"Without Tony, heavy metal wouldn't exist. He is the creator of heavy!"
-Eddie Van Halen
Jimi Hendrix or Vivaldi...
@@drivinsouth651
The opinion is still valid .
No one is allowed to differ
@@drivinsouth651 Hahaha good joke
Camera man:oh there’s a great solo going on let’s focus on the bass for a second
I’m a bass player no offense
@@TKMMA_ watch the video again. Tony had stopped for a second, and that was when Geezer and his bass was all you could hear, then he went back to Tony Iommi and his guitar when he started playing again. The camera man did a great job
Is it just me that I think Tony Iommi is not the only person shining in this video; the legendary Terence "Geezer" Butler's bass playing is laying down a very important groove for Tony's solo.
I tottaly agree. The ryhtm section is very important
Balgy Bal Appice's beats back the solo very nicely. gives it a nice groove.
Oh right you are! Both are smoking, in this video!!
Yeah man, Geezer is great and i think is my favorite bass player.
Geezer has always been the best.
What I always liked about tony is that he's not about playing fast like a maniac. He can play it fast, but he creates a vibe for his solo, its not just a whole lot of notes put together. You can tell that he has put alot of time into the solos
He has more soul into his solos
This is the coolest guitarist I ever knew. He doesn't play very fast all the time, rather he play notes in a pretty structured and effective way.
This is actually one of my inspirations in making music alongside Chris Cornell...
Tony’s playing is special. You can always tell it’s him playing and he’s not overly fancy but the dude can shred with the best of em and be melodic as hell too
He's one of a kind. There's nobody like Tony.
Efficiency is the word you are looking for.
his playing is majestic
well said
Iommi is my main inspiration to play guitar.
Me too bro tony is tha god
I've also been listening to Alex Lifeson's work lately, all great stuff
Kerry Wichterich same bro just bought my first guitar!
his guitar sound inspired me to play heavy tone.
mine is Jimmy page and ritchie blackmore
Tony is God and Geezer is Jesus. This is fuckin amazing they are both absolutely killin it. The godfathers of Metal ladies and gentlemen
theres only one bad thing about every Tony Iommi solo: they are too short
you are right though they are still much more magical than many more lengthy solo
I don't think so....
Cyroavernus well, that's because you don't appreciate the work of the father of heavy metal
iommi understands people's attention span. so he is keen to keep his welcoming solos on a short note
Dont forget that tony has injured fingers due to an accident
"This isn't even my final form!"
-Tony Iommi
What does that mean?
@@1847thomash it's not even his final form
@@darren9194 You mean Tony plays something else besides the blues?
@@drivinsouth651 yeah. It's called metal
@@ethanmchael8917 It sounds like the blues.
not a boring moment in this solo totally unique excellent
❤🎉😊. Howdy G R E A T T O N Y 😊! ! BERNIE GERMANY 😊
I concur.
Geezer is doing a hell of a great job there too. he's amazing.
Everyone praising Toni Iommi here, I love this man for sure...however, I also gotta praise the people out here enjoying his solo for their equally amazing taste in music!
When Tony Iommi laughs, it turns holy water into vapor. His tone is absolute ferocious here.
nobody deserves more credit for creating heavy metal then tony iommi
Love how the drums follow the lead
Tony Iommi can play the shit out of an electric guitar. Sabbath rules!
3:20 I absolutely love that part.
so true. i always get goosebumps hearing that :)
We call that the climax.
Its like the end of the world anthem
Yeah
Me too
AMAZING
Absolutely feeling
@@Unreal_Ra orgasmo 🔥
Man, everybody's always bashing about artists that stole form other guitarists etc.
EVERY SINGLE METAL RIFF is already written or jammed by Tony Iommi!!
Matt Pike of Sleep recently said in a interview on loudwire said that and it made me more confident as a guitar player because I was always afraid to rip off riffs
Incredible guitarist!
+Michael Mixon yes he is, tony iommi is the hand of doom.
the handed left....yes...is very good your left hand
2:48
thats got be one of the best transitions i've ever heard
True musicianship!
Tony is one of the most amazing guitarists in the world!
