I have always respected Margaery, she would be a great queen. It is a pity that her fate will ended in a Great Sept of Baelor. I will miss her.

She was conniving, intelligent, politically astute - and also empathetic, kind, humble, and good natured. That is a good combination for a queen. So sad she was murdered because it was not her fault and completely out of her control. I always felt she and Robb would have been perfect together.

@hanna sonia wouldn't that blanace them out? One of them would be more intelligent than the other and guide them to victory. Talisa brought him destruction, because she did not know the ways of the game. Margaery would have easily been the political leader and Robb would led the military because he was made for fighting.

I still Think that Margaery and Jon would be better... But with Robb, his arc would be longer. At least Margaery knew how to make allies and would make the people favoring Robb. Considering that Queen of the north love, respect, took care of the injuries would shake Kingslanding ability to response. After All Cersei or Joffrey were not know for those things. Having the Tyrell Army supporting Robb, that would be difficult to survive...

Yeah, I love this quote. I love how Margaery is good, lovely lady and very ambitious person in the same time. There aren’t so many positive characters who are ambitious too in popculture, usually ambition is the domain of villains, what I find stupid, because of course there’s a possibility of being ambitious and nice. Margaery is a good proof. I love her so much, I’m identifying with her, she’s my absolutely favourite character in this show. ❤️🌹

@@deansmith9914 I disagree on it, she did well on both Renly and Joffrey. Renly might going to be king ,as all alliances back him up against Stanis, unless Stanis' ghost kill him. In case of Joffrey she cleverly controlled him better than Cercei. And she wasn't part of his killing only Olena and Littlefinger was. She deeply cared for her family but also others as she can easily snuck out of that hall but she alerted eveyone and tried to get out with her brother.

However, I believe that if Dany and Margery would have met, it wouldn’t of ended well for Margery, they both wanted the iron throne more than anything and a soon as Cerci would have been out the picture Dany would have got Margery too. Since Margery would have refused to bend the knee.

