This has been a life saver! I'm not much of a sewer, but now that I'm retired I'd like to try some projects. I've had this machine for years and I honestly thought I was going to have to purchase a new machine. Thanks Stephanie!
Spent an hour trying to figure out how to use this thing after not touching a sewing machine since high school, turns out my machine doesn't have a bobbin case. These kinds of videos justify the existence of UA-cam, appreciate your help.
thank you so much!!! my parents found a singer sewing machine in the trash years ago and never had a manual and finding this video made the stitching soooooo much better, the bottom stitch would always end up all knotted. and thanks to your video we found the solution!
Thank you so much! Grabbed this machine from a thrift store-in the box, missing everything except the foot pedal but I could tell it was never used! This is super helpful
I have this machine and you made a small mistake threading it. After you do the first thread guide and you go to the second thread guide you do not wrap it around the top, that is for filling your Bobben. You’re just supposed to go underneath bring it back up and over the top and then down. I hope this was helpful.
I am so happy you uploaded this! I am a newbie, just got an old-school Singer 290, and it has the same system, and thanks to you, I was able to thread the bottom thread!! Thank you!
I NEEDED THIS VIDEO! 😭😭My mom gave me her old singer and I’ve been fighting with it for weeks trying to get the threading right! This was a God send!! You explain things so well!
I had been searching for a while as to why bobbin housing had been coming out... You explained it... The answer was to have the bobbin thread looped around the needle thread... Such a simple thing... So thank you a million... I'm sewing again...
Thank you very much for a great explanation! It's been a LONG time since last I sewed anything. Making masks to protect against the corona virus. Everyone please stay safe out there!
Here i am, on the mark of second hour of a 30min fix of pant's pokets. Thanks lovely lady, i was able to start sewing even though my singer is much older
I saw several videos before I bumped into yours. I am so glad I bumped into yours. 1/3 into your video and I solved my problem. Thank you so much you are an angel. You get a thumbs-up and of course I subscribed.
Thank you so much for this video,i have been finding it difficult to use the machine to sew,not knowing i didn't thread right. You needed to see how i was jumping for joy after getting it right following this video. Thanks a bunch.
Thank you so very much, I couldn’t figure out how to get my bobbin thread up and no other tutorials had these type of machines, thank you thank you 🙏🙏🩵
Thank you for teaching me how to sew using my singer sewing machine. Purchased it for my wife and she refused to use it, that was 20 years ago. I decided to try the machine two days ago and ended up with a messssss. Thank you for teaching me how to thread and use the sewing machine, which was exactly like your machine in this video.
I watched other videos that helped. 2 good things with this video were the instructions were clear and the camera was steady. I’m 70 years old and just getting started and I could use closer camera shots. Thanks. I picked up a lot.
I couldn’t quite get it right because some how my machine was getting caught up, but this video helped me understand how this machine works. Thank you!!
After buying a brand new Singer at a garage sale for $40 (!), I can't wait to get started, but forgot how after not sewing for almost 50 years!!! Great video, THANKS!
I have rebuilt transmissions and that was easier than maintaining my wife's sewing machine. I eventually got my grandmother's antique that was easier to maintain
Thank you for this video! I got out my 5050C for the first time in 20 years (!!!) and realized I'd completely forgotten how it worked. Bless the internet. 👍💕
My mom would always sew, she passed away in 2016 and I found her sewing machine I never got around to asking her how to sew, I am trying to make a mask due to covid 19. I'm 24 trying to learn how to sew and you helped me!
Thank you.. I struggled with my Singer CM17C. The illustrations in the manual was not as clear as in your video. After watching a following your video, my first project was successful in one take. I thank God for you and UA-cam. Good Day and God Bless
Thank you very much . You explained wonderfully. I purchased this machine for 29$ from Goodwill to sew masks . There was no manual even I couldn’t found the model on the machine . ???. Please do more videos . Thank you .
Thank you so much I know that this machine and did not know how to start it or set it up thank you for helping me out I just have to figure out how to thread the bobbin at the bottom
I cannot thank you enough. For a man the Singer HD 110c instruction manual is frustrating and useless. I am a machinist and fabricator but this machine had me beaten. Kind regards, Al
Thank you. Haven't used my machine for awhile, could not get the tension to go correctly. Always too loose. When I finally wrapped around the metal bobbin thingy. FIXED!
I must be an idiot. At 7:05, where you are describing a looped thread coming up through the needle plate, my model cannot produce this loop. It loops around the black bottom but then never comes up through the hole where the needle is located. In short. I'm very frustrated. Please help me.
Hi Stephanie your explanation is really well done. Yes close up would be more helpful. I was just wondering if you have a full tutoring of this sewing machine. This machine has a lot of functions but unfortunately I don't know how to operate it :( I would really appreciate your help :)
Thank you for being so precise and helpful. I and glad I found your page and will continue to reference it as I teach myself about my machine. Very helpful! Thanks 😊
Thank you for the tutorial! Very straightforward and clear! I have a question. I am having a hard time trying to figure out how to put the threading hook back on above the needle clamp. Do you have a picture of that area so that I can reassemble mine?
Stephanie what model # is that machine? I just picked one up off of Facebook Market place for real cheap and it is in excellent shape. Trying to find a manual for that machine. Oh by the way, your video helped me get started with this machine!!!
I’ve been looking all day for the bobbin tension thread piece that sits right on top of the machine. eBay doesn’t have it, singer parts online doesn’t have it. Any suggestions where this piece can be found. Machine is basically useless without it. Thanks
It's been a long time since I used the fabric press to sew zippers and I don't remember how to put it on, I've already tried several times and it doesn't hold. Could you help me please? Thank you.
Awww you’re the best!! 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for helping me overcome the fear on how to start using my Singer sawing machine ...lol 😅 I’ve tried so many time before and always ended up frustrated but I just followed your steps and its working perfectly fine!!! Also I now know that I need a spool pin cap! 👍😊😊😊 Thank you!! 🥳🥳🥳
ive tried a milion times too. well 3 days now; still trying if trying not to have a nervous breakdown as u know it is frustrating LOL Sweating bullets here. lol
this video is really thorough and gentle, but there are also high resolution versions of this same procedure here on youtube that let you see everything super clearly that you might want to watch too. (I know you asked this question 2 years ago, but you're surely not alone)
Thanks for trying to do a teaching video. But without clear pictures and closeups of every part of the machine where the thread goes - action shots, close up - I didn't get the information I needed.
Hi .i have a machine similar to this one. I get problem with the upper tread gving a bird's nest result and sometimes breaking. can't figure iut where exactly is the problem. Im starting to think maybe my machine is broken 😅
I am really glad I found this! I believe we have the same machine or very close model at home. Does this one have an overlock stitch? I mean, the false one, not real overlock, that's whole different machine, I know 😅 we are now arguing over it and I can't find any manual 😂
I don't loop the thread guide when I'm threading. I go underneath it from the right and side and bring it up from the left side and slide the thread into the slit it has and down to the tensioner. If I loop it in the thread guide it causes more tension.
This guide is for noobs right...I'd think we would be the only ones needing this. If you do not zoom on your individual movements and steps then how can one learn?
This has been a life saver! I'm not much of a sewer, but now that I'm retired I'd like to try some projects. I've had this machine for years and I honestly thought I was going to have to purchase a new machine. Thanks Stephanie!

