Such good news! Yeah Dad! with the love and care he is surrounded with he has all the best conditions to recover. Breathe and take care of you too! Sending lots of love and healing powers. ❤
Great news about your dad; I love the brick red color for the cardigan with your awesome handspun!! I love seeing and hearing about all of your projects-so much wonderful inspiration-HNY 🎉
I’m so glad your dad is doing better. It’s very stressful to have an injured parent. I love watching how versatile you are and that you love all different crafts . It’s fun and refreshing to always do something new. Happy new year to you 🎉✨💖
Enjoyed today . So very sorry to hear about your Father and his accident. I will certainly be sending warm wishes his way for healing and return to his daily activities. So hard on your mom and the family I am sure. Healing wishes to all. Take care.
I am so relieved your dad is improving. I love your noro sweater, that colour is stunning! As much as I love the brown yarn for your pressed flowers sweater … that cognac colour is wow. I’m excited to see your swatches. The cinder and smoke handspun yarn is so beautiful, Kaci…as is the combo spun hank you made for the sleeve of your future traveller hoodie. You are amazing girl, supremely talented and such an inspiration. ☺️
So happy your Dad is continuing to improve! Your yarn is beautiful and I would definitely use the Red!! I know it will not be your choice but it sure makes your hand spun yarn shine!
You are really motivating me to knit the traveler sweater with you ! Although I am going to take a bit of advance since you are knitting so fast 😂😘 thank you for sharing about spinning, I feel like I don't know anything on the subject but I love hearing you about it and seeing all those beautiful colors 😍
Oh man, I remember sleeve stress when spinning my first sweater. It still takes thought even now...and I've been spinning 10 ish years. Your going to love it...I can already tell you're loving the process and that's so important! Enjoy and give yourself a little grace. :)
Team brown all the way for your cardigan! (But obviously go where your heart tells you ❤️) Loved the spinning portion! Thanks for the update on your new wheel! I’m always so curious what pushes people to upgrade their wheels, and a smoother spin definitely sounds lovely. Cannot wait to see how your combo spin turns out- I love your plan!
So wonderful to hear your dad is doing better! My opinion on the pressed flowers cardigan. I too am an Autumn and LOVE all the earth tone colors. I'm also typically a low contrast girl. However when seeing you handspun with the brick red and the brown, I would choose the brick red hands down! I think the red will bring out the beauty in your handspun. I think if you use the brown your handspun colors will get lost. Just my 2 cents. Either way it will be beautiful! Love your podcast, content and joyous spirit! 🎉 Thank you for all the hard work you put into sharing your joy of crafting! ❤
Oh, I love the red/handspun combo, but swatching would be so helpful in choosing. I think you should choose whichever will get the most wear for yourself. ❤
What a fabulous update ! I definitely want to try the Noro yarn now, it looks really lovely knit up. Love hearing about your spinning update too. And you made me laugh talking about your test knits 😂
I usually have trouble deciding on yarn colors but I think you need to go with the high contrast for the pressed flowers with your beautiful hand spun! Both are pretty but the red will be gorgeous!
Dear Kaci, thanks for the little update on your Dad, I hope his progress continues, one slow step at a time ❤. Can I just tell you how much I love the music you put in? Oh my, that was so fun! I do not spin myself, but I‘m mightily impressed how complex the process is: well done on that sleeve to body color ratio thing… my brain was spinning, but I love the skein you created! Have a very happy New Year!
I really enjoyed the watching the spinning process. Thank you for sharing that. I like the burnt red for the contrast. But I’m sure either would look beautiful.
Everything is beautiful! Thank you Kaci! I'm so happy your dad is getting better. I know that has to be a worry for you. I can't wait to see all your finished projects in 2024.
So glad to hear your Dad is on the mend. That brown sweater (test knit) looks great with your beautiful hair. I'm not a spinner but I enjoy hearing you talk about it and I love your finished product, the colors are crazy good. Take care Happy New Year
So glad your father is getting better. Wow you have been busy loved your Farnham sweater its going in my favorites . Lived your spin for the pressed flowers it would be hard to choose because both colors are beautiful I think the brick red only because it would be a shame to not see the hand spun but either one is a good choice. I wish I was into spinning I enjoyed you sharing. HAPPY NEW YEAR 😊
Thank you for sharing more of your spinning! I appreciated hearing about your love of the Matchless. When I began researching wheels, I decided that the Matchless was the one I wanted, but, as you noted, it isn’t inexpensive. I purchased an Ashford Traditional with the intention of “upgrading” to the Matchless if spinning became a big deal in my making world. I’d love to spin sweater quantities of non-superwash wool for sweaters. One of my goals this year is to be a more careful curator of my makes. Since I knit, weave, sew, and am learning to spin I want to have time for all of those and find that if I knit everything that looks fun and buy all the yarn, I’m not saving time and money for the other forms of making I also enjoy. All that to say, I appreciate you sharing your sewing and spinning and look forward to hearing even more about those along with your knitting.
