My hair is a similar length and low porosity...
I do almost the same process...I just use claw clips to hold each section...then I wash and condition each section. I put conditioner in each section after double washing and then leave each section up in the claw clip followed by a leave in, in each section after all while in the shower. This has worked really well for me and I've developed a consistent routine which natural youtubers say is a key step to length retention

A routine I can get with. My hair is very similar to yours. I found the deep conditioner work better when you apply them similarly to how devacurl products are applied. Constantly saturate it with water while combing the product through. Game changer.

@@dolapoolalekan3405it could be breakage. Same thing happened to me for 6 years but I started moisturizing more often(every 2 days), wearing low manipulative/loose styles, using little/no heat, and being gentler to my hair on wash days or whenever else I was manipulating it.

Thank you so much for sharing this. My desire to grow out my natural hair for a year with a protective style - weave turned into 5 years and i just took it out. I held out for so long and didn't relax my edges, but I gave in last year and now the ends of the front of my hair are straight and I feel so naked with my 4C hair and overwhelmed. I want to know if this washing process took longer than 2 hours and how often you have to do it. I am feeling pretty overwhelmed and almost ready to go back into my weave and have no idea how to style my hair, but I'm pretty sure my puff won't be as big as yours. 😥 I need a #hairapist. Do you know any?

      @@corevocalpowerHAIR GROWTH
Low maintenance. No tight hairstyles. No pulling. Avoid stylists who don't know what they are doing. Let your hair breathe and see fresh air and sun. Daily moisture. Weekly deep conditioning and moisturizer. Monthly protein treatment. Don't change hairstyles very often. No heavy extensions rubbing against your ends causing them to split and pulling your hair from the scalp. Patience. Wait 3 to 4 years while doing ALL the above.

I lost my Dad in August of 2022 and decided to cut my hair to pay respect; my hair (4c natural) is over a year now and everything’s been good until I had a hairstylist braid my hair 😢 as I loosened the braids my hair went crazy, it became too soft and breaks badly (like I could pull my hairs out by just touching them 😢)
My hair is not giving at all! I don’t even know what else to do; I’ve been contemplating cutting my hair but 😢
Please would you know something I could do 🥺

I’m telling you- if you got extra/used hair from braids or twists, then use that! Works so much better than a shoelace and is easier on your hair. Just separate a piece of hair, like you’re getting ready to add it in.