LOVE IT!
Tim Rubin Halcomb when zakk wylde and other amazing guitarists bow down to tony ,you know ur good
brandon hutton
You got that right bro
+brandon hutton Wylde is overratet as fuck.
+Tim Rubin Halcomb
Love him too \,,/ The best guitarist for me , Tony Iommi .
+Tim Rubin Halcomb him and malmsteen are my favorites, i call tony iommi the hand of doom, his guitar will agree with me.
He became a legend with two fingers. Tony Iommi is and will forever be the man.
Dr of Arts ....I graduated with Tony Yesterday 19th NOv 2013- Coventry University - What an honor !!!!!
It smells leather, metal and fire, the definition of this nostalgical intemporal Tony Iommi's solo
The most underrated guitarist ever !!! He's unbelievable!!!!!
Nah, he's not underrated... Believe me. The most underrated guitarist (In my opinion) is definitely Alex Lifeson.
Was für ein grossartiger Gitarrist.
Iommi ist wahrlich schwer zu toppen.
Der Mann ist ein Phänomen....
44 years after the first black sabbath album and he's still bringing the world to its knees
1:12 I can't even say how cool this sounds.
"underrated" is probably the most " overrated" word bandied about youtube, but Geezer Butler is one of the most criminally overlooked if not underrated bass players out there. Along with Geddy Lee and John Entwistle, he wrote the book as far as in your face prominent rock bass playing is concerned.
Confession time: as a young guitarist I didn’t understand the Iommi hype. I was way too focused on speed and super technical playing. Growing up a bit, it’s blatantly apparent this man is the root of the genre. Incredible player
The master of the heavy metal riff. Nobody comes close.
It was such an honor for me having the chance to see this legende live once in my life. It was mind blowing, the best guitarist I have ever seen performing, it was like a bright light coming from his presence, captivating and breath taking!
Iommi is the greatest man that can make Dark Riffs.
And this is with plastic tips on two of his right hand fingers! Mr. Iommi, you truly are a beast.
1 of the absolute best guitar players of all time. Saw Tony in 1972 and still consider Tony 1 of my favorite guitar players.
Iommi is a legend
I just found out a master Bass player I never heard of...
wow
You found gold !
+smootskin Geezer Butler is one of the greatest bassists to ever live, he also wrote the majority of the lyrics for Black Sabbath
Tony is the God of playing Pentatonic scales - the most difficult part when playing the guitar.
You know it, Iommi is the man. Some people just have the gift.
The best guitar player
Tony Iommi is my favorite rock star ever he is so genuine unlike most guitarists who are so fake and all they care about is their ego this is why i really like him i think he is THE greatest guitarist in MY opinion. KEEP ROCKING! \m/
this guy is top 10 all-time guitar god
Iommi and Dio, two gods of metal.
I don’t think he ever got to show off like this with the 13 lineup. Heaven and Hell as a whole just contains some of the best work of each member.
The First Hard N Heavy Guitarist and Guitar Hero of Planet Earth 🤙
The bass part is epic as well 🔥🔥
Thank God for this man. He has influenced so many to create more great music.
I adore this solo!
Tony Iommi is one of the best!
He looks so cool and has his aura even when he is just standing there with a guitar
Love Geezer and Tony still going hard together!
Existem monstros na guitarra... E existe Tony Iommi!!!
He is so badass you can't even imagine.
One of the best.
If there is a category you could lump him into, then it's calling him a blues, rock and metal player, because that's what he does the most. He even described that the hair on his arms used to "raise" when they discovered their sound in the early days of Sabbath, and give him goosebumps(you know that feeling). That indicates that he likes their music, because it has an attracting vibe in it. If you don't believe me - watch the movie Metal: A Headbanger's Journey by Sam Dunn.
Por algo este señor es el padre del Heavy Metal. Larga vida a Tony
Long live Tony Iommi!
I really love his playing style, his solos and riffs. MASTER OF MASTERS!!
There is NOBODY as cool and smooth as Tony😂😂😂 Tony Iommi’s swagger is unmatched even today, the coolest cat who ever lived🤌🏼
The volume swells were always my favorite parts of this solo. Tony is the MAN!
