I'm going to say again what one guy said in some previous videos. These tutorials feel like it's illegal to enjoy them. OMG the quality and content, everything is perfect. I am learning so much with you, Thanks!!!!
Wow... From the hundreds of tutorials I've seen this year about VFX/3D, this series is mind-blowing. Amazing didactics, well paced and comprehensive. Thanks for making it available for free and taking the time off course to create it!
I've been through a lot of courses and you find worse material for beginner Houdini for hundreds of dollars than this. This is not only free, but also so top tier that it is mind-blowing. A natural instructor and teacher which makes Houdini a bit easier to understand. Thank you for the series
You are incredible talanted mantor, you can explain difficult things in a simple words, I mean it. I know what I'm talking about, I tried to learn houdini several times. Thank you for your tutorials, it's literaly amazing! Please don't stop!
I've been using Houdini for about 3.5 years now and this may be the most helpful and insightful video that i've seen yet. So much covered here that everyone should get familiar with before diving into simulations and complex tutorials. I feel that way about all of your Houdini is Hip videos. Thank you!
11:06, its adding that light to the end of the chain, and not down a branching chain. I do have the import node highlighted when I CTRL click the area light.
Amazing - this is like the take system in C4D but way more intuitive and flexible. It's like the ultimate look dev environment. One of the things I miss about Clarisse IFX was this type of workflow.
Hello, could you leave the link to download the materials? Thank you very much for everything, my dream is to become a vfx artist and I will never forget how I started.
Very informative, thank you. Now how would you do if you were breaking chunks of the table for the texture...? Baking the image sequence onto the objects (chunks) by projection?
Nice that you are back do enjoy your tutorials. You mentioned during videos that a link would be provided for the files - I have not seen a link - Is there one and I have missed it?
isnt it possible to see shadows in karma render view , ref 29:24 ? or at least is there any way to render object with shadow ( combined ) directly inside houdini ?
Great tutorial, and you have a great understanding of Houdini and other 3D software. As a beginner how much time did you devote to get to this kind of expertise in 3D software?
@@skyex Vimeo has that feature, and it's saved me in the past haha. It's very odd UA-cam couldn't easily implement that feature :/. Kind of sucks but oh well.
Question: If I have assigned materials to different groups using multiple Material nodes in Obj > Geo level, can I retain those groups in Solaris in the Material Library? thanks
Where can we get the final version of the donut file? There's so much more detail in the final and I'm interested in comparing the settings in what I created vs what you did so I can see the differences.
why my render quality is too low when i used live action footage (fbx camera). there is no camera setting for f-stop and focus distance result i get is only blur sequence (exr file )how do i get the better result?
You went over the compositing part really quickly, can you please do an indepth on the compositing inside Houdini? Atleast to get a single frame of our donut + real-world image!
When I look through Karma viewport, the render is ok but when I switch into Solaris stage with rendered image at Sceneimport node, the image looks blurried and object is out of focus. What might cause this, anyone please?
One thing, mentor moieen syeed, I can do this on nukex too with camera tracker also i can see you are doin here "adding object", could please explain what is the difference between these two? This is making me confuse so much! in recent project in houdini foundation of helicopter explosion i see the mentor girl is also adding object in the scene with this method! then what's the usage of nuke? why people don't just use hud for adding object?
Does anyone know where to get the file from perhaps? I know he mentioned right at the beginning that it would be in the comments/description but I don't see it.
Hey! Laptops are generally not going to be powerful enough for large-scale simulations unless you get a high-end laptop. If possible, a PC will serve you a lot better. Most artists avoid using laptops for simulations. However, if you really want to go for a laptop, I would say that you should prioritize a decent CPU, RAM and storage. Gaming laptops are a decent option but are often overpriced. Otherwise, the best option IMO would be a workstation laptop like the MSI WE76, but honestly, at that price, I'd rather look into a desktop PC which can be controlled remotely through a much cheaper laptop. However, if you are only planning on doing small to medium simulation and using the laptop for other Houdini work, you can get away with something with around 32GB of RAM, an i5 CPU or better, 1TB SSD. I hope that helps!
I appreciate your content, however I don't think your audience needs to see anything more than your face/portrait, with a smaller screen dedicated to yourself. Right now this setup feels too intrusive compared to your older videos. Thanks for the info.
The ***Best*** explanation about USD, (specially inside Houdini) that I've never seen on internet ! ....very clear, very *LOGIC*, finally very comprehensive so very useful , even for a french guy ! (sorry for my too bad english). ...finally !!! ..not this kind of auto-satisfied guru's conversations like this """"'(Û ¥¶½@Ýß)*.¬)""" , that you leave after 10%..feeling even dumber than before...(I even suspect them to not understand themselves the *LOGIC* of what they are trying to explain...). Thanks , you are a -real professor-. ..i feel really smarter now (I mean, about USD... ;O)); its a pleisure to listen you, you take time to explain the underground LOGIC of all things. NB: and also thank you for not adding background "music"...... ;O)