Thank you soooooo much !!! 😂
Why is my singer not picking it's threaç

I swear one of my bosses gave me one which I brought to my country Uganda but without a Manu. Just doing guess work with it🤣🤣🤭
I am in the same boat!
@@nikkiknight6936 Hahahaha 🤣🤣.This video was meant for you and me.
Sameeeee 😂😂
Super helpful. Very excited to start sewing again.
I had been searching for a while as to why bobbin housing had been coming out... You explained it... The answer was to have the bobbin thread looped around the needle thread... Such a simple thing... So thank you a million... I'm sewing again...
During threading at 2:17 you reference the ‘thread tension disk’....this is not used for threading the machine and only used for winding the bobbin.
Thank you very much for a great explanation! It's been a LONG time since last I sewed anything. Making masks to protect against the corona virus. Everyone please stay safe out there!

This was by far the EASIEST example possible thank you very very much
Does the bobbin need a case ? Sorry I’m a beginner and I got this sewing machine from someone and there’s no case for the bobbin
I think yes . I also got my machine in a yard sale
Thank you. Haven't used my machine for awhile, could not get the tension to go correctly. Always too loose. When I finally wrapped around the metal bobbin thingy. FIXED!
Thanks a lot about the information ,I also have this type of machine & it's not picking up the bottom thread ,how can I fix it
Praise god for the LEFT OVERs! Thank you! Haha.
I was doing it the other way and could NOT figure it out. Thank you 🎉
That was helpful thanks a lot 😊
Would you show me how to clean and oil the same type singer sewing machine.

I'm sorry I don't have access to these machine anymore! Wish I remembered the model number for you!
Lol I know this is old question but I have machine that is almost exact and it’s Singer 2517c
I have the same machine from 1995. I think I’ve been threading it wrong ever since but it still sews.
What model # is that sewing machine I inherited one I believe may be identical but not sure?
Can you help me to find the small first thread guide. I have the same machine
i wonder what is the model of this singer sewing machine
Lady.... I'm in love with you. PERIOD!!!!!!! More videos please!!!
I have this machine. How do i know to get the correct presser feet? Is it standard presser feet, or low shank presser feet?
I have this sewing machine. I can remember how to thread it but i couldn't remember how to put in the bobbin in it. Thank you

Thank you so much 🙏

Thank you, this is helpful.
This video was great! Thank you! I was curious if you have ever had the thread continue to come out of the threading? Do I change the tension setting?
The tension disc on top is for winding the bobbin thread
The plug on mine keeps wiggling loose (every couple of minutes.) Any clue on that?
Omg thank you so much! This video is a life saver 🙏

That's a 5838c model
This seems to be the same modelsewing machine that I have but I'm struggling on trying to figure out what the correct type of bobbins it takes.
If you enter the model # on Amazon they will come up
I am really glad I found this! I believe we have the same machine or very close model at home. Does this one have an overlock stitch? I mean, the false one, not real overlock, that's whole different machine, I know 😅 we are now arguing over it and I can't find any manual 😂

As long as it works for you :)
You aren't supposed to thread the bobbin tension disc for sewing. You only thread that disc when winding up a bobbin.
My feed dogs not grabbing fabric any suggestions?
I wish I did! I don't have that machine in my new classroom otherwise I'd play around and see if I could help you out! Good luck!
