    You're really good at describing scents. I think it is because you have had so much experience. So glad you are a part of the community. You offer a lot of insight. Thanks.

    Enjoyable review Ata. Just sampled this about 30 minutes ago.
    I'm encouraged that you feel that this fragrance needs time, a lot of time to morph into it's different personalities. Initially, my first impression was that of intense fresh roses and powdery candied sugar; quite sweet and very feminine. Now at a half hour, there seems to be some anise peeking through as the sweetness subsides and the complexity builds.
    You've reenforced my need to be patient with concoctions such as this one !

    @silverpunk2427 Kevin, Aldehyde is one note, also it can be an accord as well. There are naturally occuring aldehydes out in the nature but mainly aldehydes are obtained via an organic chemical reaction called "hydroformylation." There are naturally occuring aldehydes in nature too, cilantro contains natural aldehydes.

    Great review. I'm still a little confused about aldehydes. I was under the assumption they were a synthetic blend of chemicals to create one unique note. I have cdg 2man and it lists woody aldehydes as a note.

    @gotterhaus Rose Loukoum is delicious :-) Rahat Loukoum is a very sweet fragrance and if you don't like very gourmandy frag, then don't try it! Se Majeste La Rose has a bit of turkish rose in the drydown as far as I remember but I'll re-visit it again soon. Sarrasisn is feminine, it is a better, more modern, and upgraded version of A La Nuit. I almost purchased it since I love the bottle and the juice color. It is great that you are into frags, I do enjoy this alot :)

  • @fristpartisan
    @fristpartisan  13 років тому

    @gotterhaus A La Nuit wow, that is a great jasmine based fragrance. If you like A La Nuit, I would like to ask you to try another serge lutens fragrance called "Sarrasins" Purple Juice in dah bottle! A bit too feminine for me but If you love A La Nuit, you will truely enjoy Sarrasins. I have tried all of those and I highly recommend you trying both la myrrhe and a fragrance that I mentioned called "Rahat Loukoum."

    my dad his that fragrance, but i dont like it. he is very into cologne and im starting to get into it also and he has a lot of niche and designer fragrances so ive smelled a lot of cologne. la myrrhe is one of the fragrances in his collection that i dont like at all it smells weird to me. im only 17 though so maybe in the future when i get older it might come to like it.
