Your wrong there are thousands on this channel that teach for free whole lessons maybe you should take a leaf out they're book then you wouldn't have to look like a salesman with a t shirt and hat on good luck in the future

David, this is how I make my living. I don't have a trust fund or parents that pay my rent. I'm thankful for the folks who don't mind paying a small amount to receive the best instruction I can possibly give. Now, why don't you use the same argument everywhere in life? Try this tomorrow: "You're such a good cook. In fact, you're so good you should just let eat your restaurant's food for free. It's annoying if you try and charge me for what you do." I don't think that would work out for you.

I completely agree! The fact that you even put videos out on youtube is amazingly generous, and I think you are a great ambassador of this style of music for spreading knowledge and amazing music to everyone.
Ben, you are over 4 minutes into your video and no instruction. Like most people I'm gone in the first minute because of the rambling and no teaching. I would recommend less talking and more teaching. Please take this as advice and not a complaint.

Good grief, folks. Read the title. BASIC Fingerstyle. He's obviously teaching those who are new or just getting started, and that takes time before you dive into a lot of specific instruction. Otherwise you overwhelm those starting with "basic."
you make good points when you actually teach how, otherwise you lost me by minute 8 and you really hadnt instructed anything.

I find it amazing people can still complain when a guitar lesson is FREE. Pay for lessons and find that on you're 2nd lesson you end up spending more time going over the first. You're spending hard earned money and I bet you're happy. Thank you for teaching me on you're time at NO charge...
Wow, after reading the comments it is evident that there are some ungrateful Aholes out there! Lol. This fella is posting these lessons for free, and people are still complaining! And even if it is an advertisement for membership to his site, it's still a pretty generous offering of his time and skills. Goes to show, no matter what you do, some people just want to be miserable complainers.

Ben is just watched this and do not have my guitar handy .... love playing Amazing Grace but never was able to make it sound good finger picking. ... not great with a guitar but think I can manage this .. doesn't matter how long it takes to get to the lesson for me this is awesome .... Thank you sir for taking the time to do what you do hopefully one day I'll be confident enough to put something out there. ( need of each of those guitars worth showing off first lol ) again thank you for this one it hits home pretty hard.

When I play Alternating Bass I use my PINKY as an Anchor. I helps you Pick FASTER.
i like the intro
there r a lot of good guitar players on utube but very few good teachers....all jabberring about themselves and instead of taking a slow progressive, orderly basic lesson without all this ( u can do it this way or that way or god knows what way) Just do it! step by step and repetition.... not all this showing off and quacking. If I need some entertainment I'll turn on David Letterman......very frustrating!

I find it helpful to listen to all of you pointer you give in you talking.you need to listen to what your saying.read the tabs and watch the video.and in time with a lot of practice you can learn this

this video is good and I picked it up after a few times of watching it over and over again, but instead of charging me just so i can get the tab so learn this full send it me or put it on here. Dude it's so annoying when you try to charge me and other people, just let us become better guitarist and give us the tabs when your actually a good teacher, that's all dude. Is it easier to use finger picks then your fingers
For some folks, yes, but usually not at first. But after you get used to them, fingerpicks are great. They allow you to play louder but the tone is different, of course.

i agree with GREG,having visited hundreds of sites#1 GET ON WITH THE LESSON...,people ...........are looking for concise consistent teaching#2 PLAN YOUR LESSON..present timing, which #strings are picked in which order,and then #3 GIVE ON SCREEN TAB, and a link to allow students to download the Tab sheet. Take a look at the most popular teachers, they actually make a living doing this, and get their own written songs out to the public.
It's free. You can't make a living giving free lessons, tab, on screen note for note. My God. Teachers make money teaching, that's why they continue to teach.
