Always liked the lyrics. Mike never held back what he thought. In fact the whole of the Declaration album is superb, not a bad song on it. It will be recognised as a classic one day.
How can you put out 68 guns, Where were you hiding and the Deceiver as 3 singles and not be huge?.. Fuckin baffles me to this day!......to add insult we had the brilliant Rain in the Summertime / Rescue me in 87 which were largely ignored...not to mention the outstanding Spirit of 76, Absolute reality and Sold me down the river..
Man, I love these guys. I was lucky enough to see them in ‘85 in a small venue. It changed me as a young man who was impressionable. Mikes lyrics spoke to me. I always wanted to be marching on in a blaze of glory chanting 68 guns behind them. Fighting for whatever cause they were standing up for..!! 😆
These fellas woukdve been the biggest band of the 80s if the music press had given them a fair crack. Instead they took EVERY opportunity to put them down and mock them. Still, it made their fans(myself included)even MORE loyal and dedicated.
i thanks !i am japanese ,i was listend this i was high school student, thank you,my sweet memory too long, too far! to reach my dreamland,my english ok?sorry
My favourite Alarm track, I was so privileged to see them perform this whilst supporting Queen in Wembley back in 1986, superb and brilliant to the bone, deserves the Classic status.
@@pj5517 Hi PJ, I was inclined to agree with you considering the commercial era of Queen at this time, but Status Quo and the Alarm really rocked the Stadium that day. I didn't like INXS either, just completely ignored their show. Apparently the line up was to include Thin Lizzy, but Phil Lynott had just passed away before the announcement, so it ended up this way instead.
@@leedsboy64 I was about 8 rows back from the stage, had to stand for hours, it rained at some stage and I had an umbrella. I didn't like INXS and just ignored their set. Mike told us that he went to Wembley to see the Who perform in his early years and this inspired him to be a musician. Because I wasn't expecting to see the Alarm it was an extra thrill, both these and the Quo were worth the ticket, I was disappointed with Queen but glad to be there to witness a classic concert.
@@raypitcher9767 Again the same here i never rated inxs at all but i did enjoy Queens set it was the 6TH time i had seen them live having said that seeing Queen indoors was better
Not a chance. Then, why do Christian Bands cover their songs. Like Geoff Moore in the distance, Rescue me. I saw them on tour with The Call, twice. They are the real deal.
One of the best songs ever written. Still remember the first time I heard it, late 1984

To me a massive surprise also, one of the best groups 😮
Best song on the album, for me. Happy memories, seeing this first on MusicBox television!
Probably my favourite Alarm song of all time :)

I've lost count on how many times I've seen The Alarm, such a great band and brilliant albums. Mike gives 100% when ever I've seen him.
A Real gem from a utterly brilliant Album

Tell Me is underrated. What a great chorus! Blaze of Glory's outro is fire!
One of those all time faves. Never lost its appeal. Xx
This and Tell me are almost lost classics at the end of this fantastic record.

Meant musician
Strange
Drain the U.K swamp.
saw the live so many times....once supporting Queen but left before Queen came on ....utter shite
Sad but true. This song is an anthem against God.