Margaery was a mixture of kind yet cunning to me. She was very manipulative, intelligent and ambitious in wanting to be queen but none of her schemes ever resulted in anyone getting hurt. She gave people win win solutions where they would get something they wanted and be safe from the results and not just herself and her family. And she never betrayed those people either or got them killed, unlike with what Cersei did. She wasn’t destructive or cruel to anyone and fought off evilness with kindness and politeness and I really liked that about her. She may not have cared for the smallfolk but she did show herself to still take care of them and kept them clothed and fed for publicity. If her schemes resulted in the poor being fed and Westeros being a better place as queen, I would’ve been totally down with her being queen, even if that kindness was fake. Most of her schemes and manipulations resulted with good results, win wins, and never got anyone killed and because of that, I believe she had good intentions for Westeros and would’ve made a great queen. She showed herself to be a very decent person overall.
Not just that but Margaery has shown herself to genuinely care for some people.
It’s quite clear she loved her family very deeply. She loved her brother, Loras and was extremely tolerant of his homosexuality. She even lied to protect her brother and that caused her to get imprisoned remember? She did everything she could think of to get him out of prison and even in her final moments she was trying to get him out of the sept of Baelor with her before it exploded remember? In the end she really cared for her brother. She also has a strong bond with her grandmother, Olenna and in the end, she kinda saved her life because if she hadn’t have told Olenna to go home, than she would’ve appeared at the trial and would’ve gotten blown up as well along with the other Tyrells. And Margaery also loved her father, Mace as well but that could’ve been a little less love. In the end you can’t deny Margaery loved all of her family members and did everything she could to keep them safe. I think all she was doing in season 6 was trying to protect them from the High Sparrow.
And as for Margaery and the three kings she married, it’s clear she loved none of them and were just ways for her to be queen, but I believe she had a genuine feeling for each of them.
Renly Baratheon: When she wed him, do remember she gave him and Loras no hate in having a relationship behind her back. She knew perfectly well what Renly was like and was very accepting and understanding of his reluctance to sleep with her. She even told him to do whatever he wanted with Loras so long as he gets her pregnant. In the end I think she was genuinely fond of the man because she did seem to like his tourneys he hosted right?
Joffrey Baratheon: It’s clear that Margaery hated Joffrey very much because you could tell that she looked disgusted at his behavior at their wedding feast. But she had to tolerate his evil ways in order to control him. But she wasn’t just trying to get on his good side. She actually was trying to get Joffrey to make better choices as the king because she got him popular with the people of King’s Landing and taught him to actually be loved and not feared remember? Even in their wedding she got him to decree to make all the leftovers be given to the poorest of King’s Landing. Maybe all manipulative but that was something Joffrey should have done in the beginning because in order to be a good ruler you have to take care of your subjects instead of trying to be feared and kill them right? And the little queen was trying to get Joffrey to do that. I don’t think Margaery liked Joffrey at all but I saw that she was a very good influence for him in the end. And that shows that Margaery actually had good intentions as queen as well right?
Tommen Baratheon: I think Margaery had the most affection for him. I don’t think she loved him like he did but it was clear that she genuinely liked him. Because despite Tommen being naive he still did have a sweet, kind hearted, caring personality and since he was a very sweet boy, she probably grew to like him because of that throughout their marriage. Plus if Margaery could love her father who was very foolish and naive than she probably could grow to care for her husband as well because Tommen was also very naive and foolish just like her dad and she loved him. In other words Tommen probably reminded her of her dad and grew to have affection for him because of that. Not just that but she also gave Tommen win win solutions in her schemes whenever she manipulated him and kept him happy and safe from the results and not just herself and her family. And she never did betray Tommen even during the sparrow fiasco or put him in danger in her schemes either did she? In the end, although she feigned an attraction to Renly and Joffrey, I believe she genuinely cared for Tommen in the end and may have loved him as a little brother in their marriage. At least 60% of me think she did anyway.
As for her relationship with Sansa Stark, despite her having an ulterior motive with her, she never put Sansa in danger in any of her schemes and never hurt her did they? When she and Olenna plotted to marry Sansa to Loras, yes they knew that if the marriage happened than they would have some control over the North, but they also knew that if Sansa had married Loras, than she would’ve been happier and safer in Highgarden than in King’s Landing and that she would’ve been with a kind, decent husband in Loras. Remember despite him being into men Loras is very kind and chivalrous when he doesn’t need to and I don’t think he had any intentions on mistreating or abusing Sansa if they had wed. At best they could’ve become good friends if they married and they would probably have a good relationship together. Overall Sansa would’ve been safe and happy with the result of marrying Loras and not just the Tyrells and Margaery knew that as well. Plus, Margaery was still choosing to spend time with Sansa even after that plan failed and consoled her on her forced marriage to Tyrion. That shows that Margaery actually cared about Sansa because if she really didn’t care, than she would’ve abandoned the girl after she found out that Sansa has to marry a Lannister now because there is no longer any benefit in befriending Sansa now that she is to be a Lannister soon. But Margaery never abandoned Sansa though, has she? Plus, at the Purple Wedding, she did try to get Joffrey away from Sansa and Tyrion right? I think one of the reasons she did that was so she could keep her control over Joffrey but I also think another reason was because she felt genuinely bad for Sansa and Tyrion and wanted to keep the peace at her and Joffrey’s wedding. Because of all that, I believe Margaery genuinely cared for Sansa to an extent and really was her friend in the end. Especially since she never betrayed her or put her in danger. The reason why the game of thrones is so miserable and terrible is because Cersei played the Game of Thrones exactly as it was meant to be played. It's an evil game that begets suffering, and Cersei was well-suited for it. The only thing that could defeat her willingness to do anything was power. Pure power, which Dany had.

I think she was the only person after Petyr Baelish who was actually really smart, smarter than Varys, even. Her only downfall was that her opponent had no moral compass. She outsmarted Joffrey, Cersei (on multiple occasions), the high sparrow(even when Cersei couldn't and had to do the walk of shame), and also figured out Cersei 's plan when no one else could in the sept. The only reason she died was because she was not allowed to leave and was killed by a power driven, jealous women who stupidity caused her to uplift the High Sparrow. Hell, she managed to even get Sansa out of Kings Landing, safety by marrying her to Loras, even if it was a political move to get the girl to safety. At least she died with the person she loved a lot, her brother. But god, watching this makes me hate Cersei so much more and poor Tommen, Marcella, Margery, Loras, and so many people, good and pure people had to die cause because she was a fucking overpowered idiot, which she is still. I really hope R.R. Martin does Margery justice in the books. But in terms of the show, Margery did die, but she was never defeated.

