"Felix Kjellberg, also known as PewDiePie - who is the most popular creator in the history of UA-cam with 49.6 million subscribers and counting - has just made a rather remarkable vow: When he hits 50 million subscribers, Kjellberg said in a video on Friday, he plans to delete his channel. And it looks like he means it.
Kjellberg released the video, titled Deleting My Channel At 50 Million, in response to a wonky subscription box epidemic that has beset UA-cam before and seems to be plaguing the platform anew in recent weeks. Many creators are complaining that their subscriptions have plummeted recently, and many fans have noted that videos are not showing up in their subscription boxes. UA-cam, for its part, says that nothing out of the ordinary is happening on its end.
These issues seemed to make themselves manifest in Kjellberg’s recent daily vlogging project, which he abandoned mid-way through after noting that it took an exhausting toll on his psyche. However, in the new video (below), Kjellberg clarifies that a viewership drop on the vlogs also dissuaded him from forging onward."*

I mean Ana keeps bringing up how much money he makes, but that may not be true in the future. Keep in mind back in the day animation channels were huge, then UA-cam changed the algorithm and killed all the channels in that genre even the really big ones. It's not inconceivable that that could happen to channels like Pewdiepie's.

Yes Pewds makes a lot of money. BUT he is also incredibly charitable. Jacksepticeye, Markiplier, Pewdiepie, and many other big UA-camrs haven't lost themselves in the money aspect... They do what they do for the love of it. They don't lead big, spectacular lives of waste... Actually, they live rather modestly for their incomes and donate A LOT. Also, it won't surprise me one bit if he really does delete his account. And props to him for taking a stand and having the confidence in his fan base to come right back and support him in making the statement he feels he needs to. I can say, for example, that my son and I are loyal fans of Sean and Mark and active members of their WONDERFUL communities. We genuinely care about them and their continued success. SO, not only can they count on us following them to a new channel... We'd follow them to an entirely different platform if necessary.

Did you even watch the video? He's not upset just because he didn't get 2 million views, he's upset because UA-cam changed the algorithm or something and it stopped recommending some channels' videos (his included). His view count from suggested videos dropped from ~50-60% to 0.2%. That would freak anyone out no matter their channel size. Some accounts have even been unsubbed without their knowledge.
This was all explained pretty clearly in the video that you took a clip from.

Whenever I see a list of the top 10-20-30 something UA-camrs, almost all I see is a list of channels I've never heard of and would never consider visiting.

He has not been in Sweden for a while. He moved to Brighton in England with his Italian girlfriend back in 2013 after having moved between Sweden and Italy a few times after meeting her. He stared up a group called Revelmode earlier this year with a bunch of other UA-camrs to raise money for charity as well. The group has Irish, British and American members.

He wont delete shit, he just tries to stay relevant. He appeals to the largest youtube demographic - kids under 15. From a perspective of an adult gamer i find his content absolute garbage filled with overacting and hyper gimmicks. While growing up there comes a point when you lose interest in content without a message or an idea.

I've always been a fan of this channel, but this video kinda bothers me. You guys talked about other people taking things he said out of context, but that's exactly what you guys are doing. He's not just talking about himself. He's talking about other channels, big and small. I'm subscribed to several UA-camrs that this is affecting, and it bothers me that the channel designed to provide us with unbiased facts, is taking things out of context and criticizing for it.
Pewdiepie, as you said, has 50,000,000 subscribers. It makes sense that he would get at least 2 million views per video, and when suddenly that's not happening, that seems strange.

Yes, I'm in the Pewds age group of those who watch his content and I've seen it a few times a in the past and now again yesterday and I don't understand the appeal myself. I don't find his videos entertaining but I do find them very well edited. His editing team do a fantastic job though.

There is a difference between a UA-camr and corporations/businesses
They want to make profit from working in this country, from benefiting from public services like roads and utilities, they have to pay back into the system. If they don't want to, they can start their own country somewhere else.
