kind of obsessed that the person playing Dil was never revealed… that head comes out and whoever puts it on is absorbed like that’s the end of them. it’s just Dil now
It just warms my heart to see how your friendship with them has continued in one way or another for all these years. Its nice for someone to know that they have someone to make a coffin for them when asked 🖤⚰
I've only just started watching KickthePJ, but I've been watching Dan and Phil for ages. Now I'm curious, did PJ originally make the Dil head? I know it's been in existence for a while, but I must have missed the origin story of the Dil head.
Well, PJ and Sophie are confirmed to be the best possible neighbours. They exit the house with a coffin and then just bring it back in to use as a Halloween prop. You get endless entertainment just by looking out the window from time to time :D
so i used to work for a funeral director - most coffins that get used these days, especially for cremations, are made of MDF with veneer on the top. So I would say that you probably aren't the first person to make themselves an MDF coffin! The mouldings you used look a lot like the ones we had on the coffins, I think they were nailed on though not hot glued lol. One thing I would say is that most coffins have a fabric lining (usually just cheap satin) and padding underneath to hold the body in place. Oh and little engraved metal name plates on the top and either end!
My dad built a simple coffin with unfinished wood for Halloween one year and every year we let it “age naturally” by leaving it outside through the winter. Highly recommend.
I think the best part about this production is that you can tell how much fun everyone had on the day! I've watched the video about 5 times now I'm obsessed with the way it was shot, when I was watching it I thought it looked fun to shoot but seeing the behind the scenes completely surpassed what I was expecting!!! every one of you smashed it out the park u should all be super proud of yourselves
Sophie didn't play Dil, she's moving around the set when they're filming the scene with the lid and the hands don't look like Sophies - but I AM very curious who DID play him :D They all did an amazing job indeed!
I feel like the other shoppers would’ve been *so confused* if they were close enough to see this young couple at the hardware store with a sketched diagram of a coffin, picking out wood samples while filming themselves and being all bright and cheerful… 😆
PJ is so freaking cool dude seeing the creative process like this is so amazing too, from directing to building the coffin himself to voicing dil hes a master
pj is such a visionary. i love seeing the behind the scenes process, it must be so fun having creative friends lol too bad i was too nervous and self-conscious for theatre
Imagine having a friend like PJ, where you could just be like, “hey I need a coffin. can you build one?” And, having never built a coffin before, they come through
I kinda wanna see Dan and Phil doing some wood craft (no that's NOT a euphemism) while PJ and Sophie watch and instruct them. Assemble an IKEA furniture with these four adorable people? Please
I KNEW I RECOGNIZED YOUR VOICE IN THE VIDEO!!!! Seriously though, PJ, you did an amazing job on the coffin and in the director's chair. I have rewatched the Dan and Phil video more than a few times now because I just enjoyed the seeing the story unfold, and I would have watched this video so much sooner had I realized that it was actually full of behind the scenes footage. You, Sophie (Sofie?), Phil, and Dan all have such a great rapport on camera, I really hope that we will get to see more of you all collaborating in future videos!
everyone involved were literally the PERFECT people for the job, you guys all did incredible! the video came out soso good, and its fun to see behind the scenes too so thank you, PJ!
PJ this was insanely freaking incredible you did such a phenomenal job on making this for Dan and Phil amazing job on the making of the coffin as well and seeing Sean helping with this is so freaking cool.
i’m excited that you are involved ! you put so much of yourself in everything you do and i am getting emotional even writing that ! thank you pj (and sophie) for this huge project ! you went above and beyond expectations
clipping sean saying i blame the gays. Lol. Losing my mind this was so funny. Thank you for catching these little behind the scenes and for making such a nice coffin.
Congrats on being one of the million ppl to build props in your backyard, you are not alone lol I loved the green stage light! You did an amazing job directing.
I love imagining PJ's neighbours looking out of their windows and seeing all of the crazy stuff he does in that garden - painting on the walls, making coffins... who knows what'll be next??
my grandma's husband had a mate who casually built his own coffin in his back garden which sat there waiting for the day he died. I remember he showed it to us once, really stuck with me lol
You definitely saved a lot of money building a coffin instead of buying a real one. Not sure those materials would be OK to actually bury someone in, but there are people who make their own coffins, shrouds, etc., either for themselves or for their loved ones, and I think it's really cool! It lets you make it more personal and affordable.
BURY ME PJ!
I was so confused seeing your comment until it got to that part lol
I was gonna come down and apply for the giveaway but I think it's more fitting for you

Phil's potty mouth is probably WAY worse than Dan's.

Phil likely swears off camera all the time, he’s just preferred not to swear on his channel because he had a young audience in the beginning
Exactly what I was gonna comment haha
Fun fact, I learned the other day that my partner's grandfather used to build coffins. Not to sell or anything, just for fun.
jeez that story took a turn
just had a weekend off and wanted to learn a new hobby
It does look quite fun…
