- Me and my mate George went to the Bushcraft Camp to cook up some fresh Pheasant which George had shot on his farm. George shows you how he preps the Pheasant at camp, I get the fire going and we deep fry the bird in bread crumbs. We also have some beers too....

I really enjoyed the harvest and preparation of this wild meal
this is a real Survival show this is what you would really do after your freeze dried food ran out which wouldn't take very long to be a survivalist really good show
That's actually very interesting in Ireland we have a ton of pheasant but hardly no one shoots them
never had pheasant cooked this way, looked delicious!!!
A little tip, one hand for the egg, one hand for the breadcrumbs. Then you have at least one clean hand, and the breadcrumbs wont pile up on your fingers.
Stuart Watt ^^Protip!
Stuart Watt Couldn't have said it better myself . .
I love this channel as I’m from the UK so everything they do I know I can do
I’d rather listen to the sounds of fire making than the music, just my preference :) good video still tho
The Neeson's (=
I hate it with a passion...
This could be a sketch from the fast show!! It is so British country side it cannot be true!! Been a long time since Ive had pheasant....had a small cottage opposite the game keepers......free pheasant and duck on tap!!! I dont shoot, but I should, thats why I got a springer lol!! Still, nice to see a bird actually being prepared and cooked rather than just shot for fun! Great vid!
I'm not sure if anyone has commented yet, but the easiest way to see if your oil is hot enough is just add one drop of water...
Great video!
lol no better to drop in a toothpick
Eu aqui no Brasil estou babando de vontade de saborear essa comida.parabéns.voces sabem o q é bom.
That puppetry part was fantastic!
I am Montagnard jarai tribe i was grew up in the jungle Central highland of Vietnam , I love live in the wood the air so fresh and the food and vegetables is healthy. I love how you prefer the bird to grill my favorite food.
You'll find it much easier to pluck off the feathers,if you dip the pheasant into hot water.Just a few quick dip ! 😁
I've picked up pheasants off the road after being hit by a car and they are lovely eating, never fried one though I will have to try that. Nice video as always.
Now that's what I'm screamin'...lol. I got a bit of a different technique for chicken but it is kinda the same principle...when on the campfire...I need to shoot a video on that...very inspirational guys and very well done!
I'm loving my little husqvarna hatchet nice to see another one being used especially in such a well done up video
My Brother....I Very Like This your Video...Nice Food
Its the simple things that makes life worth living.
Awesome video mikey bit of a change and some gore and a nice guiness sorry I'm late watching I have busy at the campsite.
one cup of fried potatoes and onions oh yeah and so much I've seen it in the fried potatoes with that green beans with bacon in them good show guys
Good shit Maynard ! Please ignore any criticism about hurting poor animals & as long as you eat it its not needless killing. I`m looking forward to future cook outs. Thank You for sharing your video & bringing us along. ATB
Love the "Gun to gut" cooking could practically smell it, totally awesome !!
loved it, great video...especially for a midwest boy where the best pheasant hunting is in the US!
K EE .
Man the feathers are so beautiful
love this kind of life. wish we had woods in Namibia

Definitely a great and unique experience
Great Video Lads, well done
Again a brilliant video, you may of mentioned it, and probably did it, but although it's less likely in a game bird you must prevent Salmonella and Campylobacter cross contamination by washing your hands in hot soapy water after touching raw birds.
I used to work in a game and poultry shop in Shropshire and we used to use a blunt knife to trap the feathers against the thumb to pull out the feathers without ripping the skin, then used a blow lamp to singe the odd ones missed to make the bird presentable.
We all hated the ones that had been hung to go high, yuck.
Thanks for the video, it brought back fond memories
Great channel! I love observing nature, discover and meditate...
I like your fire craft bag.
Discussing ripping out the bird but when fried looks awesome like tda awesome
I'm hungry now lol. That looks mighty tasty. Mmmmmm.
Wow! What a great channel! One of my favorites! Good work guys!
I enjoy this video 🥰
I cannot believe I've not watched this video until now Mike. I thought I'd watched all of them, this was a really good video my friend, I really enjoyed watching it & I would love to try that, look after yourself & the family 🙂 ATB Andy 🙂🥃👍
Also mate use flour ,egg mixed with a small drop of milk then breadcrumbs with Chinese five spice ,salt and pepper.its good and the crumbs stick very well you can also add Cajun seasoning for a southern fried style try it with chicken the flour also helps the breadcrumbs stick to the chicken skin or phesant skin also use plain flour I hope this helps and I hope you try it its amazing.
You've inspired me to maybe try frying ptarmigan or grouse next time I'm out hunting! Looks like good eating. Take care.
Finally a video with real hunters! Please!
Amazing bushcraft fried chicken love love it.
Its not chicken
Haha awesome mate! Looks delicious. Heard that little "got food for days!"" In there, not sure if that's an homage to Alfie or not but it made me chuckle. Great video as always, cheers!
