Garbage. You won't catch anything in that. You need a real snare. Amazing how people will carry brass wire but will absolutely refuse to carry a real aircraft cable snare
You do realize that they do that to prevent from catching large game that they didn’t intend to catch don’t you? In some places that’s legally required. So it will break when something big gets caught in it.
@@TJackSurvival Yea you just made that up. They use "deer stops" to prevent catching large game, not weak picture wire. Also location and size of loop prevents catching large game. The snare in this video won't catch large game or small game. That's why I said its garbage... not because it's too weak lol... but because it doesn't close 9 times out of 10. It's a good way to starve though. People deserve the truth when it comes to survival. This snare is garbage. Get yourselves acouple 110's and throw away the picture wire. Idk what it is with survivalists and picture wire/550 cord but when it comes to trapping, they have it all wrong
I've never had to snare anything before , never even tried but if the time comes that I need to I'll know how now because you showed me thank you for sharing this and teaching me 😀😁👍 information
"Hair of the hare" you said. I'm thinking with that bend in the wire you made a HAIR TRIGGER that will really TRIGGER that HARE once it finds out. 🤣🥁LOL
Nice that Canada gets a bit of recognition... even if as bunny slayers. Nah, I'm Canadian, and I'[l eat a rabbit, too. Or two. Posted on 02 22 2022 Twosday. I jest, but thank you, in all seriousness, for the video. You are presenting vital survival skills.
Life hack here. Guitar strings have a convenient Bead on the end of them. If you looped the string through the center of that bead, you can save yourself a lot of time. Just now guitar strings are harder to bend and shape than plain wire.
First time trying to make a snare. I wish there were more close up shots. Had to look at another video and come back to get a better idea on what I was doing. I think I got it though.
Thank you. I don’t like snares much but if I need to feed my family I’ll use any method I need to. Very simple, you just have to know where the bunnies are.
You don't bend a tree over and set wire between tree and catch stake? Everything hears the rabbit in the trap too, that's a predator call. I have never been able to catch rabbit except with tree, speaker wire, and stake or wooden live trap.
I find this to be redundant. You do not have to twist two small wires together, simply used 22 gauge wire brass or steel. And that little dent in the wire and hoping the wire wants to recover is not dependable. The loop that you pass the free end of the wire through should be fashioned into a small figure eight. Then put the free end of the wire thru the bottom hole first and then the top hole. It will hold it anywhere you put it without a dent or any misformation of your wire. It will make a circle 2 in diameter or 8 in or 6 in or 5-in or anyting you want then rigged up your trip wire or any kind of snare that you want and use this way to make your loop. It will pull freely back through the little figure 8.

@@frustratedmajority851 I can only send what I’m taught. I’ll research deeper to see if I’ve been misinformed.
WHAT gage or diameter wire is best? everyone shows HOW to snare but no one gives the gage of wire.

Remember to go practice for real it’s a lot different then on UA-cam👍
@@Done293 agreed! You have got to do this in the field or it won’t work as you’ve planned.

Thanks boss. It was a game changer when I learned it as well.
Great info and design like you said well thought-out kudos to your instructor.
Very smart man. I’m lucky to have had some excellent teachers.
Simple and effective! Great info 👍
It’s smart huh.

Basically yep
Snares are difficult sometimes thx for info
They can be yes.
What guage wire are you using?

Everyone needs to learn this . You'd be surprised to know how many people don't know to trap and would starve sitting on a piece of wire.
You’re probably right
Was it paddy that taught you that?

@@TJackSurvival Interesting to know! I’d have liked to take such training, 60 years ago, but, no such thing for public, much less females, then.
Now the purpose of the trap is to eat what you catch ?
I’d hope so yes
did he say 22 ga wire?
Yes
I have a snare but it’s not intended for rabbits.
What are you trying to catch with it?
What gauge brass are you using?
It’s 20 or 22. I can’t remember but I’ll post here if I remember to look tomorrow.
Guitar strings are the best , why bother using anything else
