- Welcome back Camping Familes! In today's video we take a quick look at several bunkhouse travel trailers that allow you to access the bed, bunks, bathroom, and refrigerator without ever opening the slide out -- a VERY handy feature for traveling families or for folks who need to get the RV packed up and ready while it's in storage! Below are the link to the full videos of each of these models as well as links to layouts mentioned in the video but not directly shown. Enjoy!!

I like the design of the Transend with the bunkhouse, just wish it wasn't in the slide out only because, knowing my kids they would find a way to knock the slide out off the track. Our youngest son, should be a tester on how long it takes him to find a way, to create havoc in a short amount of time and send Dad and Mom's blood pressure into outer space!
😂
Cougars are the best-looking RVs inside and out....
I really appreciate all the info on the trailers. I've been looking at smaller bunk houses for awhile and you have made searching easier! Thank you.😊
My pleasure
What a great idea, Josh and others! Thank you.
We have the 2023 Jayco 24BH and by far is my favorite Floorplan. Before that we had a Jay Feather Micro and this 24BH takes all the stuff we loved in the Micro and amplified it. Double doors and the huge counter space and huge pantry are my favorite features.
Great job putting this compilation together for us Josh .
Well TY :)
Josh always love your content, would you be up for doing a video about best RV parks in the country for families? Or even one by best campground in each state? Those are fun for getting excited for exploring in our RV’s! You’re the best!!
I would totally love to do that but I lack the experience necessary to wade in on the topic I'm afraid..
We bought our Coleman bunkhouse because it doesn't have any slide outs. Yes, it gets a little crowded when the weather is bad; however, we spend most of the time outside anyway.
How about doing a top 5 list based on the tow vehicle. For example the best five trailers you can tow with a midsize pickup. The best five trailers you control with a Jeep. The best half-ton towable
I've done some things like that previously and love the idea. Here's last year's footage: ua-cam.com/video/GNMaF0r71KU/v-deo.html
For travel I’d definitely prefer an RV that had theater seating with a TV and entertainment center directly across from it, a true queen bed, a porcelain toilet and a MaxxAir fan, a shower door, a decent standard solar package and an attached ladder👍
I mean.. isn't that why you bought your Rockwood? :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd Yes! Yes! Yes! And that’s why I want every other RV buyer to have the same quality standard features that I am so fortunate enough to have👍👍👍except for the standard solar package that wasn’t available when I bought my Rockwood😂
Thanks NERD, Love to see the bunkhouse options.
Great video
Bought our jayco 2023 267bhsw baja from bishs in Idaho at the rv show. Missed you by a few hours. 😢
BAH! Either way - thank you for choosing our door step! :)
Would love to see a overview of all "shorter/lighter" trailers that come as duel axel (around 24 feet and under). Both couple and family trailers.
TY Kelli for the idea!
Would you ever consider doing a video on how to back in a camper? That’s something that gives me great anxiety.
100%. I've kinda done something like that before but I 100% want to get an updated version of it
👍🤘Thank you! Thank you!👍🤘💙💚💙💚
Would love a new video on the best 1/2 ton family bunk houses!
Hey Josh GREAT video so we can see some options and differences. There is one trailer I have been looking at but maybe you could do a video and let us know if it’s a good starter.
Clipper or Viking 182DBU
Thanks brother 🤠
Happy to look if I see one but I don’t think we have many of those in our lineup so I dont want to get your hopes up
@@JoshtheRVNerd awesome I figured I could reach out to you because I know you look at forest river products
Would really really like you to look thru the North Trail 23dbs! No other bunkhouse on the market like it!
I would love to but can never get my hands on one. It’s definitely on my hit list
Hey Josh, id love a list video on the best travel trailers to live out of full time for single people living on their own.
I don't have something like that because the entire topic is so subjective... I've seen people full time in 16ft base level single axles and some people can't live without all the amenities of a big home
Josh we love your videos and watch them all the time! Do you think the 2024 campers will have better quality control and be better built than those over the last few years? We went to a show this past winter and saw lots of garbage construction.
Time will really tell. Not something I can predict right now I fear
Josh, you are making your presence even better with these topic-specific videos. Good on ya!