Margaery and Anne were both firey, hungery for love, lust and power. Anne met her fate with a sword and Margaery met hers with fire. Even at the very end, both were brave and faced their fate with the certainty that their deaths were brought on by people who hated her. With Anne, cromwell made sure she would have her downfall so Henry could be with Jane Seymore and with Margaery, Cersi rigged the sept with Wildfire, didn't attend her own trial with Tommen and made sure her 'enimies' were disposed.
R.I.P Margaery Tyrell and Anne Boleyn. Two queens both of hearts and bravery.
Also, both characters brothers were gay which is fecking awesome!

The only similarities Margaery and Anne had were both of them wanting to be the queen, both genuinely loving their families, and both being extremely intelligent and ambitious. Also both had fathers who desired for them to be queen. I feel like they had more differences than similarities.
First off, Margaery was a queen who was loved by the people while Anne was a queen who was hated by many.
And Margaery had a father who genuinely loved and cared for her despite having a lust for power, while Anne had a father who just seemed disappointed in her and loved power more than his own children. He may have loved Anne in a weird way in childhood but when she became the Queen of England and Ireland, he was just always angry at her.
Plus, Margaery’s brother Loras was 100% gay I think while George was bisexual since he raped Jane Rochford, had many female lovers, and was with the singer, Mark Smeaton.
Also, Margaery truly loved all of her family members and I think she may have actually cared about some other people she met to an extent while Anne only loved her brother George, her cousin Madge, her husband, King Henry, her daughter Elizabeth and she did seem to genuinely like Mark Smeaton as a friend but that was it. She didn’t seem to love her sister, Mary that much because she hated that she married for love without her consent. She may have had some pity for her but nothing else probably. And she never did seem to get along with her father much either. I don’t think she hated her dad but I don’t think she loved him as much as her brother and Henry.
Not only that, but when it came down to scheming, Margaery’s plans always made others happy, kept them safe, and they benefited a lot from the results while Anne’s schemes involved Henry to divorce Queen Catherine, who truly loved him deeply, and get Mary to become a bastard child temporarily when she didn’t even do anything to harm her. She wanted lots of people to die even though they never wronged her much.
There may be some similarities between the two queens but I think there were more differences.

Natalie Dormer is an enchanting human being and honestly this character was written for her. Margery was so smart, and so incredibly beautiful and so delicate and interestingly clever. She never hurt anybody, as well as Loras. Olenna must feel so heartbroken, she lost her beloved and pure kids for nothing, and honestly they deserved better.

If those 2 had a reunion, Sansa would probably have figured out that the Tyrells were using her and didn’t really care about her as much as they said they did. But with some explaining from Margaery, Sansa might’ve believed that she at least genuinely liked her in a way as a friend but just wouldn’t do anything risky for her. As for Olenna, she would probably dismiss her completely and think of her as a traitor for framing her. For Loras, she would just be over him by that time because she would’ve found out he was gay and as for Mace(Margaery and Loras’s father), she would just see him as a fool.

    • @garlantyrell6368
      @garlantyrell6368 Рік тому +2

Margaery was kind but calculating and manipulative as well. Every move she made was a power move for her to become queen and for her family and house to grow stronger. She was able to develop many facades to manipulate people and was even able to tame the cruel Joffrey and trick the High Sparrow.
But despite her manipulative nature, I do think she showed herself to be genuinely kind and compassionate to certain people sometimes. She loved her family very much and had good relationships with them all. She did everything she could to get her brother, Loras out of prison in season 6 and even saved her grandmother, Olenna’s life. She probably loved her father as well, despite him being foolish because it is implied that Mace had a loving relationship with his children throughout the show.
I believe she also had genuine concern and sympathy for Sansa in season 3 because she offered her a way out of King’s Landing by proposing for her to marry her brother. That plan was a power move because if Loras had married Sansa than the North would fall to the Tyrells sooner or later if Robb was to fall, thus strengthening their house. But Margaery knew that Sansa also would’ve benefited greatly if she had married her brother because Loras was kind and chivalrous and I don’t think he had any intentions on bringing any harm to Sansa and he also seemed to have some genuine empathy for her as well when they were talking about their supposed wedding. Loras would’ve treated Sansa well gay or not and he probably would see her as a little sister or as just a friend in their marriage. Overall, I feel like Sansa would be very happy and safe in her marriage to Loras and Margaery knew that. Plus, even after the plot failed, Margaery still chose to spend time with Sansa even when she was forced to marry Tyrion and not Loras and consoled her on her position. Since there was no benefit in befriending the girl now that she was to marry a Lannister, Margaery could’ve abandoned Sansa after she found out the Tyrell plan failed but she never did that. Plus, at her wedding to Joffrey, she did try to get the sadistic king away from Tyrion and Sansa when he was tormenting them, meaning she didn’t want him to mess with them at all. In the end, I believe Margaery actually liked and cared for Sansa on some level or to an extent and really was her friend.
And although she was able to feign attraction to Renly and Joffrey, I think Margaery genuinely cared for Tommen in the end and really did want him to be safe and happy in their marriage, not just for her sake but for his sake as well. I don’t think she loved him like he did but I do think she liked him well enough because he was a kind, caring, compassionate child so she may have grown to have affection for him that way. Especially since her last husband was a psychopath. Plus, Margaery never put Tommen in any danger in her schemes and the results always made Tommen gain something and benefit greatly and not just herself. She showed herself to be a great influence for the boy and I think she would’ve gotten him to make the right decisions for Westeros if they she had the chance to train him. Plus, if Margaery could love her father and brother, who were both a little foolish and naive, I think she can grow to like and care for her husband, who was also like that. If she can love and care for fools in her family, than she can care about certain others outside of her family, I believe.
In the end, I feel like Margaery was kind but cunning in way and would’ve made a great queen. I think she truly loved her family and cared for Sansa and Tommen on some level in a way.

