Gary doesn't realise how much of an inpact hes having on alot of people like me, by creating this podcast and getting Alan and Micah on board. Its such a lovely wee show that takes you away for 30minutes from stuff going on and i could listen to them all day. Peace and love ❤
Micah shouldn't really be on match of the day, given he is an employee of Abu Dhabi FC. The BBC is paying an employee of the biggest cheats in the history of the game. He always defends them, so it's a clash of interests, with them already ruining the competitive nature of the beautiful game, It's just wrong.
@@amrelarcher8990they've famously said that the MOTD format doesn't really allow for too much non-analytical chats in between, especially when, there's already one 'joker' person.. it's unfortunate, but I agree. Surprised how funny Shearer and Keane are.
What makes this so good is viewer's questions giving a real insight into the game and their careers rather than waffling on about the usual boring subjects
How Eddie Howe has stuck with Jamal lascelles has shown how well he has managed the dressing room. Even with the captain not playing all the time, he still appreciates his professionalism and shows respect to his loyalty to the club.
I wish every podcast uploaded as often as you do. It's probably my favorite part about it. Seems like everytime I need something to listen to theres a new episode waiting for me.
It's been 15 years since I last played football and there is nothing like the banter in the dressing room and after the game. Haven't experienced anything like since then but this podcast takes me back. The football analyses and banter is spot on. Micah is hilarious. Shearer dry humour is class and Gary is "like a fine wine" 😂
Best episode yet guys ur banter is next level has me crying with laughter the whole time watching the chemistry between u 3 is flawless, keep up the great work
Great banter again. Seen a few say it’s unique I just think it shows the three of you are actually friends and actually want to work with eachother etc
I love the stories about Sir Bobby Robson. I remember Bryan Robson told one where he was the World Cup with England heading down in the hotel list to the pool. When he reached the bottom floor, the lift door opened and there was Bobby Robson getting into the lift. Bobby says to him 'hi Bobby' and Bryan replied 'no, your Bobby, I'm Bryan'.
As a Sheff Utd.fan we have only spent £35m this season from the Primer money the rest we paid off the clubs debts but the gulf between the new teams just gets bigger every year .
Gary, Alan and Micah are great but you also have to tip your hats off to the people asking these questions. Quality. Best thing on UA-cam by far. Oh and lets not forget Mr. Fiat Lineker as well XD
If Shearer played for Fergie, he would have won at least 6 EPL titles easily and probably a champions league or two. Plus his total EPL goals would surpass the 300 mark for sure.
Love the sarcasm guys as it makes the show that much more enjoyable. Question for Micah. How does it feel to be more famous as a football pundit than you were as a player and is it harder now than it was when you helped Aston Villa go down? 😄
What a mention by Lineker. Pietro Vierchowod (the Tsar) was a tough defender. Maradona mentioned him as his toughest opponent. Van Basten did also mention him.
@garylineker I was at your last game at old trafford when I was a young boy with my Dad who sadly is no longer with us. I was behind the goal(East stand) that you scored a header from, everyone in the ground applauded.
Question - First, i want to say that i love this show and that u guys have amazing chemistry. So a question for each of you, if u did not have your 2 cohosts with you right now on the show, who will u replace them with? Will it be other pundits that you like and have have worked with before, or maybe it can be someone from outside of media and punditry but u believe will make a good/fun cohost? Once again, thank you for the show!
Question : what were the type of players you least enjoyed playing against and give examples. Amazing podcast and listening to you guys really makes me crack up after a hard days work
i dont like micah when he was on pitch..but i love him when he was speaking..he always positive vibe..laughing all day long..and making everyone day..❤❤
People have forgotten what 'ball to hand' is, that's what most of the hand balls are now. If you can't move your arm or hand out of the way then it's ball to hand, like it always was. There's gotta be a line drawn somewhere with the handball rule. Context and common sense also have to play a part in it.
In terms of VAR I think it would work if you had it working like the challenge system on Tennis. So have the manager and/or captain able to challenge a referees decision and the VAR can then look to see if the decision is correct. Give them say 4 challenges a game (2 per half) and then leave it at that. If you run out of challenges, so be it, let the referees do their jobs otherwise.
Exactly this, only thing I'd say is that you get your challenge back if you're proved right. The offsides however would probably need to remain the same.
I think at some point, VAR will be fast and automated, just like goal-line tech. So I think we'll soon see fully auto offsides. I think then I would agree with challenges for red cards/second yellows. I also 100% agree with Alan about the handball rule - deliberate handballs only.
@@whitenbald I honestly think sticking to a set limit would be better, simply because we're already sick of lots of interference from VAR, and this way you limit it to at most 8 uses per game. Totally respect what you're saying though pal, just trying to limit the amount that VAR interferes with play. Totally agree with the handball shout too
I like the idea but I think there would need further tweaks especially around handballs. Handballs are given right now inconsistently so imagine loosing a challenge when it is similar to one against. They just need to simplify the rules and apply them consistently imo.
The dream they had is a pretty common 'impotence' or anxiety dream. If you were boxer you might dream that you keep punching and the punches had no effect. It's like dreaming about your natural gifts been taken away. Most people will encounter this at some point in their lives. Shows how hard people have to work to overcome the negative voices or doubts in our own minds. Even top performing athletes.
Hi lads, loving all the episodes so far. Great comraderie and craic between ye all. A question for Gary....with it being John Barnes' 60th birthday recently, what is your best memory of playing with him and how disappointing was the abuse he used to get from England fans?
Question for next week: Gary was infamously duped by Chris Morris into starring in an episode (with some other well known TV personalities) for a comedy show in the 90s; have either of Micah & Shearer ever been duped for a TV/Radio show and how? Would like to know when Gary realised and how he felt after realising ir?
I think if u allow a pass that goes out of the side lines so long as it doesn't touch the ground should be allowed to play on and not be a throw in , that would certainly make the game quicker
As usual brilliant episode, the trio need to take The Rest is football on the road.at least Leeds Leicester & Newcastle with the 3 being from those area's.
Hello lads, best notification I get when you have uploaded. my question is, if there is a next upcoming charity match, can we see all 3 of you? I think you'll all still have it!💪🏻
I started following English football in the eighties. My first vivid memories are from the Euro 84. Next, th Mexico 86, with England losing 1-0 to Portugal (my country). I still am an Everton fan and still have a soft spot for England national side, courtesy of the number of ZX Spectrum footy games and to Everton road to Rotterdam. Lineker played for a wonderful Everton team with great players and also for the best set of players in an England national side midfield. Hoddle, Waddle and Barnes were unreal and still there were Peter Reid, Trevor Steven, Captain Marvel...upfront, Lineker and Beardsley were ace. No wonder Lineker almost set the record for most international goals for England. But then, there were the early 90's....the service lost a lot of quality.
Mikas answer to the question about weather players ever get together to get a manager sacked, is a huge reason I've really lost a lot of interest In modern football at the top level. The players are over pampered pricks with too much power. I hope some players whove taken part in that try managment themselfs in the future.

I wonder why he doesn’t show this side of him on TV tho. He always seemed so serious on TV, didn’t know he’s an absolute laugh 😂

Shearer and Lineker have always been funny, it’s just that on MOTD, they tend to be more serious by default!
