  • Up and down the NSW coast, our towns and environment are at threat. From Brunswick Heads to Bega, hordes of historic development approvals left dormant for many decades are rising from the dead, despite in many cases directly contradicting modern planning and environmental requirements.
As these ‘zombie developments’ were approved as early as the 1980s, the result is that your town may be slated with a development that could worsen bushfire, flood and other natural disaster risks. Combined, these developments threaten to reduce biodiversity, destroy threatened species habitat, and steal from us the natural places we love and cherish.
However, we have good reason to remain hopeful. Where towns and nature have been threatened by these outdated developments, thousands of community members have responded in kind, and risen to the challenge. Coastal communities have successfully mobilized grassroots campaigns to protect their towns and local environment from these developments, working tirelessly to protect the species and spaces we love. We know that when communities work together, we can stop reckless developers in their tracks. To do this, we need your help - watch this webinar to find out how your coastal village could be at risk, and what you can do to protect it.
