      Happy you enjoyed our little local adventure! We certainly were surprised by the rain, but the weather is always a little random here.

    I just picked up a couple of older used kayaks. They definitely take up some room, and a roof rack will eventually be in order so that I can take them on camping trips, and still have room for gear. First thing is going to be a little bit of restorative work on the kayaks, although they aren’t bad.

    Do you happen to have a link to that adapter used to inflate? that's exactly what i need!

      Right? I am having the hardest time trying to figure out what adapter this stupid thing takes. None of the included adapters seem to work

    Great video. My wife has a paddleboard and I have no balance, so I'm thinking of picking this up. extra room for a cooler would come in handy at the lake. Have you tried it alone? Fine by yourself? Also, I'm not the smallest person, do you feel cramped width wise? Update: I just bought one. Should be here in a week. thanks for the video.

    I have an on-board ARB compressor and am interested in how you aired up. Looked like gauge/trigger, but I couldn’t tell what you had at the end. Was it a Schrader valve to plain Boston valve adapter?

    Does it seem like you could camp their without hassle?
    Thanks in advanced! And look forward to seeing more adventures

      I’m sure you could do it with out hassle as long as your not bothering any of the lake homeowners, however I would be cautious in trying it as it is a very used and slightly abused location due to all the summer and weekend activity the island sees. Also it’s bound to be a popular place to the college kids at Rollins college nearby. But other than that I don’t see anything that says you can’t do it and it would probably be a fun time….

    How are you getting on with this? Just curious what pressure you inflated it to? I'm looking at getting an inflatable kayak myself but didn't want to get one that I'd 'outgrow' almost straight away

    Thanks for the video. Helped me to go with a Chinook 100 after weeks of research. Nice rig by the way.
    I also have an onboard ARB air compressor, what type of adaptor (the orange one) do you use to air up your kayak?
    Have you ever strapped down the inflated kayak over your tent? If yes, do the straps keep tight after some drives?
    I'm wondering the kayak get cold and shrink while driving and then the strap may get loose.

      Thanks for the compliment on the video and truck! The fittings we used we got from a random Amazon SUP assorted Fittings purchase (sorry I don’t have the specifics on it anymore). As for strapping it down we have never tried that but it should be doable, but even like you mentioned about the deflating while driving I would think that strapping the handles separately and specifically strapping down the nose would be fine. The handles seem pretty durable on it.

      @@SunshineStateVikings Sounds good. Any feedback after a year?
      Some reviews complain on getting Chinook dry as it comes with a double tube structure (bladder). How did you find it in this case?

    • @SunshineStateVikings
      @SunshineStateVikings  2 роки тому +2

      @@naturalfrequencys4283 the drying is certainly a concern only if packing up. It will be for that style of inflatable. It’s a fabric wrapped inflatable that goes in the water! It is a bit of a hassle to get it dry enough to pack away but it’s the trade off of having a durable inflatable kayak, it fits a certain need. We don’t have space for a traditional kayak at the house so this works for us. It’s best to let it dry for a day or two leaning it against a wall and flipping it after a day to be sure water doesn’t collect on the bottom side and not dry. We’ve used it several times and I would say for the cost it’s treated very well. We have had nothing really go wrong with it.

    Awesome, thinking of picking up this kayak myself and want to see if it fits me and my girlfriend. What are your heights?

    • @SunshineStateVikings
      @SunshineStateVikings  3 роки тому

      We are both just under 6’ , hope this helps you with figuring it out. The seats can move around anywhere. And if you aren’t leaving space for too much baggage in the back it’s not bad on space!

    How is the kayak holding up after a year. What paddles are you using. Planning on getting this for next summer to replace our intex inflatable kayak.

    • @SunshineStateVikings
      @SunshineStateVikings  Рік тому

      Still holding up great! Not sure how your intex is constructed but I recommend checking out this video about inflatable kayaks that goes over the pros and cons of each construction. We love this kayak but we certainly got caught off guard by the fact that it has to dry for 2-3 days in order to pack it up.

      @@SunshineStateVikings😮 I hear that it the con with the fabric covered kayaks, I own a few the Vinyl Kayaks like the Intex Explorer K2 and Sea Eagle SE 370 which is PVC you can simply wipe the kayaks dry with a microfiber towel if you’re pressed on time and can’t leave it out to air dry I used let them dry in the sun have now learned that sunlight will ultimately ruin the Vynil and the PVC.