So happy to hear that your father is feeling better and on the road to recovery. Thank you for another great episode and all the spinning talk. I am preparing for my first sweater spin in 2024 so hearing how you worked out your sleeves was a huge help and something I didn't consider. I don't have a pattern picked out yet, but since I am also testing the Noro Sweater I might try to spin for that since it is such an easy pattern and will really show off the yarn. I hope you and your family have a happy new year !
Loved the extra spinning segment! I just purchased my first wheel, the Ashford Joy2. I watched one of your previous podcasts about beginning spinning and it helped a lot. Thank you! I am loving it so far and spinning away in Northern Michigan ❤
Kaci so happy your dad is on the mend, obviously your devotion and love for him has helped the process! I wanted to say your hand-spun is amazing for the length of time you have been spinning! I agree with you, you can’t go wrong with either main color choice for the cardigan but the brown is Divine and I think will really be a knockout. Happy New Year, I love your channel!
red!!! I started a pressefd flower hat in a low contrast combo and the flowers got completely lost and I ended up frogging. I have never seen you make a color choice mistake so you decide and we'll all look forward to seeing it come to life!!
I definitely want to see those two swatches for the Pressed Flowers Cardigan. I can see why that is such a conundrum! Wishing your dad a speedy recovery!❤
Wonderful news on your Dad - Praise the Lord!! Praying his recovery continues going so well. So I would so totally pick the red! But I also love a low contrast vibe. And I know you love you some brown! Swatches do sometimes lie, but usually on gauge, not color 😊 Ha! And your spin is remarkable!! You’re such an inspiration for me - and obviously a ton of others!!! Love love love your channel!! Thanks for being so genuine ❤
Happy New Year! 🎉 Even though the red is NOT low contrast, I think it allows your stunningly beautiful hand spun yarn to shine! Glad to hear your Dad is doing so well. I’m outside Philly and it’s going to be 52 degrees today…..and you are in the low 30’s. However, next week it always could be sub zero in this neck of the woods!
You did an amazing job of spinning your yarn, If you are taking votes...I vote the brown it will be a spectacular painting. You are so clever!! Happiest New Year to you and yours.
Glad to hear your dad continues to improve. He is amazing. For me when I want to go a little beyond my comfort zone colorwise, I start with accessories and see if I wear them. I will also be making a Traveler sweater this year but with some special bought yarn,
The fiber that you are spinning is gorgeous! Keep up the good work. I’m fairly new to your channel but enjoying it immensely. From Oklahoma, happy New Year.
First of all, I'm so glad to hear that your dad is continuing to heal. Also, your hands-on for your cardigan turned out gorgeous. It would look great with either the brick or the brown, but I've been watching your podcasts long enough to know that you will prefer the brown lol. Can't wait to see your pressed fl9wers shawl finished. I think you said before you only had just a small amount left to finish. Hope you have a great 2024❤
Hey Kaci, I think either of the base colors would be beautiful for the pressed flowers cardigan but, IMHO, the brown just looks extra good! Swatching both is a great idea, though - can't wait to see them.
So happy that your dad is improving! Have a great New Year, and a happy, healthy 2024! 🎉😊 P.S. - my vote goes for the red main color with your hand spun for your Pressed Flowers Cardigan. I think the brown makes your hand spun look muddy. Might just be the color resolution on my phone but your beautiful hand spun deserves to shine!
Seems like you've gotten some knitting mojo back and some spinning mojo too! Love your projects, their colors, and hearing about the process you go through. Happy New Year to you and your family, I wish your father continued recovering.
Looking forward to the EweKnits collab! I live in Toronto and they are a lovely shop and the staff there are very helpful! They have gorgeous fabric as well! Have a Happy New Year!
I’m obsessed with the color of your Noro test 😍 I’m testing it too and using Silk Garden it wasn’t exactly the color I thought it would be but I still like it! So glad to hear that your Dad is on the road to recovery ❤
Your handspun is so gorgeous! I think you should go with the brown for main color on your Pressed Flowers Cardigan if you feel happier with that. It will be so beautiful.
I’ve just lost my taste and smell from Covid-I forgot how weird this sensation is, and it came back in about 6 weeks I think after my previous Covid bout. As a horsewoman, I really am happy your dad is getting better. 🐎
Your spinning is so so spectacular 😍😍😍 I always always love spending time with you while I knit ❤️ Now I feel like I need to spin for the traveler’s shawl maybe 😂