Well TY :)
Great stuff 👍 thanks for sharing. Just two questions? Does the trandsend 235bh have options for insta-hot hot water heater? and only one sewer drain port rite? Yes I did look at the other video. but maybe I missed something? ✌& 💙 my friend. May trade up from the minnie winni 🇺🇲 GOD bless America 🇺🇲
They do not I'm afraid. Only the standard water heater they use
Hey Josh - Been watching your videos as I'm preparing to buy an RV this year - awesome info, thank you. I've been searching for an RV that can act as my mobile office while traveling on Paramotor adventures. So far it looks like Toy Haulers are the way to go both because they have space for a desk and Paramotor storage. The standard toy hauler setup with toys in the back would work perfectly for this (desk on one side, paramotor equipment on the other). I'm also looking for something small but still having a full shower and towable by a 1/2 ton pickup. So far I'm looking at the Genesis Supreme 1915LE or 225 Prime, Grey Wolf 22RR, Keystone Outback Ultra-Lite 240OURS, and the Grand Design Imagine XLS 24MPR. Would you be able to do a video about the best RVs for Digital Nomads/Remote Office Workers?
I had a Keystone Outback Ultra-Lite 240OURS. Wife didn’t like the bathroom being on the small side. Toliet was tight. Bought when two years old and it started falling apart. Liked the floor plan. Towed nice. If quality was better and more room in bathroom. I wouldn’t mind having another.
@@bobmiscavage4282 Good feedback, thank you!
I like the idea... I'll see if I can get enough together to really make a good video if it
My wildwood 233 rbxl is the best road mode I have ever seen.
That's a good one as well
This list is great if one has kids. Is there a list of trailers for one or two persons with good road mode, with or without slides?
Coming soon
we been wondering if we should buy and tow small trailers like a prolite plus s or a helio 02 so you don’t have to buy a truck to have a place to sleep, eat and shower when travelling.
i don’t see much info on small ones maybe they don’t sell them your area and maybe once we get one we also won’t want one haha
that’s what we’re wondering i guess
ps prolite is 1390 lbs helio is 1550
(half the weight of most of the small ones reviewed on here not sure how they do that )
0:08 that was close! Rv sales lot hobo bout got ya!😅
He thought I was live streaming I think
Josh off subject, do you sell Nerd Herd Gear (i.e. Hats, Shirts) Etc...Great Vid. TY
See here... ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxkEiqHwlhpmqk0zdoEINW30q0vb1KCguE
5:55 its the hat. 😂
:)
lot of people don't realize the cutout is the original. I'm just the 3-D Print
@@JoshtheRVNerd too funny
Do you happen to have a playlist of bunk house trailers with private rooms?
Bunkhouses yes but not with extra criteria
Just for clarification, I meant main rooms with the full queen sleeper. I didn't mean one for the bunkhouse to be its own room.@@JoshtheRVNerd
all aluminum frame? is it as durable as a steel frame?
Clarification:
The chassis will be steel
The "Frame" of the RV will be wood or aluminum
I think they should be able to put a foldable door rather then a cheap curtain.
#NerdHerd 🎉 😊
Love my new Catalina 263bhsck.
TY for sharing! Great model :)
Still waiting on the jayco 2023 33rbts
Jayco changed their lineup recently. I think that model is now this one m.ua-cam.com/video/HpiCR9p0we4/v-deo.html
@@JoshtheRVNerd right lay out. Mine is heavier with bit more cargo cap. And fiberglass.

Josh, you may think this crazy (I’m sure many of your viewers will) but there is a legitimate safety and quality of life issue being completely ignored by the RV industry including you! It’s called EMF and it stands for electromagnetic frequency; and I’m talking primarily about batteries being stored directly under the bed in an RV; as well as cell phones charging inches from people’s heads in your favorite little USB port shelf cubbies on each side of the bed. People don’t realize how serious this is - if they did - they wouldn’t want to be sleeping anywhere close to batteries, inverters, chargers, and other such electric storage devices that are emitting frequencies that are penetrating their brains and other soft tissue and EMF is linked to not only sleep deprivation but much worse - I challenge you to do some research and dare you to raise the issue with the manufacturers. Especially since you’ve had success in that realm already. Yes I know at the end of the day it’s all about supply and demand.
Nope! Nope! Nope! EMF doesn't do what you say it does. It does exist, but its effects on humans are negligible. Guess what else is emitting frequencies: radio stations, your wifi, the ficken SUN, and background radiation from space. If you want to get on a bandwagon about something, pontificate about the virtues of using sunscreen or driving the speed limit with your phone in do not disturb mode, or frankly ANYTHING ELSE, walking downstairs slower. All those subjects would have a greater impact on "quality of life" issues.
EMF perpetuates are amount to flat earthers. They need to be called out, and have their arguments shredded into pieces so as to not perpetuate bad science and falsehoods that infect human thoughts like a virus.
I don't think that is crazy. I always think about the bed over the generator. But the battery thing makes a lot of sense. Thanks for mentioning it.
