Excellent video as usual. I love the gentle curves of this highway, and it looks like they had fun with the designs on the overpasses. What was the purpose of the structure at 3:06? It looked like a snowshead to protect the highway from avalanches, but that obviously isn't it.

Now I am curious as well. My guess is that it might have something to do with the quarry by the road. Maybe the purpose is to ward off debris or something like that?

Esa estructura es para la mina que hay a la derecha, ya que cuando detonan la piedra lo ponen por precaución

It's almost as if Spain and Germany are the best countries for driving in Europe. :-)

What an awesome road. I bet you didn't hate driving down that highway. Spain looks kind of similar to California.

The Spanish motorway network is the third largest in the world by length.

@@DIXIELANDSPAIN I think the Chinese officially surpassed us some point within the last decade… thank America’s hardcore environmentalists AND the abysmal way we planned/built our 1950s-1960s initial era interstates for why a lot of people oppose ANY new freeway construction of most kinds…

nice seems to look like I-76 & I-476 tolled Motorway sections in Pennsylvania with the change of 120 kmh (75 mph) Cars and Pickup trucks with 80-100 km/h (50-62 mph uk but 50-60 mph usa) bus and lorries speed limit but Pennsylvania Turnpike is 110 km/h (70 mph) cars and light trucks 105 km/h (65 mph) trucks and buses tunnels 90km/h (55 mph USA & Canada 56 mph UK conversion)

EpicThe112 I agree this does look like the Pennsylvania Turnpike, especially between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. It should be noted that Pennsylvania only recently raised the speed limit to 70 mph (110 km/h) on the turnpike.

Thanks for that information and for your convenience I've listed the dates when Pennsylvania Turnpike posted 70 mph and began in Spring 2014 exits 201-298 later Spring & Summer 2016 I-76 OH border to Exit 326 except for Tunnels I-276 exits 326-351 I-476 Exits 20-131 except for Lehigh Tunnel 55 mph. Spain did actually match the recent 2014-2016 PA turnpike 70 mph zones from 6 March 2011-30 June 2011 110 km/h (70 mph) max taken from elpais.com/elpais/2011/03/06/inenglish/1299392442_850210.html

Spain looks very dry compared to neighbouring France.

That's true, the Pyrenees block most rain coming from the Atlantic. Once you're west of the Pyrenees in Spain (i.e. Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias) it becomes as green as Ireland. However if you move inland from those locations, the transition to arid landscapes is very abrupt.