So glad your Dad is on the road to recovery. It must have been so scary and unexpected. You have so many beautiful wips and potential cast ons. The yarn you spunis very pretty and has inspired me to learn to spin. AFor beginner do you recommend a lacquered or unfinished Ashford Kiwi?
Great to hear your dad is getting better Kaci I think the low contrast option for the pressed flowers cardigan will be stunning. I finished my pressed flowers socks and love them! My instagram account is private though, can I still enter the KAL?
So glad to hear that your dad is improving. Yes it is hard to knit when highly stressed. So I can I just put in a vote for the red yarn over the brown because as much as I also love low contrast colorwork I think that the details in that pattern need to pop especially since you spun it -it needs to be the star. Show it off. That is too much work to blend in too much!
So what if you did the ribbing with the red, then used the brown with your hand spun for the body of the sweater? Would that fit more into your preference for low contrast yet still let the red into the act?
I believe what you’re seeing is just the creamy white sections of the handspun. I spun them onto two bobbins in a different way so the colors wouldn’t line up exactly.
Question about the Farnham sweater - I have a similar upper bust/full bust discrepancy and have wondered about the fit of oversized drop shoulder sweaters. Does the oversized fit negate the need for short rows? Do you try making different sizes for the front and back? (Thinking that all the difference between my upper and full bust is all in the front, so make the front a larger size). Thanks for sharing!!!
It’s really too much testknits, especially those you can’t share. Why mention them anyway, not too much fun for those watching your podcast. Sorry to say that, but I think I have to take a break from this podcast. Hope your dad will get better soon.
Although red is my absolute favorite color some how the brown says it all.
❤❤❤❤ I love brown
Such good news! Yeah Dad! with the love and care he is surrounded with he has all the best conditions to recover. Breathe and take care of you too! Sending lots of love and healing powers. ❤
Thanks!
Great news about your dad; I love the brick red color for the cardigan with your awesome handspun!! I love seeing and hearing about all of your projects-so much wonderful inspiration-HNY 🎉
Thank you so much!
Your smile is always a joy. Happiness to you and all you love. 💕
Thank you! You too!
That rusty red for the flowers??? YESSSSS. SO PRETTYYYY
❤❤❤❤ thanks!
I’m so glad your dad is doing better. It’s very stressful to have an injured parent.
I love watching how versatile you are and that you love all different crafts . It’s fun and refreshing to always do something new. Happy new year to you 🎉✨💖
Thank you so much
Wow!!! You made some yarn magic with your spinning wheel. Its beautiful. Can't wait to see what you make out of it!
Thank you so much!
Glad your father is coming along and that you’re able to knit again!! Happy new year my dear Kaci!
Thank you my dear ❤
I loooove your handspun yarn. The colors are just perfect and they will look fantastic on a pressed flower cardigan 😍🌸
Thank you! 😊
Enjoyed today . So very sorry to hear about your Father and his accident. I will certainly be sending warm wishes his way for healing and return to his daily activities. So hard on your mom and the family I am sure. Healing wishes to all. Take care.
Thank you ❤
Your hand spun is gorgeous. You have really blended the colors from the braid beautifully. 💕. Iris
Thank you!!
Thank you so much! You are such a sweet friend 😘
So happy your Dad is continuing to improve! Your yarn is beautiful and I would definitely use the Red!! I know it will not be your choice but it sure makes your hand spun yarn shine!
Thank you so much!
You are really motivating me to knit the traveler sweater with you ! Although I am going to take a bit of advance since you are knitting so fast 😂😘 thank you for sharing about spinning, I feel like I don't know anything on the subject but I love hearing you about it and seeing all those beautiful colors 😍
Oooo.... that brick with your handspun would be so pretty! But, I like your swatch idea to figure it out. Can't wait to see what you wind up doing. 🤩
Oh thank you!
Oh man, I remember sleeve stress when spinning my first sweater. It still takes thought even now...and I've been spinning 10 ish years. Your going to love it...I can already tell you're loving the process and that's so important! Enjoy and give yourself a little grace. :)
Thank you!
So nice to know your dad is so much better ❤ I would love to have fiber to even know how to spin so see.your results is amazing
Thank you so much!
Absolutely love how the colors came out on your hand spun yarn! Gorgeous! ❤
Thank you so much!
I'm a spinner. Love, love your yarns. Brilliant to spin for the Traveler. Looking forward to seeing the end product....eventually.
Eventually is right 😂
Team brown all the way for your cardigan! (But obviously go where your heart tells you ❤️)
Loved the spinning portion! Thanks for the update on your new wheel! I’m always so curious what pushes people to upgrade their wheels, and a smoother spin definitely sounds lovely. Cannot wait to see how your combo spin turns out- I love your plan!

