I remember when you built the seed cleaner that in itself is quite an accomplishment. And then to see that row of refurbished bins you have a lot to be proud of. Congratulations. Excellent work.
That would be better than money in the bank; commodity price goes up, so does net worth. Did I see that they had a spreadsheet with all bins to show capacity and contents?
Surface rust: Super-easy correction process. Apply rust converter chemical (it will dry and turn the rust black)...let it dry (4-hours max). Then apply galvanizing spray (12 oz cans from Lowe's), you're done. Repair stops the rust and lasts for many years.
More of a spectacular job doing this with 3 guys and a tractor ,than space x and a rocket ,definitely more skill and much more use ,well done Team Welker resourceful as ever.
Your videos are absolutely awesome! God bless you all, and Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year to you all! Me and my full belly thank you for farming!
It's been dry here in Southern NJ, no soaking rain in two, three months. Decent harvest but high fire threat for both the woodlands and the farm fields. Supposed to get rain tomorrow.
Brings back memories of moving bins in NW KS. A pretty formidable sight coming down the highway at you I’m sure. Fortunately, we only had to jack them up and slide the beams underneath them, bolt down to tags and head down (up) the highway.
Nice looking row of bins. Hopefully you can that concrete pad poured before winter and mount that last one so it doesn’t take to flight. I hope you need ALL of those bins for years to come.
I am amazed at the number of times grain gets moved by augers - seed bin to air drill and into the ground. Harvested by the combine and then to a grain cart or truck, from the grain cart or truck to destination elevator or manufacturing facility for storage there or to on farm bin storage for later sale to the destination elevator or manufacturing facility, Destination elevator or manufacturing facility will auger it around their facilities to meet their needs. The elevators will then ship the grain out in trainload lots to manufacturing facilities or export elevators at ports to be loaded into ships and be distributed throughout the world - and on and on.
great video, remember the one Leg Arms was riding that 3' auger while getting all the bin footings set, then a fantastic series of building the pea cleaner, that was epic. Next pouring the slabs for the new bins now setting them in place. This video shows years of work all coming together. You don't usually run the pea cleaner alone glad you managed to film and not miss something. Golly you even cracked a joke about John Travolta. Fantastic, take care all, stay safe.
Truly inspirational. It is people like you all that makes America great. Using recycled equipment and fabricating what you need. It must be stressful working day and out with family. But you all make it work. Love the videos.
Seeing Mr Welker with a handful of stones immediately reminded me of an old book we had at home when I was a kid, "Stone Soup." It was always fun when mom read it to me and my two younger sisters. You might not have heard of the book if you're younger. Give it a look.
I've used shell Rotella and a gallon of Lucas till 20000 miles, 5 trucks no issues. The truck I drive with a cat has almost 2 million miles. I say use what works for you
Great videos, hombres. I look forward to seeing your latest endeavors. I grew up in South Texas in the 1950s and 1960s and drove Allis-Chalmers, John Deere, and Massey-Harris farm tractors. The last tractor I drove in 1968 before joining the Marine Corps was a new lime-green Barn Series Steiger. I did comment on Elon's StarShip size and the movement of your storage bins, but it was an apples-and-oranges comparison. I appreciate your entertainment, awesome. Sempre-Fi.
Good job getting all the engines motors and augers going to get the grai cleaned and into the right bis for storage. Also take advantage of time and weather getting grain cleaned and stored for next year. Hope you get more moisture ahead of 2025 season.😊
It is good to see you up and giving your sons a serious run for the money, Bob!!! We are real close in age and I only wish I had your get-up-and-go. You sprinted up that bin stairs without so much as a wheeze or heavy breathing. You and Coby the Wonder Hound should have your own fitness hannel!!
Speaking for myself, I would have loved to see some of the finessing putting the bins together. I have some similar projects to do someday. Even if I didn't it would have been interesting to see. I think you were so late details like what brand name grain bins they were?. Did you have to use the same brand name grain bin rings on the bottom? What did those end up costing? To me these project videos are even better than most field videos. Thank for sharing.
The grains are unloaded by simply tipping the truck and are stacked higher up with a loader, and emptied with the same loader and therefore there is no need to pay for electricity or anything else.
If you were looking to save money, yet poured the wrong sized pad for the 2nd 24' bin. Is it possible to use the side rings of the 4th bin, adding them on the 1st 24' bin to make that double the height and simply not use the roof? Or is that not a possibility due to structural strength and possible collapse? I remember you adding steel shanks or stays in bins previously to help strengthen the sides. That way you just have to find a used bin for the smaller pad!
I’m curious what your guys IQ is because each one of you guys are brilliant and seem to be able to do anything with ease. You were impressed with Elon and his ability but something tells me that he would be impressed with you guys too. Thank you for sharing your work with us
So is there any market for the cleaned peas compared to the uncleaned ones other than for your planting. Guessing it wouldn’t be worth running anymore through than you need. Does a great job 👏
What's the orange square-ish pump looking thing on the workbench in the shop? Saw it when Nick was showcasing the Case tools. Good work boys, God bless and have a great Thanksgiving!
@RobertWelker do the bins you put the seed grain in have fans like big ones? What made me think of it was Fast Ag’s canola got so hot it almost it smoldered last year. Something stopped working, maybe a fan, can’t remember. I don’t see fans on them. So I wonder. Thank you!
i noticed the new bins all have vertical bracing but none of the old ones do. do you have a log book to record what each bin has in it, or do you rely on dad’s good memory. you sure were hopping today Bob, no stairmaster needed
Who else remembers when they were storing grain in the building and in a pile on the ground. They have come a long way
Me 😂
@@jacmccauley7581 that was our last good year! We're due for a year like that.
That's how we still do it at our farm in with eastern Wisconsin.
@@WelkerFarms What year was that?
@WelkerFarms 2025 is gonna be a good year but I think 2026 is going to be a bin buster. If the good lord is willing.
Always like hearing dad Welker talking about the farm and family. All of you do a great job. Thank you for sharing
Love all the storage!
Profit, Profit, profit!
Save big money for yourselves!
You need a pit and a tall leg next.
God bless Welker farms ❤!

