how to use it, amazing voice and performer and their band fits together like a glove. Absolutely love the reggae, ska groove in parts of the song and would love to hear more of that in upcoming releases.

1. This is not the vocal recording from the album release, I believe it is new, done for the 1 year Anniversary of the release of "Judgement and (Punishment). 2. No cleaning up, no layering (like in Pisces (Live), or vocal backing tracks,......All her, her mic, and some compression. I think she was even impressed with herself.
She and the band do live recording all the time and she and the band sound straight up clean everytime and they sound just the same live in show mean that is what she is about they are crazy so yeah maybe it might be cleaned up but ive been recording for awhile and I liten to live shows verse video it is the exact same she knows her shit

Tati is still in Califoenia with her boyfriend Alex Lopez, drummer of Suicide Silence. She has been here all quarantine. Her visa ends at the end of August. Jinjer has 6 shows in Germany in September at venues that have been holding shows. This is her rehearsing to pre-recorded backing tracks of the band to get sharp again. Eugene returned last week and had his first rehearsal right off the plane. The Jinjer UA-cam channel has video of their 2nd rehearsal. That's a single take. Tati is just that damn good. Tons of talent. And damn girl...

Her significant other (I'm pretty sure that's his cat, at least it belongs to his household since it has only appeared in her pics on IG since she's been staying with him on lockdown) is the drummer for a metal band that does growling vocals, so he's probably so used to it he might not even notice haha. Seriously, I sometimes forget she's growling unless she goes all of the way down to her vomiting-in-a-bucket growls like on Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev. (quick check of your videos) oh dammmm you haven't done PoC - the live in Kiev is a must. Most savage growls of anything they've released. It is about her mental health struggles and it make _me_ feel like I need therapy.

This is pretty much how she sounds live man. Except live they have their presets for doubling and layering while this is just a voice, a mic and your standard compressor so the screams are the same volume as the cleans.

Thank YOU for introducing me to this band - Im a 40 -something old rock fan (and rap, but rock first) who fell into reaction videos recently and loved watching you (and others) react to RATM, and then System of a Down (tool/disturbed etc), stuff I heard and bought when it was new (bought RATM's first CD when I was 14 in 1992)..and I never heard of this band somehow...so you have turned me onto a new rock band...keep doing what you do.

So I haven't read all the comments and I don't know if it's been said, but the slow clean parts of the music are the exact same heavy crunch parts. They just added distortion. The music itself is the same tempo and the same sound just a different tone.