I love the Farnham pullover. Soooo pretty
Thank you!
Oh, I love the red/handspun combo, but swatching would be so helpful in choosing. I think you should choose whichever will get the most wear for yourself. ❤
I totally agree! ThNk yoh
gahhhhhhh your traveler hoodie is going to be AMAZING!
Thank you for your inspiration ❤
I like the red but if you like the low contrast then you should do that. Yes both are beautiful
Thanks!
I am sorry to hear about your dad :( but glad he is on the mend! the colour of that Noro jumper is amazing!!!
Thank you so much!
What a fabulous update ! I definitely want to try the Noro yarn now, it looks really lovely knit up. Love hearing about your spinning update too. And you made me laugh talking about your test knits 😂

Your hand spun is gorgeous, friend. ❤
Thank you so much 😀

Thank you for watching ❤
Thank you. Best wishes for 2024.x
Thank you
I really enjoyed the watching the spinning process. Thank you for sharing that.
I like the burnt red for the contrast. But I’m sure either would look beautiful.

I ❤ watching you spin on a Matchless!! I have one too!!
They are such a treat to spinning ❤
So glad to hear your Dad is on the mend.
That brown sweater (test knit) looks great with your beautiful hair.
I'm not a spinner but I enjoy hearing you talk about it and I love your finished product, the colors are crazy good.
Take care
Happy New Year

Your handspun is spectacular! So beautiful!
Oh thank you!

So happy to hear your father is steadily improving! So mesmerizing watching you spin! Excellent colors!
Thank you so much!
I am also testing the noro sweater, such a fun knit. So much beautiful spinning, I’ve been neglecting mine.
Can’t wait to see yours!
I am so happy that your dad is doing better. Love your handspun! 🧶

I am low contrast girl myself, but ... Man, that red looks so good!
The red may be the winner

Thanks for the advice! ❤
Wow, your spinning yarn colors are great.
Thank you!
Definitely red! Thank you for a wonderful podcast! Made my morning so much better and brighter . Your smile is contagious
Oh thank you!
I’m also a low contrast Superman. But I agree you should swatch! They both look good! Nice spin
Thanks!
I definitely want to see those two swatches for the Pressed Flowers Cardigan. I can see why that is such a conundrum!
Wishing your dad a speedy recovery!❤
Thank you!
Wow! Beautiful hand spun yarn!!! The part where you explained how you had to plan for the sleeves was quite interesting. ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
Wonderful news on your Dad - Praise the Lord!! Praying his recovery continues going so well. So I would so totally pick the red! But I also love a low contrast vibe. Your Travelers combo spin is to. die. for!!! So much inspiration! ❤
Thank you my dear Mia ❤

You did an amazing job of spinning your yarn, If you are taking votes...I vote the brown it will be a spectacular painting. You are so clever!! Happiest New Year to you and yours.
Thank you so much!
Prayers of thankfulness to hear of your father’s improvement💜✝️
Your spinning is so beautiful❤️
Thanks!

