It is a small heaven on earth situated at the Saronic Gulf, smothered in plants and trees, with pine trees "touching" its crystal blue waters. The island's four communities (Megalochori - Skala - Limenaria - Metochi) are ideal for wonderful summer holidays and for relaxing, calm weekends.
The general image with this island presents is completely different to the one presented by other islands which are overwhelmed with mass tourism. Perhaps is one of the last few romantic destinations in Greece.
Agistri has many beautiful hotels and studios or rooms to let, ideal for family holidays. Gradually it also attracted many artists who draw inspiration from this island. Ferry boats from Piraeus dock at Skala and flying dolphins at Megalochori, whereas both ports are linked to Aegina all year round. At Skala there are numerous hotels and tavernas. Megalochori, also known as "Mylos", is situated to the west of Skala
Entertainment includes many activities, various bars and clubs, where you can enjoy yourselves until the morning.
Agistri is a small green island of the Saronic Gulf with amazing water. Walk around the island and discover the hidden coves and small pebbled Agistri beaches. Megalochori and Skala are the most popular and organized beaches in Agistri, while Aponissos and Dragonera are famous for their natural beauty. You will find below a list with the best beaches in Agistri island.
Chalikiada beach: Further on a narrow path, through a dream-like walk in the pine woods, we reach 500m. after a natural emerald bay, with big pebbles and crystal clear waters; the enchanting Chalkiada.
Access needs caution since it is only accessible on foot. The waters initially are shallow but 5m. further down they become deep.
Aponissos: the pine trees embrace the beach
The unique combination of colors reminds you of exotic places, offering you a unique relaxation and calmness. The tavern located there may offer you exquisite sea food snacks with ouzo, right next to the breaking waves.
THE BEACH OF DRAGONERA
The coastal road after Megalochori turns south and passes parallel to the beach, at a distance from it.It crosses a dense forest and come across beautiful moorings with emerald waters. The journey is captivating and combines in utter harmony the pine tree green with the deep blue of the sea. Roughly in the middle of this journey, through a detour, the road takes us to the picturesque, sandy beach of Dragonera. The beach consists of Small and Big Dragonera.
Big Dragonera has a canteen where you can get coffee, refreshments, ice creams etc.
THE BEACH OF SKLIRI
To the left of Skala, following the coastal road to the northeast, we reach the rocky beach of Skliri. Skliri is a newly-built tourist area with modern hotels and restaurants, built amphitheatrically, within pine woods, with a wonderfull view to the Saronic Gulf, Aegina and crystal clear, emerald waters.
At Skliri location and at a very beautiful place there is Hook Club
THE BEACH OF MAREZA
The picturesque small port of Mareza is 200m. from Limenaria and is a sample of the beauty and magic that this location has to offer.
Mareza is a rocky beach, smothered in green, with deep, crysta-clear waters.
At Skala, with its imposing, white-washed Church of Agioi Anargiroi, there is a large sandy beach, with golden sand and crystal clea, shallow waters. Most people gather at its beach with various amenities and facilities, just 100m. off the port and especially families since the sea is shallow ideal for children
At the restaurants and fish-taverns you may taste and enjoy a great variety of appetizers and snacks, oven-cooked food, grilled meat, fresh fish and sea-food from the island's fishermen, accompanied with chilled wine. For your entertainment there are cafes-snack bars and clubs operating at all times
Megalochori has two beaches with light blue crystal waters in natural coves
For those who love hiking, there are amazing routes that the visitors can explore and get to know in the amazing and ever green natural environment of the island.

Agistri is more than beaches. I strongly recommend hiking to its highest point. It gave me one of the most beautiful immersions I've had in nature while in Greece.

We visited Agistri 31 years ago (2 adults and 2 children) - we stayed at the Taverna overlooking Skala beach, where the ferry dropped day trippers - there were a couple of restaurants and an empty beach (no chairs or umbrellas) - that was paradise.

There is NO FREE CAMPING on the island! People have been paying 350 euro fines all summer! Don't ruin your vacation by planning a camping trip here. The island itself is AMAZING, but camping is illegal, crowded, dirty, no running water, and paying the fine and being kicked off the island is NO FUN!

Angistri used to be what the person in the video would like you to believe. I went there with my family for 4 years in succession in the late 80s and early 90s. It was difficult to get there but It was tranquil and unspoilt, now greed has taken over and the islanders are very greedy. It is crowded and expensive now and quite frankly not worth the hassle of the trip.
Yeah right, the greedy islanders have paid me millions of euro to create this fake video, in order to cheat you and the rest of the world!!!!
This could be a brilliant Hollywood Scenario and most probably the movie would get the Oscar prize 🏆!!! 😂😂😂

Агистри - это бюджетный отдых. Даже в высокий сезон через букинг можно снять недорогое жилье на этом острове, блюда в местных тавернах за 6-9 евро, причем двойные порции, от пуза наедались. Знакомство с Грецией нужно начинать с этого острова. Площадь всего 11 км, машина не нужна, от Афин всего 50 минут ходу на пароме. Первый пляж на видео Aponisos полюбился мне больше всего. Плаваешь как в аквариуме, красивые рыбки вокруг, павлины, природа... Всё первозданное, как будто ты первый, кто окунулся в эту воду. Вспоминаю с ностальгией этот остров и прекрасный отдых на нем. После этого отдыха жизнь заиграла другими красками и мечта одна- постоянно посещать острова Греции.

Όντως το Αγκιστρι ειναι ενας πολυ κοντινός παράδεισος. Εχεις δικιο, αλλα με το διαδίκτυο και τις υπηρεσιες της Γκουγκλ ουδεν κρυπτόν υπό τον ήλιο με τον εναν ή τον αλλον τρόπο...