Nice to see Bob has a pickup again! And I love the Re-Pete!
Hope you fill everything next year. Praying for you.
I sure would like to see the year you guys fill all your bins ! You sure are due for a great year !
That would be better than money in the bank; commodity price goes up, so does net worth. Did I see that they had a spreadsheet with all bins to show capacity and contents?
It is great when Bob gets camera time. Of course Nick and Scott are "naturals" in front of a camera. Thank you for sharing and explaining.
Pump Fiction. Haha
Glad to see you all are doing well. I hope this year you fill every bin and need to use the shed again for some. Stay safe and healthy.
American ingenuity and innovation. God bless you guys!
You guys are really fun to watch! Thanks for sharing your life with us!
I love the Pulp Fiction reference and we need more story time with Bob ;)
Mr Bob, you got a new pickup? I'm glad for you! Thanks for taking us along, Mr Bob. I always love hearing your thoughts!

I really enjoy Bob explaining how everything works on the farm. That pea cleaning equipment you built was amazing!

This family seems to always be busy. Some hard working people out there on these farms in Montana.
In difficult times, one needs to endeavor to persevere.
Thank you Daddy Bob,Nick & Scott and GOD BLESS.......

I like Welker Farms better than Space X. Great to see all the bins getting finished. Looking forward to seeing them all full! Take care and God bless!

Looking good!! We did the same thing this year, moved a bunch of field bins to home and extended them except we put them all on hoppers.
Seeing Mr Welker with a handful of stones immediately reminded me of an old book we had at home when I was a kid, "Stone Soup." It was always fun when mom read it to me and my two younger sisters.

I was a bolted oilfield tank repairman, your grain tanks are similar
You are flying congratulations with your what's your project..
So great to see a welker farm video I enjoy your videos so very much thank you for them
Good job and I will pray for a bumper crop next year hopefully fill all of them plus

trying to reconnect those bin pieces would cause me to talk dirty, ha ha good work lads
You guys should Patton that grain cleaner. And boys, your dad is awesome the way he climbs those bin steps and just keeps going. Awesome
We wish yall the best of luck next season!!
Thank you! I forgot about the cleaner you built! (until now)

Don't forget the angle iron bin stiffneners

With the rain this fall you guys will need those new bins come next year.
In Europe we have large warehouses of more than a thousand square meters with concrete walls at a height of four meters or more.

Bin there, Done that. Great team work !
Great video. Thanks.
Bob you do a lot better on those stairs than I would.
I think the bins are just as epic as as the chop sticks ....
As usual... Bob is doing all the work..... come on Nick and Scott... lol

Awesome stuff guys!
I'm thinking the added bins increased the sale value of the farm by about $50k over the purchase cost.
@@donbrutcher4501 let's sell!! 😁
And I'm not just talking about farmers, but also about large corporations that store thousands of tons in warehouses with concrete walls and floors.
You Guy`s are Awesome
May yall stay wet during winter. Maybe some good snows
I hope all your new to you bins get filled next year.
While it doesn't get much use, that crane attachment is an integral part of your farming program. 👍
Praying for a drought free 2025!!!
Dad’s a working machine! Old school hustle.
Thank you for the great video.
A used Caterpillar or Volvo loader of, for example, 20 tons can fill a truck in five minutes.
Boys! Don’t cut yourself short!!! It’s epic!
Thanks for sharing
Did you get the spring wheat custom cleaned because your cleaner works better with larger size grain varieties ?
I wanna be a pea cleaning operation operator, I just love things that move
Papa Welker you make me 😂
Wire brush the rust spots then apply rust sealer and paint, probably never rust again now that it's above ground level!

So, these five bens moved and installed cost was $45,000.00. Each Ben value in place is $9,000.00.
Y'all are epic
Greetings from Choteau
Your dad is amazing. Your brother in Christ.
Why not add a couple more rings while you're rebuilding buns? Cheap way to add bushels.
i noticed the new bins all have vertical bracing but none of the old ones do. do you have a log book to record what each bin has in it, or do you rely on dad’s good memory. you sure were hopping today Bob, no stairmaster needed
Designers decided it was cheaper to build larger bins with thinner sheets and add the stiffeners rather than use very thick sheets toward the bottom.
@@lynwessel2471 thank you

I honestly don't see why metal bins are still used in the United States when we stopped using them in Europe more than sixty years ago.😮
Would it be worth it or practical to lease out some of your surplus bin storage capacity to your neighbours if they required it? 🇨🇦 Abbotsford BC
