There may be nothing I despise more than censorship. When Funimation removed Interspecies from its site I remember thinking this is the beginning of the end. Blood, gore, and extreme violence is perfectly fine, animated boobies not so much.
Its not just ecchi, gore or violence. It doesnt stop there. Its also localiaztion and politics. They do alot of that too. Message subversion and censorship. True evil. The 1940's meanies would be proud.
I would urge RightStuf to cancel the deal, if at all possible. NO one is happy about this, and they lost a LOT of customers yesterday, many of whom won't come back no matter what. A lot of respect was lost overnight.
I hate all this gate keeping. Not happy with this merger and their decision to do this! I always supported companies like Crunchyroll , Funimation etc but I might as well not subscribe and still view all my content for free. Say their for the customer and will provide “the best content” but choose to decide what that is. I think that’s the consumers choice. Happy for the individuals that finally got their payout from a business standpoint. But hypocritical to say that they’re still for the customer while removing products that are in demand. I’ll be limiting my buying from right stuff but glad I got items in the last sale.
People are just TO SENSITIVE!!! I UNDERSTAND WHY but that shouldn’t mean you should control what others want. Tempted to cancel Crunchyroll these days. Thanks for the update.
@@jaredweiman2987 what places are does cause the only other i know of is pirated and im trying to avoid that to the limit but good deed on your end im only on it for the anime i watch that have no reason to be censored unless there somethin i dont know of 😅
Sony must hate the Interspecies Reviewers anime, Sony/Funi license it and then drop it. They then buy Rightstuf who is selling the BD and cut the anime but leave the manga?!
Also here's something interesting: The only episode rated 18 in Germany was the very one that made Funimation drop it. Even in the US it was rated 17+ until that very episode...Hmmmmmmm
Sentai film works has movies that they don’t have streaming license for. So Blu-ray may be available there. AMC has brought so much positive to HIDIVE. Japan has no import fees so we can just buy straight from Japan. And we can see HIDIVE getting bigger and bigger
I just don’t understand… if someone doesn’t like adult content (and this applies to any sort of content), then they don’t have to read it, watch it, or buy it… RightStuf always had an age verification warning come up whenever you clicked on an adult product, so why was that not good enough?? Censorship like this just irks me so much. I am SO glad I purchased the Interspecies Reviewers blu-ray before this happened..
It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand. You don’t have the money that they do. “Get woke go broke” means nothing to people that are willing to incur any financial loss in order to promote an agenda.
I believe Rightstuf also had a thing where you could opt out of seeing adult content. If they changed it to an opt-in option, I really don't see the issue. If there was something up with the payment processor or something, then Sony should've had whoever at Rightstuf handled it before to help communicate with the payment processor.
@@mikemx92 It's not about giving you the option. In order to bring the medium to an even wider audience, they're going to have to cut 18+ content altogether. Not just sexually explicit content, but violent content as well. Anime is circling the drain at this point and America is to blame for it. Even Japan blames us for ruining their hobby. I know it's difficult to hear, but this culture (along with tabletop and any other nerd hobby) tends to be full of passive people who aren't known for speaking up against these things. They took a sledgehammer to anime decades ago. The way anime was in 1997 when I got into it is way different than it is now. And not in a good way.
Mainly concerned about what will happen to Nozomi and those licenses, how exactly EroAnimeStore/BuyAnime will operate, and how logistics will be on Rightstuf's side and if this aquisition will make things easier for them to fulfill demand and work with their partners who are now technically their parent company's competitors.
As of August 5, 2022, I still see the Interspecies Reviewers manga on Rightstuf. I checked other titles that could be considered "erotic" like High School DxD, Highschool of the dead, and those are still there. So I guess it's content marketed as hentai only, not so much for ecchi? Still not a fan of this.
Beginning to be disgusted with sony mofckers should leave adult content alone as well i very disappointed with anime base games that was release on playstation is censored
Thankfully i managed to secure my copy of Interspecies before this happens. But yeah this is absolutely ridiculous, like age verification is there for a reason but companies just want everything to be squeaky clean for the investors and the mainstream audience. Like just give people the option to buy whatever they want instead of being the moral police and dictating what's ok and not ok for people to consume. Nothing good ever comes from companies monopolizing something and i have a feeling that it's going to get worse from here. Give them an inch and they take the whole mile.
I find this interesting as more Japanese companies are looking at overseas operations. Sony may be pushing it this way to stave off the competition from the likes of Bookwalker/Kodokawa and make HiDives catalogue look weak.
Censorship isn't a blow to MY Fandom! I prefer less bare skin and gore. And there's more than enough still on the platform for even the seediest viewer. Seriously, people can go watch porn if they want to.

Well that’s it for me. Since Sony made them scrub all their lewd products, won’t be buying anything else from them. There are other sites available that will get all of my money now like amiami.
I’ve been intentionally avoiding giving Crunchyroll my business for awhile now, and Right Stuf was my main alternative for buying and watching shows. Now I guess I only have Hi Dive to stream with, but who knows how much longer they’re going to last? Also manga was always cheaper to buy on Right Stuf than anywhere else I've seen, even with Amazon Prime free shipping. I didn't buy a lot of manga but there's a few series I own/am purchasing.
In the near future they will because all Sony wants is distribution rights to the products/content that Right Stuf has. Once Sony acquires those rights they're going to migrate Right Stuf is products/content to the Crunchyroll store and shutdown Right Stuf. But not right now sometime in the near future.
I can't imagine them dropping, say, Ghost Ship titles and the the other "I Can't Believe It's Not H" titles that come from the major publishers. All of that can be bought in bookstores already, so that would just be cutting off their nose to spite their face. That said, any delisted items purchased during the sale are now in a kind of limbo while they stand up this new Ero Anime Store, those customers will have to wait maybe two weeks, and then provide their credit card info all over again to finalize those transactions. Not ideal.
I hope they didn't by Right Stuf so they can phase out physical copies totally. I see nothing good coming from this for customers of physical anime media.
A big Reason why they wouldn’t be after phasing out anime is that Sony is a share of the Blu-ray format. So it would be against their own interest. They already make a lot of money for every Blu-ray Disc and Player sold.
I want to start a adult anime store called wrongstuf since even eroanimestore is broken. Hopefully the sell offs of stuff starts happening soon . Because of the 4 trillion of debt Sony is in now at this point

LIke you I am concerned about censorship, I was really looking forward to an uncut version of Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World but that probably will never happen.
Yeah, sadly, even with this buyout, I doubt we would get uncensored Harem in Labyrinth as it’s Crunchyroll’s license to begin with. They are on the production committe so I assume they have both streaming and physical rights.
Hopefully they will release the uncensored version later on physical, but that might never happen because black hole that sony/crunchyroll are creating will destroy them.
RightStuf was one of the places I use to buy anime from occasionally, and while I've never bought erotic stuff from them, I am worried about what else they could do to anime in the future. What if RightStuf forces Nozomi to censor 'Dirty Pair' to appease Crunchyroll's standards.
I have to ask, guys seriously, do you guys want anime to be promoted with stuff like interspecies reviewers ad? No don’t think so. You want it to grow right? Plus from what I can tell, men are the ones complaining. Anime is for all guys. End of quote.
It’s about being against censorship. If you don’t fight it even when it goes against something you don’t care about, there will be a day when it does come after what you like and it will be to late. Censorship also helps drive piracy.
No, I don't. It's rapid growth over the past decade is why it's in such a sorry state. The constant need to appeal to a fickle western audience is what ruined it in the first place. This was not a problem in 1997.