That’s why Queen Margaery didn’t deserve to die the way she did. Unlike all of the other game players she never brought any harm to anybody she met, not even to Cersei. All she did was try and send her away. She could have just straight up got her and the other Lannisters killed to get more power once her and Tommen wed but never did that. Margaery was very politically smart, manipulative, cunning, and ambitious but had a soft spot for her family as evidenced in seasons 5 and 6 and I think she actually liked Sansa and Tommen well enough also. I don’t think she was heartless enough to not have any affection for those 2 at all. She seemed to genuinely pity them a lot.

What a tragic end for the beautiful House Tyrell... They didn't deserved this.
They were benevolent, kind, they had moral values and cared about their people. Yes they wanted power, but not at any cost like Cersei. They would have never kill or hurt anybody.
In fact, they never hurt anybody (except Joffrey but it was only Olenna and he deserved his fate). They were one of the only good House with the Starks. Sure Margaery manipulate, but she does it in a way so kind... And she really cared about Sansa and Renly. Loras and Margaery were the only person who gave Sansa good times in King's Landing. And even after they plan failed they continue to be kind with her. They liked her, it would have be awesome if their plan had worked.
And about Renly, Margaery wasn't in love with him, but she liked him (after all he was the lover of her brother).
Margaery is not JUST a manipulative. She was a kind person who wanted to spread the good in Westeros

    • @qcosteur

@@mg-cx5tv She was not just pretending, she really was kind and benevolent. She never did something that could hurt someone else.
Before the explosion, she could have try to go out alone with her father and brother, but no, she tried to save everyone. She is even shocked at Joffrey's death even if she know he is a monster. She accepted Renly and Loras homosexuality and has nothing against it. She is very open minded. And like I said, she continued to be friend with Sansa even after she married Tyrion. At the end, we can see she is tired of all of this. She just want to get her brother back and go home to Highgarden. Margaery IS kind, you cannot say the contrary. She is not bad or ruthless like Baelish or Cersei.
It's like with Renly. Peoples say Renly and Margaery are just power hungry but this is not true. They are also kind and benevolent. Both are young, good looking and charming. Both are very popular and loved by their people. Both are very smart and have a political mind. And like I said, they didn't had bad intentions. They were not ruthless or evil, they were among the most moral character in the show.

She would’ve made a great queen yes but I believe her kindness and smiles towards the poor were fake though because she was taught to ‘care’ for the homeless growing up because before she came to King’s Landing by her grandmother. Plus, she was completely fine with her father closing the roseroad when she was married to Renly. In the end, Margaery doesn’t really care about that the homeless I believe.
But I do think she had genuine love for her family though. She had good strong relationships with all of them and did everything she could to keep them safe in the end.
I also believe that Margaery genuinely cared for Sansa and Tommen to an extent because she gave them win win solutions in her schemes and never did put them in danger, did she? Plus, since those 2 were such pitiful characters sometimes, she probably felt some sort of sympathy for them.

Whenever I bump into this vid, it all comes back to me that they deserved so much better, especially Margaery who would have saved them all if she only had been in control at the moment. It will be diffcult to watch the Game conclude without The Queen. Once again, making me feel like this only proves how flawless your work is. Thank you.
