    Great BTS video of a rooftop photoshoot. I like the effects of the LED lights in the SUV backdrop. Good poses. Lovely demonstration and description of the equipment used on the shoot.

    The trick with the Mobil LED is to mount the cage onto the lamp then mount the cage onto the Para!!!

    Daria, there is a solution to moving the para 88' at 9:40, get a Kupo wheeled light stand, then you can wheel it around, No lifting, and it has brakes to, so you can keep it still.

    great video, LOVE the Rolls Royce !!, did you have any trouble with glare (especially using hard flash near reflective metal, paint, etc.). a polariser or ND would help in this scenario, to adjust contrast and keep the glare down, only having highlights, not blowout tones.

    Yes its powerful and the cases are weather resistant, but can the lights handle Beach Photo Shoots? The sea spray and sand are rough on equipment.

    Great video. I prefer lights like the Move 1200. It's lighter head is safter and easer to move around. When the light falls over, it's less likely to be damaged vs the Siros head.

    I can fully understand your excitement for the Para, great equipment. Adding a ring flash reveals the full power of the Para. Unfortunately a bit pricey. 💸🙃

    another tip, you can add extension cables to the move heads!, this gives you the room you need to move around, with the pack stationary! (ps: don't worry about voltage loss, if the extension is long enough, Broncolor thought to add a "booster" box in the ext. cable, how thoughtful!!)

      All Broncolor Paras come from the factory in their own custom cases. What you see here is the 88's custom case.

    Nice video, this is not a critique of your excellent work: today, decades later the Move 1200 which was a revolutionary light has not advanced beyond 1200ws, has not changed the number of flashes in any significant way, and is still not TTL. Since the introduction of the Siros L Godox and Profoto have created multiple lights and have advanced a lot, crushing their main limitations (in the case of Profoto bidirectional communication) and remaining competitive with each other. Even if it sounds nonsensical, Godox has the more complete portable system of the 3, with something akin to the Move (but with one outlet), compact light rivaling or exceeding the best from Profoto but with suicidal batteries. Broncolor was unable to create a remote control, and have to ask help from Godox and even with that they could not build TTL (I don't want to go TTL my way out of problems, but it's a good start and sometimes, in events, it's a total blessing).

      An interesting take, but not really accurate... at least not for me.
      I use Godox AD100 Pro, AD300 Pro, various shoe mounted flashes, two Broncolor Siros 800Ls and two Move 1200L packs. Each was chosen after precise consideration, with specific tasks in mind. As you can tell, I deliberately don’t own an AD1200 Pro and if I could do it again, I might not buy the AD300 pro.
      I have no brand prejudice. I use what works best for the specific assignment. I've used Profoto and it is excellent kit, but the compromises always seemed to be greater than with the other brands. The Godox AD1200 Pro is great value for the money, but it's lack of reliability and system/manufacturer support simply lags behind the Broncolor products.
      I've owned my Broncolor gear since 2016 and after hundreds and hundreds of shoots, and some real abuse, I have never had a reliability issue with any of the broncolor kit. Importantly, when my abuse has resulted in broken gear (Para 133 fell to a hardwood floor from 7 feet. Para rods bent, 800 L was scratched, but never stopped working), Broncolor Canada has supported me immediately with replacement gear while my equipment was in for repair. With Godox, I can't even purchase much of the kit I want. I have several items that have been on back order for over 6 months and I don't know if I will ever see them!
      As for TTL, I see it as a speed related tool, that is most often used on moving subjects, when the light is in close proximity to the subject. Not when the utmost precision is needed. Power packs most often are not used in these situations and if they are, the conditions almost always require heavy use of exposure compensation. I find exposure compensation in such situations requires as much fiddling, brain power and time loss as working in manual mode. Meaning the TTL advantage is lost.
      I produce about 150 magazine assignments a year. Ninety percent of those are on location, with active subjects, in complex settings like: rain, cold, wind, compact spaces, etc. Without a doubt, the most versatile, effective lighting equipment, that I can not do without, is the Broncolor Move 1200L pack!
      It has been a Godsend! Cheers

    just hearing the words 'Broncolor' makes one think of shooting a Hasselblad H5 or Phase One XF, a shame you shot a Canon 5D! esp. with such expensive lights.

    great video, nice to see a real world comparison (not done by carl taylor and URS richer), but an independent source.
    TIP : 1, the heads are NOT grouped together, like in siros, or speedlights, for the move1200, you group the BATTERY packs, and channel each head, ie pack 1{group A&B}; Pack 2 {C&D}; each on channel 1 so they all fire together.
    2: the heads Can be small, but four heads are available for this pack, Unilite, pico lite,
    Pulso-G, and mobi-led , the mobiled is the SMALLEST of the bunch and is the "standard" head sold with the Move 1200, pico second, unilite third, and pulso-G last (it has a zoom BULB, not a zoom reflector, like in the profoto lights, it is the Bulb that moves, via a knob on the head); think of it this way, Pulso-G is Giant, mobiled is the cigarette bowl, pico-lite is the 300 ml can of coke, Unilite is the full 600 ml bottle of coke! ; pico is the Precision light of the bunch, has adaptors to make bars and points of light to accent a product, mobi-led/Unilite, on the other hand has a "standard" job, just not as powerful or large a spread as Pulso-G.

    4:01 really, so while shooting, u need to put ur camera away and use your other hand to bring your phone out of your pocket, turn it on, open the broncolor app, just to change the light setting? And u claim thats one of the things u love about that light 😂?

    • @dopemukhin
      @dopemukhin Рік тому +1

      It looks like you've never shouted outdoors. When the light may be high or a few meters away from you. getting your phone out of your pocket will take less time than running and changing settings in a few flashes.

    • @akpevbe
      @akpevbe Рік тому

      @@dopemukhin Actually i do shoot outdoor a lot. My whole point is, in this day and age, its far more CONVINIENT to change one's light setting from the light TRIGGER on the camera than fiddle around with a phone. Other affordable brands have been able to do that for years now 🤷🏿‍♂

    • @EdAb
      @EdAb Рік тому

      @@akpevbe The Broncolor RFS 2.2 shoe mounted trigger allows you to adjust the light from the camera. I often use the app to do fine tuning of the lights and the shoe mounted trigger when speed is critical. Broncolor offers the best of both worlds.
      You can actually see the RFS 2.2 mounted on her camera at 4:01. She was obviously using the app in that scene just to demonstrate how it works, not because it was the only option.
