The taps on riff 2 are 12 --- 19-17-19-20-19-20-22-20-19-20-19-16 on the 6th string. Pulling off back to the 12 of course. You can watch them play it. Riff 3 is also full bar chords F and E up by the nut.
Good thing I always keep my guitar tuned down a whole step at all times. Thanks for the video man! Edit: I am starting to build a callus on my index finger from the chorus tapping. Learned the chourus and verses as of now.
Thank you for this video. This is the first metal song I want to learn all the way though and you made it super easy with the tab under the explanation and the breakdowns of the hard parts and the easy ones just a slowdown. Great video brother
I'm pretty sure the tapping on the second riff should be on the 6th string and the chord is also played as a bar chord on the 6th string from 1 fret sliding back towards the nut for the F chord. I might be wrong, but fairly sure that's how Joe and Christian play.
riff 3 is wrong. It's F on 1st fret and open E chord strummed from 6th string to 1st. And tapping riff is played on 6th string with whammy, and first note, when you tried to do sort of a vibrato on it, do vibrato with left hand not tapping finger. Cheers mate
Douse delay stay on or only during tapping? Sounds good with tapping but the riff doesn't sound quite right.. feel like I missing an effect or something.. great lesson 🤘
All the gain, fair amount of distortion, and most importantly high volume will allow you to nail it. It's not too difficult, but getting the tone right for it can be hard.
@@williamhopkins1262 the problem was the amp, it didn't have enough distortion, after 1 year I have better equipment and I can do pick tapping, :) thank you
It doesn’t really matter but I always go down when playing on low E-D strings (towards middle or fretboard) and up on the high strings so I’m always bending strings towards the middle of the fretboard if that makes sense. If you’ve ever tried to bend down on a high E string you’ll go off the fretboard but since this is just tapping and you’re not on the E strings you shouldn’t have an issue either way.
Thanks a lot! Now I play my first song of Gojira and as the matter of fact my first solo, - ok, it's tapping, but I've got to start somewhere. Really good video. Keep on rockin'! \m/ ('_') \m/
Turn distortion halfway up, and turn the gain a little more than halfway up. I also add a pinch of reverb, but not a whole lot. I have a 300$ amp, so getting this tone was easy for me. Hope this helps!

How’s it going on that? I only got like 5 practice days but I’m trying to find songs that sound sick but I can pull off

you absolutely should add subtitles my friend

WE ARE USING THE SAME PICK. ITS MY FAV
What pick is it? I'm a complete noob and not happy with the random picks I've picked up so far.
I cant pick tapping thanks for lesson

Why am I seeing other videos where the chorus is played on the low e string? I like this way better
because this guy is playing it correctly
How can i combine my guitar and original music?
Does it matter how you tap because people say pull off the string upwards but others say pull off downwards.
It doesn’t matter. Whatever feels more comfortable for you.

Too good tutorial
Glad you think so!

Wrong. Pay more attention before giving lessons.
