What you don't know is the extreme heartbreak as Morkies age. They are susceptible to Cushings syndrome. My Jacques lasted 6 years with it, with twice-daily doses of Trilostan. And liver problems. And deafness. And doggie senility. And --- most crushing of all -- malignant melanoma of the mouth where it couldn't be seen. I go tomorrow to collect his ashes. He was 18. I am sooo sad. I love all our pets, and each death hurts, but this one has been most upsetting of all.
My niece had a Yorkie with Cushings. Very expensive treatments. She lasted a long time with all the love and care. It was sad for my niece when she passed.
My son has an almost 18 yr old maltipom that is also suffering with Cushings. It's been 2 years since the diagnosis. The deafness, liver problems, senility, slow loss of vision... it's exactly as you described. It's a heartache. The medication does seem to help and Sam is a happy boy but it's a heartache to watch the decline.
My parents had a Maltepoo named Felix how was my late father's content companion in the last years of is life and my brother and sister in law have one now named Kiffel cute dogs and very playful .
We had a Highland Malti ( Maltese x West Highland terrier ) totally white, with the westie’s double coat. He didn’t give his trust easily, but when he felt comfortable with you, he was the most loving dog. We lost him in January, to an enlarged heart, aged 17yrs, sometimes X breeds last longer the purebreds.
I have a Maltichon. The coat is not that hard to maintain as long as you brush the hair 3 times a week, paying special care to the rear, behind knees, under arm and ears.
Not sure if my adorable little pup is a Maltipoo or possibly a Havanese. She is cream/peach coloured with patches of slightly darker hair on her neck and shoulder, at first I thought she may be Maltese Shih Tzu. Her hair has been shaven and her tail is straight. She was rescued from an LA pound and arrived in Wa. in a van with lots of other dogs, needless to say she was terrified. So far, I have not heard her bark, just a whimper or two when she wants something. I love her to bits, how sad to think of all the other dogs in a crowded shelter who will not be as lucky. Please adopt, don't buy, so many are desparate for responsible, kind and loving homes. A very kind lady at the shelter sponsored my pup and also paid for her transportation along with that of the other dogs on the van, this included spaying, neutering and vaccinations and flea/tick treatments. Check out LAanimalservices and talk to Bonnie who volunteers there and helps with adoptions.
@ well that’s down to owners. I have a 1 year old Maltalier who toilets outside, isn’t a barker and has never tried to destroy furniture. Dogs aren’t badly behaved their owners are!
They‘re all so cute ❤
I have a Morkie. She is little over 8 years old and just a joy. Very friendly and sweet. She likes other dogs and does act like a watch dog.
I have a Maltipoo. Absolute love of my life ❤️😊
I’ve had 2 Maltese and a Toy Poodle. Loved them all so much. I’m thinking of a MaltiPoo or another Maltese.
I have a Maltipoo, he is absolutely adorable 😍🥰
I have a Maltese so lovely and intelligent.
Sure would like to have a Maltipoo

So sorry. The hurt never get easy, we just learn to live with it. ❤

I have mauxie (50%}... And i dreamed another new mauxie (25%maltese and 75%dachshund) 😁😁😁
I was disappointed not to see the Maltalier/Cavamalt (Maltese cross Cavalier) on the list.
A beautiful mix with a lovely personality.
Yes, but they pee all over the place! Even when fixed! They destroy homes!