3:21 this solo is so amazing that i feel i did listen this so time ago
Is there anyone who doesn't like Tony? He's the feckin' bloody total package.
I don't know if Tony Iommi invented heavy metal, as a genre, but I know, and I'm very glad, that he's one of the best 60s and 70s rock guitarists, his style and riffs are magnificent, powerful and energetics, Iommi Blackmore and Page are the Hard Rock Guitar Trinity
the Term 'under rated' is over used. This guy is truly under rated. Seventh Star, you're welcome.
My Gods, so Perfect, I LOVE it
本当に彼のサウンドとリフは素晴らしい!
I love his sound and riff!!!
wonderful!!
So glad I got to see these blokes play on "The End" at their last show in Prague on my birthday. Iommi hasn't aged at all from this time and he makes guitar playing look like a cake walk. May you all live long and continue to inspire young musicians and music lovers like us!
Tony Iommi é um dos maiores guitarristas da história do rock e do HEAVY METAL😁🤟🤟🤟🤘🤘🤘👊👊✊✊🤛👏👏
Masterfull! Blues and metal had a baby!!
Tony's Old Boy amazes me everytime. the wrong paint job, rust on the pick-ups. random pick's embedded on the body, buttons missing. screw those Flying V's, BC Rich Warlock's and other fancy extreme metal guitars. that SG embodies more metal then any other guitar.
RageTheDragoon the monkey sg is my favourite but the Old Boy is really mesmerizing
Sgs, Les Pauls, strats... Those were the first generation of heavy metal then came thrash metal, flying v, bc rich, the gibson explorer...
Now days everything is Ibanez, ran guitars, keisel guitars and a bunch of other ones I am not familiar with
LETS NOT FORGET DEAN FROM HELL😛
It's the horns. Makes it look devilish
Something about the old class of the early 70's just gives me goosebumps. Mighty Mighty guitar warrior Tony, king of the Metal
Красавчики, мужики👍👌🤘
Музло натурально тащит! Шикарное видео, аплодирую стоя👏
Tony....Geezer, Vinnie...thets is the Masters of Reallity
GOD EXISTS! Happy Birthday... from Portugal!
The RIFF master! and the pioneer of metal.
heavy metal with feel!
Esse cara tem minha admiração,é uma inspiração,não somente por conta do talento mas também por sua história de vida.
His solos are heavy too!! 🎸🤘
ALL HAIL THE RIFF LORD! 76 years old now and STILL kicking MORE ass than dudes 50 years his junior. MISTER TONY IOMMI!
my favourite guitarist
I actually watch this video every day 😙😍😜 this is one of the few live performances I love of an artist 😙😍 it's so clean, perfect, and beautiful 😍🎸This solo is so pleasurable to my ears! It's so neat, and perfect, and haunting 😍 Tony Iommy is an excellent guitarist 😍 not to mention that he doesn't have part of two of his fingers🙊
I'm so glad I met this guy in 1994 in Anaheim when he was promoting his 'pick-up' at the Gibson booth at NAMM. Living legend!
Definitely hard rock and flying amongst Hendrix , incidents happen for a reason
and not giving up was his greatest accomplishment . Rock on Toni 🤘.
This man is a genius...
ONE COMMENT...........what a man.....Iommi has had adversity and just knocked it out the park......legend...and he really is IRON MAN
Excellence at work here!
Clearly the hands of
a musical genius.
heaven and hell . mob rules and born again are my fav b s lp's
No encuentro palabras...siempre es un placer enorme escucharlo!
Let the gods of rock guide us through our lives. Get well soon Tony. We need you around for a long long time.
Best feeling... he is a true jazzman, dark and brilliant
one of the best solos ever
one of the most influential guitarist ever get well tony
Beautiful Solo!!!!
Tony Iommi the legend 🎸🤘
Wow! This solo gave me chills
A real Jam 🖤
Happy birthday Mr Tony Iommi.
You are so right! Geezer is a MONSTER bass player! One of the best ever.
The best guitar player ever
This is the best horror solo by Iommi cheers 🥂🍻🍺
