Matchmaking on Goncharovka (1958)

Retired soldier Joseph Skorik appears on Goncharovka. He boasts that he has been to weddings many times and understands this beautiful ceremony. He meets a young guy, Alexei: it turns out that Joseph is Alexei’s uncle. Meanwhile, Stetsko is wooing the beautiful Ulyana. The girl does not want to marry him because she loves Alexei, but he is a serf. And Stetsko, although rich and free, is stupid. In fact, Stetsko doesn’t care about Ulyana: he doesn’t care about anything except food. But the father ordered the first beauty of the town to marry him - so Stets is trying to please Ulyana. Stets's courtship is very funny, like all his scenes.
