Ive been watching these videos for a while and I just realized LAcoFD has Con Crews I thought it was only CalFire
So as I researched before. Apparently LACo is cal fire. So there is no actual cal fire In LACo. Although I find it hard to believe but when I research BRU which is supposed to be their cal Fire it only shows up as LACoFD. Who knows. Only someone from out there can help me fully find that out.
LA County acts as the primary fire authority in the county. CalFire does have stations and personnel in LA County but they are almost exclusively forestry assets, like extra camp crews and type 3 engines. Reason for this is simply the number of nessecary resources the county needs. Basically because there are so many incidents in LA it is easier for the county to have their own resources to deploy to keep it all "in house". Believe it or not but LAFD also has a few camp crews but they are very rarely ever called out! An extra benefit of it is when there's a major incident somewhere else in the state often LACoFD and LAFD can send lots of spare members and their equipment to help! I remember those fires in Napa Valley a few years ago and I'll always think it was neat to see apparatus from all over the state helping out.

There new channels sound good cam you here all channels from anywhere In la county
So about the new channels they switched to, they sound very amazing in quality. The only downside for me is still trying to figure out what dispatch is what. U1 Dispatch, D1, D2, D3 for sure I know is SGV, D4 Ect Ect.

Ok question I noticed a lot of fire photographers drive ex police vehicles. Why is this?
So for me with my ex Bakersfield Vic. For my media or fire buff purposes, it’s easier for pd or fire to know media has arrived. Or because it’s easier to store equipment such as Center console for radios, lighting switches or computer mounts. Mine helps me a lot with what I need. Great space for sure.

Ive got a non police F150, I've outfitted with emergency lights and equipment as a volunteer fire POV/ buffing car. I'd like to get a vic just cause they're cool.
@@soonerstatefirephotography they do come with issues tho lol. mine has had quite a few within the past years. I fixed it up tho so she works fine.