Thank you so much!
This is my 3rd or 4th video of yours I've watched and I have subscribed!
I appreciate that so much!
Love the hat color! So glad your dad is improving.
Thank you!!
Vote the Brown I agree love the colors
Thanks!
First of all, I'm so glad to hear that your dad is continuing to heal. Also, your hands-on for your cardigan turned out gorgeous. Thank you so much! And you’re right I’d probably prefer the brown
Your spun yarn is gorgeous ❤
Thank you ❤
Your hand spun is gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it knitted up!
Oh thank you!
Thank you ❤
Thank you!
That red is beautiful - even though it’s not low contrast! Happy New Year 🎉
Good to hear your father is on the mend.
Yes! Thank you!
Loved the spinning segment. I’m working up my courage to try spinning. So happy your Dad is improving. 🥰
You can do it!
Love spinning info I just started this year so I love to hear all the tips and tricks
Awesome!!!
Hey Kaci, I think either of the base colors would be beautiful for the pressed flowers cardigan but, IMHO, the brown just looks extra good! Swatching both is a great idea, though - can't wait to see them.
I totally agree!
Thank you for the wheel info!
You bet!
Happy to hear your Dad is making progress! Love your color options for your pressed flowers project...tough choice. Happy New Year!
Thank you so much!
I love the madara yarn by noro. I would like to make a sweater out of it but so far I made the “Cooler Side of Warm Cowl” out of it.
It’s so soft! ❤
Fantastic!
Many thanks!
So happy that your dad is improving! Have a great New Year, and a happy, healthy 2024! 🎉😊
P.S. - my vote goes for the red main color with your hand spun for your Pressed Flowers Cardigan. I think the brown makes your hand spun look muddy. Might just be the color resolution on my phone but your beautiful hand spun deserves to shine!
Thank you so much for the vote! I love them both! But red seems to be the favorite
Well, I’d go with the brick red, but that’s me.
All your spins look beautiful and I imagine they’ve given you a lot of peace and ease. 🎉
Good choice!
Seems like you've gotten some knitting mojo back and some spinning mojo too! Love your projects, their colors, and hearing about the process you go through. Happy New Year to you and your family, I wish your father continued recovering.
Thank you ❤❤❤❤
Looking forward to the EweKnits collab! I live in Toronto and they are a lovely shop and the staff there are very helpful! They have gorgeous fabric as well! Have a Happy New Year!
Can't wait! Claudia is so sweet!
Your spun yarn is gorgeous. Happy New Year.
Thank you so much! I’m really enjoying it ❤
I’m obsessed with the color of your Noro test 😍 I’m testing it too and using Silk Garden it wasn’t exactly the color I thought it would be but I still like it!
So glad to hear that your Dad is on the road to recovery ❤
I wish I could use Noro silk 😢 not being able to do mohair has really cramped my style 😂
Your handspun is so gorgeous! I think you should go with the brown for main color on your Pressed Flowers Cardigan if you feel happier with that. It will be so beautiful.
Oh thank you!
That spin is gorgeous!!!❤
Thank you ❤
I’ve just lost my taste and smell from Covid-I forgot how weird this sensation is, and it came back in about 6 weeks I think after my previous Covid bout.
As a horsewoman, I really am happy your dad is getting better. 🐎
It’s the worst 😂 and thank you! I’m so glad he is making improvements
Hello from St.Louis, Missouri!
Hello ❤❤❤❤
Your spinning is so so spectacular 😍😍😍 I always always love spending time with you while I knit ❤️ Now I feel like I need to spin for the traveler’s shawl maybe 😂
Oh thank you! And yes you do need to 🤣
I would love an electric eel wheel tutorial! I got one at rhinebeck and I'm totally stuck!
I got the unfinished because that’s all that was available. If you plan on storing somewhere that has a lot of moisture I’d go with the finished one ❤
Great to hear your dad is getting better Kaci
I think the low contrast option for the pressed flowers cardigan will be stunning. I finished my pressed flowers socks and love them! My instagram account is private though, can I still enter the KAL?
Sure just send me a pic of your wip or FO on ig! ❤😊
Go with the brown🧶
So glad to hear that your dad is improving. Yes it is hard to knit when highly stressed. So I can I just put in a vote for the red yarn over the brown because as much as I also love low contrast colorwork I think that the details in that pattern need to pop especially since you spun it -it needs to be the star. Show it off. That is too much work to blend in too much!
Good points! Thank you! ❤
Brown!
My favorite ❤
So what if you did the ribbing with the red, then used the brown with your hand spun for the body of the sweater? Would that fit more into your preference for low contrast yet still let the red into the act?
Oooo that’s interesting 🤔
When you ply your hand spun yarn…what are you plying it with? It looked like the color was a white fiber plied with your colorful hand spun.
The sweater has short row shaping in the back and shoulders and the oversized fit made it were I only needed to adjust the length for myself ❤
Wonderful video! What kind of camera do you use for filming?
I use a Panasonic lumix
Thank you!
It’s really too much testknits, especially those you can’t share. Why mention them anyway, not too much fun for those watching your podcast. Sorry to say that, but I think I have to take a break from this podcast.
Hope your dad will get better soon.
I’m sorry it’s been frustrating for you ❤sometimes I frustrate myself 😂
