Dave murray and adrian smith are a perfect guitar duo when it comes to melody and twin guitar solos. Both are harmonising perfect together. I'm not a hardcore maiden fan after the mid 90's but these two guys are underrated as guitar players. They understand each other blind on stage
"One Hand" that is the Hammer on Hammer off technique. It takes strength in the fingers, to fret the note with enough force to set the string in motion, also takes *Preamp gain* and volume. Check out: The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, Wasted Years, Seventh son of a seventh son. Iron Maiden Drummer Niko Mcbrain played his last show last night 12-7-24 after 45 years he is now semi retired.
Hey, Darlin’! Thank you for doing this one. Such an inspiring and emotionally charged song. Recited it for poetry day in 12th grade. 😅 Worth it. Another fun one is Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner. They put the poem (of the same name … by Samuel Taylor Coleridge) to music to express what’s happening in the poem. Amazing results.
Commenting as someone alive back then and a big Maiden fan, it's understandably hard for younger generations to appreciate what Maiden was doing here in the 80s, surrounded by a bunch of hard rock hair bands playing simple songs with nonsense lyrics. Maiden went down a different path and should always be applauded for it, as evidenced by the influence they have had on rock bands coming after them.
Steve Harris (the bassist) is a history buff, and wrote much of their music based on historical moments/wars. They're one of my favourite bands!
In the school of rock Iron Maiden would be considered your history teachers 🤣🤣🤣🤣
🔥🔥🔥
Never ever get tired of listening to Iron Maiden, in fact since the very Early 80s. 76 going on 77 this old lady still rocks ❤
The only group I know who brings story telling and history with a punch 👊🏾
Irons Up 🔥🤘🏽🔥
This song is based on/inspired by the Tennyson poem "Charge of the Light Brigade".
About an actual battle
CRASH! One of my many favourites. Classic Maiden. Nice one Stax machine ❤🇬🇧 Can never get enough of Maiden. UP THE IRONS. Si
🔥🔥🔥🙏
I love that the drum/bass combo give you a sense of rushing into battle on horseback, such a great tune.
The signature galloping sound

Maiden has one of the best guitar solos in rock n' roll
