Exactly a year ago Indian Ocean came to our University and the entire Theatre was jam packed. 10,000 odd students jumped and sang and enjoyed them to the fullest.
i am indian, i am ashamed that when i went to see indian ocean, i just sat there, like these folks, and didnt go wild like people in other countries to rock bands.indian crowds lack that enthusiasm. but let me tell you, each and everyone loved this music, and enjoyed there time there.
“Qandisha alaha, qandisha hylsana, qandisha la mayosa, israham alain” in East Syriac which means “Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us. “ “Shuw’ha L’Awa U’lawra wal’Ruha D’Qudsha Min Alam wadamma L’alam, Amen Wamen” which means “Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,Both now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.”
Original even used in Syriac Holy Qurbana in Syro Malabar Catholic Churches of India... You can watch original chant , it's more than 1900 year old prayer in Syriac a dialect of Aramaic( language Jesus Spoke) ua-cam.com/video/bJ0ri1IULOM/v-deo.html
Of course this is a really nice performance as it has has to be cause it is our Indian Ocean anyway. But there's a void in Asheem and Susmit's place - I think this is based on Raga Pahadi and the first vocal part seemed out of tune in my ears also I thoroughly missed Susmit's fluid-like medleys.
Thank you indian ocean for showing the diversity of India. For giving voice to our community. A syrian Christian from kerala.

This is an Eastern Syriac song sung by Syro Malabar Christians everyday in the Holy Mass. It translates to the Trisagion of the Holy Trinity.
And the language is Armaic. The language Jesus spoke.
