When a U.S. F-18 SH0T DOWN a Su-22 during the Syrian War

On June 18, 2017, in the midst of the Syrian Civil War, a controversial incident occurred in which a U.S. Navy F/A-18E plane confronted and shot down a Syrian Su-22 Fitter aircraft. The Eastern plane had allegedly carried out an attack on positions held by the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces in the city of Ja'Din, theoretically making it the target of a violent response. As a consequence of the reported offensive, a U.S. plane made the decision to first warn and then attack the enemy aircraft.
