"Federer: Twelve Final Days" Was Very Good

- Gill explains why the Roger Federer documentary, "Federer: 12 Final Days" was a far above average sports production well worth watching. Great access, narrow focus and the prominent inclusion of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and Bjorn Borg were key factors. Gill also shares the story of being live on Tennis Channel at the time Federer announced his retirement.

They'll start recording in 2032
The images of Roger with Jordan and Pelé...10 out of 10.
I didn't hear about it, but I'll definitely watch it. Thanks, Gill!
Nicely done Gill.
We all have many memories of what Federer did to us.
What was the podcast you listened to? You didnt say.

Particularly moving video, Gil. Appreciate it.
The tissues in the thumbnail lol
Federer fans know how to cry
My favourite part of the documentary was the brief, but incredibly impactful moments between Roger and Rafa and Roger and Nole. Roger said something personal to Nole that day, which clearly meant a lot to them both. Those moments were very special.
Something else I enjoyed were the brief scenes with Mirka. Roger has often talked about how important she is to him and to his career, but we have rarely heard from her. I loved the way she said she will miss watching Roger play, she was a fan too.
Through her fingers Mirka watched Roger play Nole. Must’a been like watching a horror film.
This was great, I’ll be watching it later today, w Kleenex
Firstly, Gill, your content has been elite, but your thumbnails have gone up a notch this year! Love it, man :)).
Secondly, the impact Roger has had on tennis continues to astonish me. Not just how fans adored and felt grief when he retired, but extending to his three biggest rivals. It's safe to say that Roger brought tennis into the mainstream with how he played, and the likes of Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray became better versions of themselves to challenge him. Even though he may no longer hold all-time records, Roger still casts a shadow and aura over tennis that I doubt will ever be surpassed.
He still has two important records that can't be surpassed by Djokovic, the record for most consecutive week as number one, 237 weeks, and the record for getting 5 Wimbledons and 5 US Open GS back to back, Wimbledon-2003-2007, US Open-2004-2008. Of course for now he has also the record for the most Wimbledons but might be tied up that record or even worse, just look what a cakewalk draw Djokovic has in this year Wimbledon, a qualifier, a wildcard player and a clay specialist, the first three matches.
Fed fans also “felt grief” when Roger played, especially when Roger played Nole.
hi gill, can you please do a video on Frances Tiafoe this year so far and where you think he will be this time next year?
Gill this was so beautiful!
Fantastic documenatry ....This words Out of my mouth ...Huge Djokovic fan ....
Bravo Bravo Bravo .....🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Nothing is random in life ...
. They knew they would make money off it
4:16 someone should do a meme documentary like that, short and ironically rehashing the big moments with footage that's slightly off, and over the top
I miss Chokerer. First he would clear out 1/4 or 1/2 the draw. Then he’d lose to Nole, often in spectacular fashion, leaving people in RF hats in tears.
Yeh Fed had a full life amongst the greats. Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Pelè.
*GREATNESS!*
Can you please provide the link to the podcast mentioned ? It would be great 👍

@GillGross Thank you very much! Keep up your great content 👌🏻
Of the big three, how many Grand Slams would one of them had won, if the other two weren’t also active at the same time?
Magnificent review Gill! 👏
delpo/fed was epic, indeed.
That was beautiful, Gil, thank you
Tired of Federer. Has he not had his time in the spotlight? When is it enough? Went to a supermarket today. Federer on a Barlilla commercial poster. On youtube and everywhere this documentary etc. It is time for others now.
they can create their own legacies too. its entirely possible we will see the same thing with another player
Special video, Gill
Federer has often made me get out the tissues lmao
Gill trying as hard as he can to be as forthright as Rog!
Sound interesting kind of like Novak unmasked .
I need the link for the “making of”……
Absolutely beautiful!
You used to be team Federer… are you gonna cry when Crybabyovic releases his “Nobody loved me” video after he retires? 😂😂😂
Damn, here I was thinking the rain came from the sky. You should try to say that again without crying brudda.
All of tennis world will mourn Goatovic retirement
Every TIME this mofo comments, it gives me immense pleasure because Every TIME this guy comments, Every TIME I get a sense that at the roo t is the pain goatkovic gave his fav player Claydal and him. 😂
@@user-wd7ue1wd6rEvery time a toxic fan comments including you as well as him, guess what you both sound like fools. we have three legends from one era who have set records that others won't break and yet you c continue to behave like a pack of squabbling hyenas. pathetic
