    Daniel, great videos. Lots of info. Can you tell me, is there a age limit for a independent adjuster? Knowing there is often climbing ladders, crawling around, some lifting, etc. what has been your experience. I appreciate your advice.

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  2 місяці тому

      @dialdude I don't believe there is a age limit. It is up to the individual if they feel fit enough to climb roofs. I plan on climbing until I get vertigo....haha As far as desk adjusting or flood adjusting, this can be done until the person wants to retire. I knew a 90 year old that was desk adjusting.

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  2 роки тому +9

      Average salary....this is difficult. There are all types of adjusters. If you are average person who is looking for a steady paycheck, then Desk Adjusting is for you. ($30-$35/ hour..average). Daily Claim adjuster makes ($50-$150/hour..average) CAT adjuster ($150-$300/hour.. average) Just guessing on the averages. Typical good adjusters who are self motivated, working 10-12 hours a day, 6 days a week, like myself, who are paid by the claim, make over 200K/year) The sky is the limit. Top pay is only for the hardcore, die hard, go-getter adjuster. Hope this helps!

      @@rockettcassia think of this career as no different than any other career that you would apply for. When you are filling out the roster forms to the firm, you need to have a résumé that highlights all of your skills, your certifications, and or your training. If you feel like your résumé is a little light, then start on getting some certifications and some training. There are some companies that do individual training, but each firm is different. Check out www.catadjuster.org as this website has some information regarding training from different firms. It takes some time to get skilled, but if you stick to it, you can succeed.

    I figured in a month in a hotel I d need about 4000. Not including using your car mileage and gas. So if you make 10,000 that month. Subtract about 5ooo you are left with 5000 for you in that month. So it's just like a regular job, because all that overtime you ll make should have been more than that.

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  3 дні тому +2

      @PositivePulse123 if you are considering the calculations for a catastrophe, your income would be much higher. Potentially you could make $25-$35,000 during the one month catastrophe, depending on how many claims you were assigned, and possibly more if you were given a second round of claims. Your calculations for the hotel were correct. Catastrophes are very profitable.

    wow. great content. i have often wondered what an IA is all about. i have been a real estate appraiser for the past 25 with 20 of those years being self employed. this seems like it ‘could be’ somewhat of a lateral move for someone like myself. unfortunately, my real estate appraisal business dropped off approximately 80%
    about 1.5 years ago due to the significant increase in mortgage rates. this has put me in the unfortunate position of searching for a new career. i’ll continue to explore this field. in your opinion, do you think that 25 years as a real estate appraiser would look good on a resume when applying to firms for an IA position? thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

    Daniel, thank you for your videos. I am currently taking the adjusterpro course and there is a lot of information on coverage, how to calculate claims based on their specific coverage etc but in one of your videos, you share that independent adjusters don't actually get to see the claimants policy. Can you expand?

    • @danieltheadjuster
      @danieltheadjuster  2 роки тому +1

      It depends what insurance area you get involved in. If you were involved in liability insurance, then you’ll spend a lot of time in policy and coverage. As a property field adjuster, we just inspect the damage, we have a broad knowledge of the coverage, but we are not allowed to bring that up to the insured. The desk adjuster will go over all the coverages and that leaves us pretty much out of it. It’s not that we don’t get to see the coverage, it’s that we don’t discuss it with the insured.

      @danieltheadjuster  Рік тому

      Sure, as you complete more and more claims for the firm, you will find that one firm will give you more work than others. You’re actually not being loyal to the insurance company, you’re being loyal to the firm that is providing you work, for that insurance company. Once you see that 75 to 80% of your work is coming from one company, you will begin to be loyal to that firm. It is just a natural process.
