- Riding my Strada velomobile from Oxshott to Hampton Court en route to Hillingdon. Interesting to see comparison between velomobile and roadies. I was similar average pace as a pair of roadies between Oxshott and Esher and with another rider between Esher and Hampton Court. I was faster on downhill and did well on the flat and OK on short uphills but was slower on long uphills and when accelerating from slow speed. My Strada weighs about 32Kg and is 100% human powered but is quite streamlined so higher top speed.
I'm impressed. 35 to 40 mph without any sort of eye protection. I have worn glasses all my adult life and still have been hit in the eye by either bugs or flying debris at least three times while riding my Catrike. That's stuff that somehow made it under my lens and actually hit the eye. Can't really count the number of times bugs have splattered on my lenses. Live long and go fast.
I wish these would get more popular in the states. I’d have such a blast in one

Amazing footage, the stats overlay is great!
Thanks
Really like the stats overlay.
Could I interest you in doing a tutorial on the equipment you use and how you post-process it to do this kind of video?
No thanks
Just use a Garmin camera and their free software PLUS a lot of time with a reasonably fast pc!
Nice video. Glasses are a good idea when travelling at 30+ MPH...🤔
Completely agree. I wasn't wearing any in this video as my old ones got scratched but I have since bought new glasses and wear them on most rides. I sometimes take them off on an uphill stretch if I have the foam cover on as they steam up.
great vid with data overlay. You are riding well. To maintain a faster speed uphill I suggest you change down gears sooner to maintain a cadence in the 80s.
Thanks for the tips!
I enjoyed the video. What camera and data logging equipment are you using?
I use Garmin Virb 360 camera and other Garmin sensors for heart rate, cadence, speed, distance etc.
Nice video!
Thanks!
Lots of cyclist, nice.
Thanks