Totally....
This is a benchmark in how to teach .

Every time you switch to the rendered donut, you laugh a little. That's because it looks like a turd, isn't it? 😂

The greatest teacher uploaded yet another banger🙏
I definitely want to learn about solaris! You make the best Houdini tutorials!
That's awesome! loved the live part
These tutorials are so great! I would love to see an advanced shading tutorial. Or further exploration of Houdini labs stuff!
11:06, its adding that light to the end of the chain, and not down a branching chain. I do have the import node highlighted when I CTRL click the area light.
This one of the greatest Tutorials I've seen. Well spoken, very educational and professionell.

Thank you very much for everything, my dream is to become a vfx artist and I will never forget how I started.
Finally!!! Thanks for another awesome tutorial, I was waiting for weeks. ❤
I apologize if i am being silly, but where are the project files? I am not seeing them.
Great series. Where can I find the link to the project file?
Great tutorial series!
please where can i download the final form of the donut?
Thank you
@NineBetween Thank you for that awesome lesson, any chance to get project files you mentioned during camera tracking part? Please
Great explanation of Solaris!
I NEED MOREEEEEEEE
Very informative, thank you. Now how would you do if you were breaking chunks of the table for the texture...? Baking the image sequence onto the objects (chunks) by projection?
I love it, man!

Solaris is a must
Love these tutorials, is it possible you could add the files? I'm interested in diving into the live action integrated shot
Great tutorial, and you have a great understanding of Houdini and other 3D software. As a beginner how much time did you devote to get to this kind of expertise in 3D software?
This channel is not getting the recognition it deserves.
Thanks, so useful...
Really awesome series, for a complete beginner it's a treasure.
I can't find the download files, could you please direct me
Thanks
Where’s the link to the project files for donut in lesson 4?
Where is the download link I would love to have a copy of the link to make a rendering!
Great tutorial, as always! Quick notice, at 18:34 there's a typo in the text overlay-Karam instead of Karma
Thanks! Unfortunately, UA-cam would require me to take the video down to correct that 🥲
@@NineBetween Oof, there's no versioning system in place? That seems like a feature they should have.

Kewl, I've already learned a few new Solaris tricks and it's only part 5 :)
also how to load image sequence in camera inside Stage level, camera and image sequence which is in object level ?
Such a shame Houdini does not have any camera tracking functionality. Would be a killa feature.
Does anyone know where to get the file from perhaps? I know he mentioned right at the beginning that it would be in the comments/description but I don't see it.
May I know where I can find the project files for the starting of this tutorial?
I'm having an error when render frame range saying : no render camera defined in renderPassState any one knows the solution ?
HOW did you track it
How to export FBX or ABC (not USD) camera from Solaris?
Hey what kind of laptop would you recommend for houdini especially doing fluid sims

now make that particle fall from the object pls i am begginner and don't know how :( 😂😅
You forgot to share the project files :(
yesssss :( he didn't upload those files
download?
So far i've found C4D to be superior in every way than Houdini.
if i ever get past the WALL, it will largely be your fault, thank you