I would never have thought to deep fry something outside on a fire.
The thing with the tendons in the feet. My Dad used to buy Chickens and give the feet to me and my brothers. We used to chase the girls in our street with them. We didn't have many girlfriends when we were young.
Drynet putkimaal
Haha
Mmmm mouth watering already
Good video guys!
Man that stuff looks insanely good 5 star bush dinner eh
the shoting was very nice,I think I can not shot the bird even the bird just stand there.XD
guys you made us extremly hungry at this time :)
Dusting in flour before egging and breading helps to seal in the juices.
Must be a wonderful experience
Definitely a great and unique experience
Buck Bantam may not be a "standard hunting knife" :) though I do love mine, it's more of a EDC flimsy folding knife. Certainly works for pheasant.
Hello, i thought it was an excellent, very well detailed video. I would love to see some more like it.Greetings from Leeds, West Yorkshire..
It had really beautiful colours that bird- nice video too
Scandal japan
Lovely video, stay safe
You can avoid plucking the pheasant by putting it head down on the ground, stand on the wings and pull the legs up. It skins the whole bird and leaves you with a clean carcass.
What a beautiful bird
Thanks guys for hunting hen
Thanks for great video my friend im from VietNam i like your video
Another great video, thanks!
Tip dip the bird in boiling water first and then pluck it is a damn site easier.
After plucking keep it directly on top of 🔥 fire. That will eliminate remaining small feathers.
Yes, no good.
Für ein UA-cam Video ein Tier getötet 🤨😐🤔
I just take the whole skin off
Exactly what I thought
Rất tuyệt vời tôi rất thích xem những vidio này
Looks delicious my friend...
Cheers from NYC....
Good stuff guys. Keep it up!
A tip mate you can rip the skin open and pull it completely off you don't need to pluck feathers one by one you won't damage the meat at all its not brittle
well done fellas!!!!
Hi, I like your video...
your videos help me a lot:)
Watching this video I'm getting very hungry 😋. I love feasant and duck. I am a meat and potato man.
I once had a pint of cider that would have gone well with that meal, the cider was 'Pheasant Plucker' but I don't know if it's available only in Devon and Cornwall.
What I can say about the name is it's a spoonerism.
Great video.👏🏻👏🏻
great video keep up the hard work
M curious.. is it ok to butcher the meat right on your base!! Wudnt scavengers follow the smell n linger around ur tent..?? Like inviting scavengers
it all looked DANG good! thx!
awesome video as usual " better than KFC " I could almost taste it from Texas
enjoyed
Try dipping the bird to a boiling water for about 3 seconds, it's easier to pluck the feathers.
Very good
Delishes
Cool vid 😎👍
after flocking put the bird in the open fire so the excess fethers burn and the bird is clean well
jim johnder
I have that Buck knife, i see you're a man of good taste also
Beautiful bird
Wonderful start to video :v
Nice video. I've been wondering whether or not it's worth including mess tins in my cook kit. I want to be able to fry stuff on a fire as well as boil stuff. Is a classic mess tin the best tool for the job?
Well to be honest I forgot the frying pan, but actually I think the classic mess tin can both boil and fry things. The frying definitely worked here!
Thanks for the advice. Keep up the cool videos.😁
good work guys
Good video lads
Hey mate, to each they're own, but in my opinion you should have boiled some water and put the bird in there for about 10 seconds. It would have made it super easy to pluck the bird. Anyways, like I said before, to each they're own.
the water is enough for drink only. stop saying about boiling water
Excellent as always, keep it up!
love this video
pheasant and generally game have to have the intestines removed immediately after killing for hygienic reasons as the bird is dead the intestines are culturing harmful bacteria that can contaminate the meat, also when you remove the intestines need to be really careful not to pierce them and touch the internal flesh. In order to remove the feathers dip the bird in boiling water for 15-20 seconds and then clean it, small feathers can be burned, an important step is the maturing process before cooking as otherwise, the meat will remain hard and chewy; the first step is as soon the animal is killed to drain it from any blood by cutting the neck and hanging the bird to drain slowly, then remove the feathers and intestines and then hang it to mature in a cool place for 17-20 hour. Wash the bird very well by rubbing it with coarse salt and rinsing it with cold fresh water and vinegar. When cooking pheasant soak it in red wine and laura leafs overnight, next day dry the bird and fry it in olive oil until golden brown add onions and garlic with some salt pepper allspice thyme and 1-2 laura leafs let the wine evaporate and add boiling water simmer till the meat is tender and falling off the bone, serve it with mashed potatoes :)
Do you mean soak it in red wine during a second night, or during the first 17-20 hours that you mentioned while it is hanging, for example, in a plastic bag?
to get a thicker crumb coating dust the meat in flour before the egg.
Wow so good video
Love the videos keep it up
Fantastic video , really like this .More of the same please.
